@@tmac731 for me I have First Class over DoFP for a few reasons. They both have the same run time but I don't feel it with First Class, there aren't any moments where it drags for me, it's more fun, it's sexy, I love the feeling of camaraderie it has, and up until James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, out of all the modern cbm First Class felt the most like a graphic novel come to life. Days of Future Past also loses points in my eyes for not only focusing so much on Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique but also really starting the whole Mystique is actually a hero story which never worked for me on any level.

I only rank days of future past higher than first class because they killed Darwin but he’s suppose to adopt to survive(im also black so I felt salty the black mutant died first lol) also i love team up movies so seeing the 200s X-men along with the rebooted mutants was great. Call me crazy, but I kind of like how subjective a rating for Deadpool and Wolverine is. Those who have watched a lot of non-MCU Marvel content will appreciate it the most, but it falls through somewhat without the knowledge gained from watching them Edit: I should mention that No Way Home worked well because it didn't have the 4th wall breaks. In NWH, the cameo characters actually had to be characters. In D&W, it was almost as if the cameos were turned into caricatures sometimes
If I can add, I liked Deadpool way more than No Way Home because everything felt in line and made sense to me in the context of Deadpool. With No Way Home, I always find the first two acts so convenient to have everything happen. The motivations on Peter’s end, the whole MIT thing (even Flash getting in when he sided with the Spider-Man controversy but not MJ and Ned), and Doc with the magic box, the writing just comes across as so convenient for us the audience to get to see our favorite previous versions of these characters. I love the third act and seeing Tobey and Andrew again and their arcs in here, even Tom’s from the second act onwards is great, but it’s always that first half that bothers me. That’s that I still really like the movie. I would alternate between a 7.5/10 and an 8/10 with it. With DP and Wolverine, it all made sense to me and fell in line with what Deadpool would do.
I try to watch every movie I can man and being able to understand almost all the references they made was an amazing movie experience! (The Green Day clip show at the end did make me shed a tear)
Actually if it wasn’t for “Blade” (1998), we wouldn’t have so many Marvel movies. But I would say that “Blade”, “X-Men” (2000), and “Spider-Man” (2002) helped to popularize Marvel films and lead to the MCU.
@thomashalvas8653 so from a financial perspective, Marvel would have gone under had it not been for Blade. However Blade was not promoted as a comic book movie and was viewed as a cool vampire actioner until the MCU started to gain popularity. So to claim that Blade helped popularised comicbook movies is just objectively false.

@@kcxy06 I have several Marvel hot takes. One of them is that I really love the Wolverine movie. It has issues, and there’s every case in the world to make against it and Future Past being better. I love both, it simply became a matter of which I enjoy more, and personally, I enjoy Wolverine more. My reasons? I love the Japan setting, the samurai feel and tone with the story, I’m a huge samurai sucker so the broken swordsman routine called to me, the action sequences are really cool, more in the Unrated cut, and I just find it to be a very rewatchable film

Yes, it has Fun. Parts like Quicksilver save, the final battle is Fun Great things like Magneto's family and construction factory scene. The opening is like DoFP, Dark Phoenix was lazy. The atmosphere is very lively as well. Feels like Blockbuster movie all along. Dark Phoenix? Yuck

@@aditya._.d3shmukh it clashed with the rest of the film, which is a very grounded, gritty superhero/samurai/yakuza flick, and if the old guy had the robot, why did he not use it from the beginning? Why going through all the trouble putting the tiny robot in Wolverine’s body? Also the fight scene is not that great compared to before cause before the reveal we just assumed it to be a mindless robot samurai so idk not a lot of stake.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think Apocalypse is way underrated. I agree it’s not the best of the reboot timeline or the X-men movies as a whole, but I think it’s a solid X-men movie. As you mentioned, the magneto storyline is great, and I thought it added a bunch more to his already complex character.
Apocalypse was actually the 1st xmen film I saw after seeing trailers for it before Deadpool. I liked it enough to go back and watch all the other xmen films. I now know it is one of the bottom teir of the franchise, but it got my interest piqued enough to go back.

