Just saying this would have been better I think because rocksteady lost touch with Batman not wanting to make his games anymore did Arkham knight become a disappointment It’s not a bad game but I say it’s probably the worst one in the series due to its story Who knows in an alternate universe this story might have happened for Arkham knight and I be their to pick up a copy
Only gripe. Needs more nightwing. Damien should revere dick for creating the mantle. He should approve of nightwings choices of being better then bruce.
Why would the joker care about Robin enough to beg to bats not tell him, I think he would actually encourage Him to tell robin so that he gets himself killed just like jason
I wish for atleast even one Arkham game they would include Batman and robin as a real team. Doing missions together, splitting up to get stuff done. Could’ve added so much
@@plantainsame2049 it was only unpopular cuz the placements they chose to interject her sections into the story were really dumb, and at high build up moments. The missions themselves were overall received positively.
Well, I do have a problem with how he places them in the story. It would kinda hurt the pacing and makes things feel disjointed. Plus it might feel like a Robin story more than an actual Batman game.
The game even changed Jason's Post-Crisis Origin where his father was a gangster killed by Two-Face in order to make his alliance with these super criminals make sense.
@@Moviemaster595 I explained my points here in the comments section. If you like, you can look around for my comment to learn what I said. Should still be here.
My main question is what happened to Nightwing throughout the story? Does he just stay tracking Penguin stuff without Robin? Why wouldn’t he be in the rest of the story with Jason and Damian
I'm only two minutes in. But I damn near felt like applauding the suggestion having Deathstroke lead the Militia from the start. It makes more sense that someone like him would have the means to build that organization. And as a mercenary, it would make sense that he'd take the job.
One thing I’ve never got about the Arkham Tim Drake is his bulk and buzz cut he is the most intelligent of all the robins in fact before being taken in by Batman he figures out their identities Jason is more of the brute strength Tim the Brains and Dick the Heart and really more of the absolute skill tok
The designers thought he'd be an underground boxer so they gave him that design. Though I don't see how you can't be smart and bulky. In the profiles Tim is 189lb while Jason is 200lb. And if you look at how they play, Jason is much slower while Nightwing is faster.
It takes away from the other’s trait’s if they can all be whatever. Imagine if they made Jason acrobatic as well, then it wouldn’t be special to nightwing, or if dick was as smart as Tim.
@@ddl3718 But they aren't taking anything away. It's well established that Jason is physically the strongest one in the game. Tim being bulky doesn't take that away. Though in the game, Jason does have some acrobatic like training given how he can flip around as well. All three robins can be bulky (though logically it wouldn't make sense for Dick to be) but we still know Jason is the strongest. All three of them are capable of strategy and detective work but Tim is the best one. You see what I mean? We know they are capable in the same fields but don't master each one that the other does.
It is so stupid why scarecrow didn't go after croc but obsessed with the bat. It could be more interesting scarecrow was torturing croc and batman is trying to save him. Also Jason never mentions Jokers dead. I am still thinking is there a deeper layer to arkham knight? Sidekicks do not have skeleton on x-ray vision. Was is all hallucination from the begging?
@@iceman5882No it isn’t stupid that scarecrow never goes after croc. How do you even know he didn’t try? There’s nothing saying he didn’t. Scarecrow just simply doesn’t know where croc. Also scarecrow knows that croc is just a brutish and idiotic animal. When croc attacked him, it wasn’t personal at all. Scarecrow blames Batman for not saving him.
I love the idea that Joker says “heh, must’ve beat some sense into the boy all those years ago” but why would Joker NOT want Batman to be exposed to more fear toxin? He would want that so he can take over more easily
Batman letting joker take over while being drugged with fear toxin only for him to manifest as jokers worst fear is just too brilliant of a story twist to get ride of. I understand wanting the bat family to be more involved but lets be real. The Arkham series has mainly been about batman and his villains...mainly joker.
