You can put music in 2 categories (some say the 2 choices are GOOD&BAD, maybe for some, but not me!) My 2 categories are Music (term may be used loosely ;)) made for your ears to listen to (basically anything). Then there is music that is so special and rare that you hear it within your soul and if/when you hear it, you will definitely feel it! You only have to be breathing and have a pulse, even people with hearing loss can know music by way of heart & soul.Charles Bradley a #2(tha shit)no ?s!
RIP - Sad to hear of the death today of Charles Bradley. He was such an amazing singer and showman! I saw him twice in London at Koko and the O2 Shepherds Bush. His music lives on.....check out the great Documentary Charles Bradley Soul of America Documentary th-cam.com/video/q8i6kpBDSJI/w-d-xo.html A great loss of this talented singer and showman!
had no clue bout that dude....then i did see the documentary bout him yesterday, tears in my eyes.....that man is somewhat REAL, gotta gotta LOOOOOOVE him....all the Best for you Charles Bradley, may you become 100 years old....
Peter Wild What's this documentary? I feel like I need to see it. Because I've been a fan of this guy since being the only one to come close to covering Neil Young's Heart Of Gold while at the same time being at least original about it.
I lost TWO shows of him here in Brazil. I thought I would have the chance to see him live in the near future. He did not. I was NEVER as sad about the death of an artist as I am now. THANK YOU, Charles, for making my life a little lighter whenever I listened to your music. #RIPCharles
peace on earth 65 Such an ignorant statement, man. The Menahan Street Band are the guys that gave Charles his chance. They believed in him and pushed him to give it a go. Besides, there are a gigantic host of white soul players in its history. The Muscle Shoals Swampers (who played on Wilson Pickett and Aretha Franklin's biggest hits), Steve Cropper, the Duck, you name it. Somebody's skin color doesn't mean a damn thing when it comes to soul music, and with a name like that, you should know better.
Now Charles Bradley knows how to belt out what soul is all about... In my opinion I like him better than James Brown. I want to thank +stclemmons 1969 for bringing me here... Thanks for the share & God Bless to All
Con todo respeto pero los amigos afro son una bomba en el escenario, se nota el contraste, los demás blancos bien frios, no sienten la musica como los afro
I recently listened to Charles on Slacker Radio and fell in love so I had to look him up. can't wait to see him in concert...This what music sounds like...
He's was one of those rare performer that was better live than on wax. I wish could have saw him live but thank god we got live post of him that speak for itself ! M R.I.P. Mr. Charles Bradley
Jorgesxbass1....I think it may be a Gibson SB. I had a Gibson EB0 and they look similar...but I would start my search with the SB series. Let me know whatcha find out! :)
What happened to his old guitarist from the Menahan Street Band? That guy was the brains behind the operation. He acheived to channel Charles's amazing life story into one epic first album. Hope he is not out of the picture.
I was at the Pukkelpop in Belgium last weekend and I was walking when I heard his voice.. I got closer to his stage and damn.. He gave me so mush emotion ! I checked on the line up who was this guy and I read that he recored his first Album at the age of 64 ! My best discovery at the Pukkelpop festival 2015 :)
Died of stomach cancer.....Jesus. It's like the pain he carried with him was too great to exorcise through the power of performing and it manifested as sickness. I want to call him a legend, but it may be too soon.
Considering the SAD (Standard American Diet) it doesn't sound crazy, especially for such an emotionally vulnerable person(I am saying it in a good light). It is so bad the people that have gone by so unfairly.
Awesome Soul Funk. Playing in Auckland in a couple of weeks and I'll be there. We'll be lovin' you too Charles..... The Extraordinaires are a nice band but, no offence, their backing vocals aren't really up to the job. He needs real quality like Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings' Saundra Williams and Starr Duncan Lowe for harmonies and to pump it out when required.
CARA!! fico até emocionado com a empolgação de Charles Bradley, demais!! foda!! genuíno, autentico.......sobram adjetivos!!! mito!!!!

canta bien culero el coro, le hubieran puesto también unas morenas
Is it me or do the backing vocals suck real bad? I'd like to see him with Snarky Puppy, if that were possible!
Yeah they sure do.
Charley and snarky... Damn talk about a good time
Ushinor Majumdar they should of had real brothas singing the backing and playing as well

They don't suck because I've seen this act live. This is a poor mixing job for vocals however.
Ouvir Charles Bradley é ter certeza de que valeu a pena ter vivido para ouvir as músicas dele
4:30 smoothest shit I ever seen
doesn't just play soul, he is soul

CB is awesome. Loved shooting his show at The Paradise in Boston.
Rocking out at 65! That's inspiring.
This man needs a band with more natural soul, haha.

They do not call it soul music for not no reason. RIP Mr. Bradley

24 people just don't have soul
He's also sweating like James Brown.

Épico Charles!
This sir is so very timely for me personally. I like that he's kinda lo- fi, back to roots type. Thank you very much.

Clap!!Clap!! Great Charles
IMO, Menahan Street Band sounded way better than his extraordinaries. it's still the screaming eagle of soul, with a little bit less groove.
Simply one of the best, my new favorite artist and band. God bless soul. Love you all
Charles Bradley é bom de mais!