Literally the only thing holding this back from being a 10/10 is the fact that Cyclops has practically nothing to do and he’s always been my second fav X-men behind Wolvie) 3. Deadpool 2 8/10 ( Not as good as the og but… I mean cmon it’s fkin Deadpool!) 9. X-Men: First Class 8/10 ( Since The Wolverine was my biggest riser, one film had to drop and unfortunately, this movie isn’t as great as I remember. Still a really good time and Magneto’s theme is goated) 10. X-Men: Last Stand 7/10 ( Noticeably weaker than its predecessors , but the Golden Gate Bridge scene is still great and Logan fighting the dude that throws the spikes was always a cool scene to me) 11. X-Men Origins: Wolverine 7/10 ( I am higher than most people on this movie, mainly because of the music and the first hour-ish was pretty entertaining) 12. X-Men: Apocalypse 5/10 ( it definitely has its moments, but it’s pretty bad. The quicksilver moment in this movie, while cool, doesn’t hit as hard for me as it did when I saw it originally) 13. X-Men: Dark Phoenix 3/10 ( really unmemorable and the villain is just a skrull essentially) P.S. I haven’t seen The New Mutants but I’ve heard it’s low key pretty good so idk I might give it a watch 🤷♂️

The ending of Deadpool and Wolverine made me very happy, the final fight along with everything that happens with Logan just was great. That being said nothing can top Logan, genuinely one of the best send offs to a character I’ve seen with a gut wrenching finale.

I watched all of these in the 3 or 4 days leading up to Deadpool 3 so they were all fresh in my head. Great experience… don’t know if I recommend it. For these rankings I do theatrical/high budget streaming films unless otherwise noted or intended. There's so many made for tv and animated films that it makes it tricky. I'm old enough to remember Generation X when it came out. But most people have no clue it exists.

I would love to see a ranking of opening scenes in these movies. Mainly just because the opening scene of Deadpool & Wolverine is one of my favorites of any movie ever now and has been stuck in my head all week, but also because I think the rankings would be quite a bit different than they are for the movies as a whole here. For example, Origins Wolverine's war montage is awesome despite how much of a letdown the movie is as a whole (and I know that's not the very first scene of the movie, but it's part of the opening sequence).

Pfff i have no idea how I'm going to do this but here we go: 14 Dark Phoenix (coudn't even get through this boring mess without falling asleep] 13 New Mutants (boring like phoenix but has some interesting ideas executed poorly) 12 Origins Wolverine (watchable only due to the sheer chaos and jackman) 11 Last stand (weirdly watchable by itself but after X2 is such a jarring shift) 10 Apocalypse (drags alot, magneto carries) 9 X-men (fun but a little slow and low budget compared to the others) 8 Deadpool 2 (just kind of average, I like the beginning, ending drags tho) 7 The Wolverine (2/3 of a great wolverine film and i think the ending gets too much hate + the alternate cut fixes some of its flaws) 6 Deadpool and Wolverine (no idea where to place this, loved jackman in it but probably too much multiverse plot to enjoy on rewatch) 5 Days of future past (concept is better than execution but i like the ideas so much I still have a great time with it) 4 Deadpool (funniest x men film that I dont know how was made) 3 X2 (breath of fresh air vs modern super flicks) 2 First Class (excellent period piece in the comic book genre) 1 Logan (I mean come on)
I saw Deadpool & Wolverine today and I'd say its easily one of my favourite marvel movies, like easily top 5, probably even top 3. I absolutely loved it. The story was a lot of get your head around and you need to pay serious attention but I still found the story to be, cool entertaining and interesting. The humour was just brilliant. Pretty much every joke landed. I love how they made jokes about the real world and the state of the mcu 😂. The performances, specifically hugh Jackman were very good. They fully delivered on the cameos. It's what MOM should have been. Every cameo was awesome and unexpected. I couldn't believe what I was watching. DP and WR were incredible together. The villain wasn't top tier but she was still really good and threatening. All the references, Easter eggs were super cool. And then of course the action, scenes, the choreography of the Deadpool v wolverine fights were epic. The climax scenes were amazing and a lot of all of that was due to the stellar soundtrack. Every song used make every scene, every action sequence 10× more thrilling and exciting. This film put a huge smile on my face from start to finish

@@tmac731 for me I have First Class over DoFP for a few reasons.
They both have the same run time but I don't feel it with First Class, there aren't any moments where it drags for me, it's more fun, it's sexy, I love the feeling of camaraderie it has, and up until James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, out of all the modern cbm First Class felt the most like a graphic novel come to life.
Days of Future Past also loses points in my eyes for not only focusing so much on Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique but also really starting the whole Mystique is actually a hero story which never worked for me on any level.