REVIEW: This is good, but VERY overstuffed and Disjointed. Deathstroke and Scarecrow are reduced to losers who don’t amount to much of anything. In fact, Deathstroke just randomly disappears from the game, doesn’t get a rematch with Bruce either. Scarecrow doesn’t get a boss fight as well, which I could forgive if he actually left an impact on the story instead of just being a distraction. You had the chance to flesh his motivations out more in this one but didn’t. Also, the story didn’t need both Damian AND Jason, as they’re motivations are basically exactly the same. You should of just had one or the other. Because of this, Jason becomes horribly overshadowed and basically does nothing the whole game. There’s just way too many plots going on and so many of them are half-baked and unfinished. Jason doesn’t have a redemption arc even though by all means he should have, instead, that is given to Damian. You could of had something where you play as both Bruce and Jason (at once) to stop Damian, but nah, it’s just Bruce doing it and Jason just watches it happen. You should of just had Damian be the Arkham knight and completely cut out jason. It didn’t need TWO failures coming back to haunt Batman. Just one, therefore that one can be fleshed out more and seem less repetitive/unique. You handled jason almost as poorly as Rocksteady did dude. These are all the plots you have: Scarecrow: Ignored Deathstroke: Unfinished Jason: Rushed, Half-Baked, and Unfinished Joker: Rushed and Halfbaked Damian: Finished but too similar to Jason’s story Other nitpicks of mine: Damian should have won the first fight, instead of losing bc then there’s no tension in the final fight as it’s obvious Batman will win with ease Not enough dual team moments I LOVE corny shit, but even the ending was a little too cheesy for me. And felt out of place for an Arkham game Azarel’s prediction from Arkham City doesn’t really fit with this story since Batman doesn’t die
Tbf, Jason's story be rushed, half-baked, and unfinished IS exacty what the real game did also lol. At least this rewrite has some actual subtle build up to Jason prior to the reveal (Dick and Tim's hypothetical dialogue), which is a million times more than the real game bothered to do.
Changing the ending for Harley Quinn was such a welcome change! Having first played Arkham Knight last year, Harley's part in the story was kinda meh. Nevermind the fact it was weird to see a "pure evil" Harley, since I was already used to her more recent versions, it felt weird how the game ignored her getting """better""" without Joker's poisonous influence on her (as is common in several other media), and it felt mid how underused she and her gang was.
If I were to take a shot at this, I'd keep the Arkham knight the head of the militia but make him Damian, and then have red hood be his own character. I'll also work with your idea involving Harley, Tim, Hush, and the mansion. The difference between Damian and Jason is that Damian just wants revenge, and doesn't want to prove anything. Jason on the other hand serves as his original character from under the red hood, a Vigilante who's hurt more by his own love for his father figure, rather than pure hatred, and want to prove Batman wrong. In this version Batman is the only one infected by Joker, and he's fully honest about it to the bat family. They have a cell for him ready but he's not infected enough to warrant it just yet while doctors hired by Batman try to find a cure with Tim helping in any way possible. The arkham knight is left untouched for the most part aside from story details about it being Damian. One of the things I will change is Hood comes in during the part where we destroy the anti-air missile, forcing Damian to retreat. I'll also make the tanks manned. I know said that it's not a flaw in the original, but in this take it is since Damian knows Batman much less than Jason and can only counter the obvious unlike Jason. So Damian pushes hard on that no kill rule. However the Batmobile is now equipped with emp rounds to allow for gameplay to remain the same. Over the course of the story Hood will show up and help Batman out indirectly while berating him for his code. (No team ups) Eventually, early in the game he comes out to Batman as Jason. The extra interactions will be exploring their relationship as they come across each other. Eventually Batman will ask Hood to help under the condition he stops doesn't kill, which Jason accepts to help get through to Batman on a vocal level. This is more of a broad take rather than a detailed idea but it's a comment what am I supposed to do.
@@Eshtian Batman and Talia concieved Damian one year before Batman: Arkham City, so he would be born 3.5-2.5 months before then. This would presumably make Damian one year old, but lets just assume that this rewrite takes an extra 8-14 years into the future.
What a pretty cool idea you came up with, but the problem is I personally don't think both Jason (Red Hood) and Damian (The Arkham Knight) would work very well in this game since I think it would complicate things.
