Lee was always the most professional. Not just because he's worked professionally, but because he took notes and never argued them. He knows how to be directed. Arguing back with a director shows you do not trust their vision. Take the note. Incorporate it, or if you MUST question it, justify it in terms of the character, don't make it about you. He was also by MILES the best actor.
I know it was almost 14 years ago. Lee became a fabulous Joseph but watching back now, Zoe Taylor still annoyed me sometimes because she just judged the voice but she forgot about the quality of acting too...I was glad when Bill and specially A. Weber put her back on her place ;)
I mean...she's the vocal coach. Of course she's going to be focusing on the voices above everything else. That was her entire purpose on the panel. That's why John and Denise were there: to focus more on the acting and general performance. And yes, she could be quite harsh but at the end of the day, whoever won it was going to end up performing 8 shows a week to a probably regularly packed West End theatre for several months; that requires quite a high standard of vocal performance and stamina. And the guys that were smart actually took her criticisms onboard (or at least recognised that she wasn't saying them just to be cruel) and actively improved week-to-week, and she then recognised that and gave praise when it was due. That's exactly how coaching and feedback is supposed to work.
He was consistently the BEST actor in the series. Absolutely phenomenal, and so much further above the others. He also has one of those faces that can look both very young and very old, kind and intense at the same time. He is a versatile performer. I've cast plenty of shows and he would be my first choice even from the first live. He's been so consistent overall.
I had forgotten how argumentative Ben was! They both did great, could see them as father and son in terms of performance which is a great achievement but man alive let it go!!
I was forced to cut it out because apparently, that one performance was copyrighted. It’s definitely out there on TH-cam if you look hard enough but in order to have the whole show up here, I had to cut it out.

Did Keith find any success after this? Or any of the others? I'm also a huge fan of Samantha Barks and discovered her on Groove High believe it or not. I devoured all of I'd Do Anything and everything else she has done. Are you a fan of her?
@@TristanandIsolt Daniel, Keith and Lee have all had very successful careers in theatre. Most of them have been successful except Craig who moved into a very inappropriate career. They have pretty much all had appearances on famous UK TV shows too. I haven’t seen much of I’d Do Anything truth be told.
@@tomgallagher655 I only watched after Daniel was eliminated. I will back up a couple episodes to see him. Maybe watch all of it. Craig inappropriate? Porn? you got my mind running wild. I'd do anything is available on TH-cam just like you did with Any Dream Will Do. I recommend checking it out, but I'm in love with Samantha so I'm biased.