I only rank days of future past higher than first class because they killed Darwin but he’s suppose to adopt to survive(im also black so I felt salty the black mutant died first lol) also i love team up movies so seeing the 200s X-men along with the rebooted mutants was great. They should’ve stopped making X-men movies after this tbh. Jean Scott and charles were alive again, it was the perfect ending

Call me crazy, but I kind of like how subjective a rating for Deadpool and Wolverine is. Those who have watched a lot of non-MCU Marvel content will appreciate it the most, but it falls through somewhat without the knowledge gained from watching them
Edit: I should mention that No Way Home worked well because it didn't have the 4th wall breaks. In NWH, the cameo characters actually had to be characters. In D&W, it was almost as if the cameos were turned into caricatures sometimes
If I can add, I liked Deadpool way more than No Way Home because everything felt in line and made sense to me in the context of Deadpool. With No Way Home, I always find the first two acts so convenient to have everything happen.
The motivations on Peter’s end, the whole MIT thing (even Flash getting in when he sided with the Spider-Man controversy but not MJ and Ned), and Doc with the magic box, the writing just comes across as so convenient for us the audience to get to see our favorite previous versions of these characters. I love the third act and seeing Tobey and Andrew again and their arcs in here, even Tom’s from the second act onwards is great, but it’s always that first half that bothers me.
That’s that I still really like the movie. I would alternate between a 7.5/10 and an 8/10 with it. With DP and Wolverine, it all made sense to me and fell in line with what Deadpool would do.
I try to watch every movie I can man and being able to understand almost all the references they made was an amazing movie experience! (The Green Day clip show at the end did make me shed a tear)

Actually if it wasn’t for “Blade” (1998), we wouldn’t have so many Marvel movies. But I would say that “Blade”, “X-Men” (2000), and “Spider-Man” (2002) helped to popularize Marvel films and lead to the MCU.

However Blade was not promoted as a comic book movie and was viewed as a cool vampire actioner until the MCU started to gain popularity. So to claim that Blade helped popularised comicbook movies is just objectively false.

@@kcxy06 I have several Marvel hot takes. One of them is that I really love the Wolverine movie. It has issues, and there’s every case in the world to make against it and Future Past being better. I love both, it simply became a matter of which I enjoy more, and personally, I enjoy Wolverine more.
My reasons? I love the Japan setting, the samurai feel and tone with the story, I’m a huge samurai sucker so the broken swordsman routine called to me, the action sequences are really cool, more in the Unrated cut, and I just find it to be a very rewatchable film

@@aditya._.d3shmukh it clashed with the rest of the film, which is a very grounded, gritty superhero/samurai/yakuza flick, and if the old guy had the robot, why did he not use it from the beginning? Why going through all the trouble putting the tiny robot in Wolverine’s body? Also the fight scene is not that great compared to before cause before the reveal we just assumed it to be a mindless robot samurai so idk not a lot of stake.

I really don’t think many of them are bad maybe like 3 at most: Origins, Dark Phoenix and New Mutants… the rest are either good, great or underrated imo

Maybe it’s just me, but I think Apocalypse is way underrated. I agree it’s not the best of the reboot timeline or the X-men movies as a whole, but I think it’s a solid X-men movie. As you mentioned, the magneto storyline is great, and I thought it added a bunch more to his already complex character.

Apocalypse was actually the 1st xmen film I saw after seeing trailers for it before Deadpool. I liked it enough to go back and watch all the other xmen films. I now know it is one of the bottom teir of the franchise, but it got my interest piqued enough to go back.