I like this a lot, my only problem is that Jason is mad that Batman couldn’t save him. It’s always been known that Jason wasn’t mad that Batman couldn’t save him, but that Batman allowed Joker to live and continue to inflict harm on others. I think he’d express some relief for the joker being dead after so long but mad at Batman for it not happening sooner after Jason’s death. Maybe he can even recognize some of Joker’s mannerisms in Batman? Seeing the affect the fear toxin has on the other, getting angrier about the grip Joker has on Batman and how the Joker never stops tormenting them. Idk i pulled that last but outta nowhere, but I can see it happening. I also really like that Damian is in this, he is my favourite robin and I don’t like how the games keep on excluding him like he doesn’t exist.
I love 99% of this. My only tweak is in the ending, have Alfred talking to Gordon and make it Dick be the one making Damian get his feet off the table, just a subtle tip of the hat to the fact that Damian was originally HIS Robin
More so I think an even better tip of the hat to that would be. A side mission where Damian gets captured by the Penguin being too cocky. And Nightwing ends up rescuing him and they work together to beat the Penguin. I would also add that their final interaction would include Dick being the first one to break through Damian's hard exterior and even change Damians perspective a bit. Because I do think while most of this is great Damian's turn from vengeful child to willing to join the batfamily is too fast so having a mission where he teams up with Nightwing then kinda gains a new perspective from that making him doubt everything he had been told up until that point would help his coming to the light side a bit better
I like the idea. But honestly I don’t think it works to have Wayne manor in the game for two reasons. 1. The games setting is suppose to be the city and Batman re-taking the city. Wayne manor isn’t in the city and is purposely left out from the game because the focus was suppose to be the city itself. 2. In the Arkham time line he’s already had Wayne manor invaded in origins. It seems unlikely Batman would not have learned from his mistakes and made it so Wayne manor couldn’t be attacked again. This game and the other arkham games all mention in bios that Wayne manor is viewed as a fortress to criminals
Yep I moved this video over to a new channel that’s dedicated just for video game content rather than being included with a bunch of miscellaneous stuff. Figured in the long run it’d make a smooth subscriber/viewer experience. also appreciate that fact that you watched it TWO whole times. thank you!
honestly didnt have much of an issue with arkham knights story until i watched this video, i wish so badly this is what we got, or atleast that happy ending with the family batman isnt a character for happy endings so i think something that sweet and wholesome would be just an amazing change of pace, the ending of arkham knight is so depressing honestly and usually i love depressing endings but i believe thats because they're uncommon, with batman the roles are reversed also with damien showed up in the games, hes quickly grown on me as one of my favorite robins, and the reutilization of all the robins was spot on. really nice job man.
I love this rewrite! Not only does it fix the inconsistencies and odd choices, but it also makes use of some characters that didn't get enough attention.
This is SO much more of a sequel to City, even the feel is perfect. The amount of interesting characters and plots and the perfect tie up, much like city. Even the Robin bits feel like a spiritual successor to the amount of Catwoman in City. Perfect job
Having Tim and Barbara be a couple is so fucking stupid. Tim's supposed to be like Babs' little brother. Idk why they didn't pair her with Dick like we all know on top of that she has a Flying Graysons necklace throughout the game. Rocksteady fucked up there.
I feel like the story was a little overstuffed with damian. Also Harley getting the jump on Tim is dumb. After how easy batman takes her down in all the other games why can't Robin do the same? Also her redemption arc never worked. She a murdered and tortured hundreds. Damian piloting an excavator is hilarious. Ngl, I'd replace him with deathstroke again, and have it lead into a sewer section where you encounter grundy, but in a turn of events you talk to him and he struds off(like the long Halloween) adds nothing really, but arkham batman was really lacking the empathetic side, you can tell he is deep down a good dude, but you dont see it too much. Plus scarecrow was too underutilised. I don't get why he can't be the main villain, he's badass in knight even with the little screen time he has. Especially the ending to knight. It's just so good, I can't believe it was took out. Ending joker and Crane in a way that was weirdly emotional and cool. Some elements are better in yours but some are better in the original. Plus the ending you thought up was good, but batman beating the hell out of damian, nearly killing him then immediately after nobody talks about it? However, I can see you Did care about what you were doing. I applaud you. And appreciate you tried to show batmans caring side more, which should be a set standard in batman media. Overall great vid, just some imperfections
I know you said that you didn’t have outside knowledge, so I can elaborate one point, on the Arkham Knight novel the Arkham Knight notes that he purposefully used unmanned drones batman would exhaust himself trying to destroy all of them, remember that he and Scarecrow wanted Batman to make it to the end, so they could break him in front in everyone.
