    I had tech drawing classes back in college, didn't really like them, but years later when I picked up drawing as a hobby the skills I cultivated there really helped me

      Exactly, technical drawing might seem boring and dry but it can be really helpful to understand thr structure of things

    My dad used to do technical drawings and QA for a midwest sheetmetal manufacturer. I love this kind of stuff and have started getting into it for hobbies so I can accurately definite my solutions to design requirements. Wanted to share (you may not know, but you probably do) that you can set your camera to manual focus to keep it from focus hunting when you move your hands in and out of the frame. I love your video. Thank you for sharing!

      Yeah, that autofocus issue was silly. Ever since I shoot on a different camera and I fixed the autofocus issue. And technical drawing is really fun glad you like it!

    Excuse me, I`ve seen a confusing technical specification recenly. Could you help me understand what theese things mean «B edges fitting is allowed during following assy» and «Other TS comply with 12 100TU» The confusing part is «B edges» and «12 100TU»

    Are there any technical drawings where you prefer to use a CAD software instead of hand drawings? Or are hand drawings always sufficient?

    • @robertlkiss
      @robertlkiss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For technical drawing, I always use cad, because it's much faster and more precise to create a drawing with the correct dimensions based on a precise model.

    You an use dashed lines to represent features we cant see rather than doing a cross section as done in the seat side view.

      @@Petersensei Hmm i learned technical drawing back in university, and everything else from the internet(tutorial videos and whatnot) so sadly don’t really know of other books other than Scott Robertson’s and my teacher Koos Eissen’s sketching books. However if you know how to construct things ortographically it’s the same thing in perspective you just have to keep perspective foreshortening in mind.

    He laszlo love your art here is a question:
    How do you decide when doing a side view upon the width on the top view
    Like how do you go about it.
    Side view and then guess at the width in top view?
    Please answer me this, been following you for too long :)

    • @robertlkiss
      @robertlkiss  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure I get the question completely, but if you are coming up with the design you decided the dimensions. So it is up to you.

    • @MathBlue
      @MathBlue 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertlkiss but when you draw an top view (orthographic)
      you start with center line which is just a plane in top view and now it needs width like you said.
      According to what do you design the dimensions in top view so that it looks propotioned once put in perspective...
      Because the side view does give no information about the width...
      I hope i could explain
      Cant wait for your reply thanks and stay healthy