2. X2: X-Men United 9.5/10 ( nightcrawlers intro still gives me goosebumps to this day. Literally the only thing holding this back from being a 10/10 is the fact that Cyclops has practically nothing to do and he’s always been my second fav X-men behind Wolvie)
3. Deadpool and Wolverine 9/10( hot take to have it over the og Deadpool but I legit could not stop smiling/laughing)
4. Deadpool 9/10 ( another example of perfect casting and humor still holds up pretty well to this day)
5. X-Men: Days of Future Past 9/10 ( Ngl this movie confused tf outta me when I was a kid lol but watching it as a young adult now, it’s badass, and I always loved the quicksilver scene)
6. X-Men(2000) 9/10 ( CGI still holds up 24 years later, and gives us a perfect intro to one of the best characters in all of cinema)
7. The Wolverine 8.5/10 ( This was the movie that had the biggest rise in my rankings from the last time I saw it, and.. apart from the last 20ish minutes, it’s a perfect film ngl)
8. Deadpool 2 8/10 ( Not as good as the og but… I mean cmon it’s fkin Deadpool!)
9. X-Men: First Class 8/10 ( Since The Wolverine was my biggest riser, one film had to drop and unfortunately, this movie isn’t as great as I remember. Still a really good time and Magneto’s theme is goated)
10. X-Men: Last Stand 7/10 ( Noticeably weaker than its predecessors , but the Golden Gate Bridge scene is still great and Logan fighting the dude that throws the spikes was always a cool scene to me)
11. X-Men Origins: Wolverine 7/10 ( I am higher than most people on this movie, mainly because of the music and the first hour-ish was pretty entertaining)
12. X-Men: Apocalypse 5/10 ( it definitely has its moments, but it’s pretty bad. The quicksilver moment in this movie, while cool, doesn’t hit as hard for me as it did when I saw it originally)
13. X-Men: Dark Phoenix 3/10 ( really unmemorable and the villain is just a skrull essentially)
P.S. I haven’t seen The New Mutants but I’ve heard it’s low key pretty good so idk I might give it a watch 🤷♂️

The new mutants and Dark Phoenix over The Last Stand and Origins is downright insane.
The ending of Deadpool and Wolverine made me very happy, the final fight along with everything that happens with Logan just was great. That being said nothing can top Logan, genuinely one of the best send offs to a character I’ve seen with a gut wrenching finale.
I’m a HUGE movie enthusiast especially horror movies, aspiring business owner and actress. I’ve already watched 24 new releases in the cinema this year including Deadpool and Wolverine. It was an absolute blast from start to finish! I grew up on the X-men movies. My top five favorite from this franchise are X2, The Wolverine, Days of Future Past, Logan, Deadpool and Wolverine ❤❤❤❤
I watched all of these in the 3 or 4 days leading up to Deadpool 3 so they were all fresh in my head. Great experience… don’t know if I recommend it.

I would love to see a ranking of opening scenes in these movies. Mainly just because the opening scene of Deadpool & Wolverine is one of my favorites of any movie ever now and has been stuck in my head all week, but also because I think the rankings would be quite a bit different than they are for the movies as a whole here. For example, Origins Wolverine's war montage is awesome despite how much of a letdown the movie is as a whole (and I know that's not the very first scene of the movie, but it's part of the opening sequence).

Pfff i have no idea how I'm going to do this but here we go:
14 Dark Phoenix (coudn't even get through this boring mess without falling asleep]
13 New Mutants (boring like phoenix but has some interesting ideas executed poorly)
12 Origins Wolverine (watchable only due to the sheer chaos and jackman)
11 Last stand (weirdly watchable by itself but after X2 is such a jarring shift)
10 Apocalypse (drags alot, magneto carries)
9 X-men (fun but a little slow and low budget compared to the others)
8 Deadpool 2 (just kind of average, I like the beginning, ending drags tho)
7 The Wolverine (2/3 of a great wolverine film and i think the ending gets too much hate + the alternate cut fixes some of its flaws)
6 Deadpool and Wolverine (no idea where to place this, loved jackman in it but probably too much multiverse plot to enjoy on rewatch)
5 Days of future past (concept is better than execution but i like the ideas so much I still have a great time with it)
4 Deadpool (funniest x men film that I dont know how was made)
3 X2 (breath of fresh air vs modern super flicks)
2 First Class (excellent period piece in the comic book genre)

I saw Deadpool & Wolverine today and I'd say its easily one of my favourite marvel movies, like easily top 5, probably even top 3. I absolutely loved it. The story was a lot of get your head around and you need to pay serious attention but I still found the story to be, cool entertaining and interesting. The humour was just brilliant. Pretty much every joke landed. I love how they made jokes about the real world and the state of the mcu 😂. The performances, specifically hugh Jackman were very good. They fully delivered on the cameos. It's what MOM should have been. Every cameo was awesome and unexpected. I couldn't believe what I was watching. DP and WR were incredible together. The villain wasn't top tier but she was still really good and threatening. All the references, Easter eggs were super cool. And then of course the action, scenes, the choreography of the Deadpool v wolverine fights were epic. The climax scenes were amazing and a lot of all of that was due to the stellar soundtrack. Every song used make every scene, every action sequence 10× more thrilling and exciting. This film put a huge smile on my face from start to finish