I think everything down to the start of this game needed a rewrite, you can’t top the eerie crawl thru the asylum, or the climb to the batsuit in city, or even the batcave intro in origins, this intro is literally Batman….on a gargoyle….standing around….like come on rocksteady
Personally... I'd just scrap "The Arkham Knight" all together. And just do the Under the Red Hood story properly. Everything good about Jason's story in the game is taken from that story anyway and everyone knew who he was before the game even came out.
If I could change anything about Arkham Knight, just ONE thing, it'd be Harley. Actually have her show off her smarts (She is a DOCTOR for Christ's sakes, she's not an idiot!), make her no longer obsessed with the Joker (we already got a "Harley gets revenge" plot in Arkham City's DLC, we don't need it again in Knight), make her her own character with her own achievements that she herself shows herself capable of doing without Joker needing to be involved at all (most of her achievements in the Arkham series is credited either to Joker or her goons, rarely does she do anything herself and it makes her look pathetic), and GIVE HER HER OWN BOSS FIGHT! This woman has literally gone toe to toe with Batman in the past, LET HER FIGHT HIM!
The reason Jason doesn’t man the tanks is because he doesn’t want Batman to hold back at all. He want’s Bruce to fail while he’s at his best, showing that he can’t fully protect Gotham. He even says it himself in the gunship battle. “Wish I could be in there but then you know, you’d just hold back.”
I have some critism First Damian and Jason Both are characters mad at Batman for failing to save some one and so they fight against him They're the same character in this rewrite except one is more extreme and actually gets character development. Oh ya Jason He good guy now. In Arkham knight Jason has an emotionally brutal fight with Batman that has Jason reconsider what he's doing. In this rewrite though nothing triggers this. He gets betrayed by Damian, which has nothing to do with batman and his moral code, and then Batman saves Scarecrow while leaving Barbara in his hands Batman saves Scarecrow while leaving Barbara with his kidnapper No version of Jason wouldn't be pissed and would only push him further against Batman. The dinner scene on paper is cool but are we really going to believe that nobody is going to be tilted by Damians presence after all that he did that night? They're just cool with him now? I don't buy it. Further more the tanks aren't a plothole. Jason didn't know about the current batmobile upgrades and the tanks were just designed to limit his movement via batmobile. Batman was supposed to avoid them. Not fight them. Also in the rewrite Jason takes down a group of thugs, helping Batman. So Batman pays in kind by attacking him with a batmobile? Also why would Robin track the penguin, but not take him down? You could just interrogate him if you needed information.
@@alexgreer6336 well the tanks were designed to be unmanned only. So there wouldn't be any seating. The only way to actually do that is to shove them on the tank which is dangerous. And you saw the Militia's reaction to the bomb vest, why would anyone willingly get on top of a huge red target that could also simultaneously backfire by accidentally shooting or crushing them by standing on top of it. (And falling over for the latter) There's no safety measures for riding the tank. Not to mention how hot they could potentially get or the idea that you can't really just stand on top of some of them like the dragonfly. And are you just going to have an unprotected Militia member drop down on turrets like they're odst's? And don't even count on the Militia willingly doing it after the poison ivy tank section. And the gun shots. Say goodbye to your hearing. Hope the operation is paying enough for you to retire with extra for sign language classes. And the recoil would make holding on impossible.
I'm a bit late, but I rather enjoyed listening to this rewrite. I enjoyed Arkham Knight but definitely felt some things were either missing or off. I think it's pretty cool that the main bat family would actually turn up in the Arkham Knight, and I liked it that Damien would turn out to be the final boss in this rewrite, plus with this ending, it definitely leaves it open for more games set in the Arkham universe, instead of what WB games are doing, I know Rocksteady are doing the Suicide Squad game which is set in the Arkham universe but I doubt it will be anything like the Batman games they did. Hell, I'd have loved a Rocksteady version of Gotham Knights. Anyway, again, I really enjoyed listening, and I'm glad that it has a bit of a happier ending rather than a confusing one.
Deathsroke vs nightwing would’ve been epic. It would’ve been a good way to get them both out of the story, leaving them both heavily injured from their fight.
The worst thing that there is no batcave and wayne manor in the main story but insted you get this boring satellite batcave from arkham city and batman is the only playable character in the openworld even after you complete all the side missions
I like the inclusion of more Robin and Nightwing segments. It’s real dumb how little we see them on the game despite Gotham being invaded by a giant militia
Great video! Okay I have to get nerdy here for a second. First off, I love this series, like you do. I've often thought and wished that somebody would make another Arkham game that fills the whole left between Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum. It would cover bits of story with the bat family, especially Jason Todd. This would make his inclusion in Arkham Knight more meaningful in so many ways! I thought initially this is what we were gonna get when Gotham Knights was announced but we know how that turned out. I've never seen anyone take on the rewriting scheme like you have and I have to wonder... Would it be possible to rewrite Gotham Knights as an Arkham game that fills the whole between Origins and Asylum? It's worth thinking about.
Thank you! I would love if Origins got a sequel to flesh out that time period. Maybe actually see how any of the Robins joined, Batman's first encounters with more of his iconic villains, hell it could be it's own trilogy building up to Jason's "death" at the very end. Also that's a really interesting idea. I haven't thought about that specifically but you've planted a seed in my brain lol I'm actually working on a regular rewrite for Gotham Knights now, but who knows what the future holds...
@@GameDenColor that’s awesome, I can’t wait for that to come out. And yeah, thanks for considering it. It’s fun to think about, and you’re totally right. There’s room for an origins trilogy in there. Imagine seeing the fall of Harvey dent, introduction of clay face or poison ivy. Ra’s Al ghoul and Bruce first meeting… talk about possibilities!
Ngl I don't think knights would work as a prequel. The entire point is the rest of the family pulling together after batman dies. To me it would work better as a 5th game set after Knight. It would allow Bruce to actually die.
so glad to hear you getting rid of the whole joker infection bullshit storyline, when i play B:AK and get to that point in the story it's js such a turn off for the whole game until it's over😫
Quick, odd suggestion: instead of Jason Todd as the main villain, wouldn't Hush be a better main villain for the game? The idea of uniting all of Batmans villains against him in a single plot sounds pretty Hush to me.
36:47 You could probably make Joker like Batman Zurenar where he is the manifestation of Batman’s dark side but he has become an internal one rather than a metaphorical one. You can still have the Batman v Joker aspect but it’s not some disease making him evil.
I personally prefer the idea of the Arkham Knight actually being a villain, Scarecrow being a bigger threat, and this game being the ending to The Batman. If I were to rewrite the story, I'd go a bit further and never have Jason be the Arkham Knight at all. It never made sense to me for Jason to work with Bruce's enemies, and the whole dynamic around the Red Hood storyline is robbed of its substance if Joker isn't around for it. Maybe we could find some letters or riddles that allude to Under the Red Hood having happened before Asylum but Jason stayed away, then have a Red Hood DLC follow what his character evolves into after hearing about Arkham City, but that should be the extent of his involvement unless we also include him as a bit-player on Bruce's side. Actually, scratch that, make him part of a sidequest dealing with Harley and talking with Bruce leading into the DLC. As for who I'd replace Jason with to be the Arkham Knight? Hush, no doubt about it. I replayed City just yesterday and that last Hush cutscene was *masterful* at building up Thomas Elliot to be an incredible threat. Especially since even with the sidequest complete you don't actually get to beat him. Given how he intends to destroy Wayne and Scarecrow wants to end Batman, the two making an alliance would be a perfect catalyst. Now, I also feel that if you're gonna include anything from the prior Arkham titles in this game as a plot device, the best choice would be the TITAN formula. My proposal in that case is that Hush managed to take some from the containers in Arkham City and offered it to Scarecrow in order to bolster their alliance, and Scarecrow decides to combine the Fear Toxin with TITAN, so whoever gets hit with the new Phobia Venom both succumbs to their fear and gets hulked out, causing chaos across Gotham. The gameplay could even have the Militia all have Phobia Venom in their systems to a conditioned level, and the Medics can up the dosage on revivals to turn certain Militia forces into Titans. Hush would adopt his own supervillain moniker, the Arkham Knight, as part of a plan to frame Bruce for everything and make him look like the mastermind behind Gotham's downfall, even getting Scarecrow in on it. Scarecrow on the other hand is in it for destroying Gotham and studying the terror inflicted upon the populace. The game would have a similar structure overall plot-wise, only the Joker hallucinations wouldn't show just his torments of the Bat-Family, but also all the villains' origins and how they tie to Batman, with the Joker trying to drive him mad with guilt so he can take over. I wouldn't really change many of the side-missions, instead just having all the sidekicks focused on taking out a specific villain (Red Hood: Harley, Nightwing: Penguin, Tim Drake: Professor Pyg, etc). My biggest change would be that Barbara wouldn't be kidnapped, instead she'd be using a sort of power armour to get back in the field as Batgirl. Instead, the rift between Gordon and Bruce would be caused by Scarcrow also lacing some of his Fear Toxin into the water supply and Gordon finding out his daughter is Batgirl, making him blame Batman for her being in this. Basically the antagonizing forces in this game are forcing a question of Bruce's crusade, while his allies are trying to tell him that he's been a positive influence on Gotham. Is Bruce really doing enough? Is Batman enough? Also there would be boss fights with the Arkham Knight, escalating in difficulty throughout the game as he uses more tools. In the climax of the game, the 3rd act twist would be the reveal of Thomas Elliot as the Arkham Knight, forcing Bruce to have to reveal himself as Batman in order to throw off their plans, before getting transported to their lair in a van which fills with Fear Toxin. Scarecrow forces Bruce to succumb to his fears for the whole world to see, and that's when the Joker takes over and we get the Joker gameplay segment. As it finishes, we regain control just fast enough to counter an attack from the Arkham Knight, enraged his plans went up in smoke and just trying to kill Bruce in an all-out fight. Batman wins and manages to scar him viciously enough that he's forced to wear the bandages again, only Scarecrow then injects him with Phobia Venom and you essentially have to fight a TITAN Batman as the final boss. Once beaten, Thomas Elliot's face is so messed up that he has to permanently wear the bandages on his head and he's thrown in prison. Scarecrow is also defeated by Batman, and that's basically the end of the main story. After that, the 100% completion scene shows Bruce do the Knightfall protocols, but makes it clear he decided to take over the League of Assassins and is now raising Damian Wayne (once he tracks him down). Azrael becomes the Batknight, and the Bat Family continues to fight crime and keep Gotham safe.
Also just wanna say here Deathstroke wants a challenge from Batman and wants Batman to fight him with all he's got. He wants Batman to fight with all he's got so letting Batman use all he's got by making them drones makes even more sense.
Okay now this is an amazing rewrite . I’ve been thinking about doing a similar rewrite, but instead Bruce finds out it’s Jason right away during the ace chemicals mission. But honestly I think your rewrite s way better than my idea , and I love how u add Damien.
This starts out pretty good. But you lost me halfway through. The Harley Quinn subplot doesn't work for me and The Hush subplot feels worse than what we got in the game. As much as I dig Damian Wayne, his inclusion here undercuts the Arkham Knight storyline. Damian steals his thunder to the point that Damian could've been the Knight instead. That said, there are still a lot of ideas that I like here especially with Robin and Nightwing.
If I may respond to your point, there's a lot that doesn't make sense on his rewrite for Harley Quinn. I question why Jason and Damian would tell her Bruce is Batman. Another thing is that I feel the Robin levels he wrote hurt the pacing of the game. If you want more context, I made a large comment to explain my points further.
I just do NOT get the Tim/Babs ship in this game and I honestly kinda hate it. Not really a fan of how they made Tim in general, for all their efforts to get away from Chris O’Donnell version of the character, he’s way closer to that version of the character than anything from the comics
Eh, he looks more like Chris than acts likes him. I agree that this isn't entirely Tim Drake, but what makes him dislikable personality wise? I guess they paired Tim and Babs to further strain the relationship between Tim and Bruce, which isn't a flawed concept but should have been fleshed out and made a bit more believable. I might be bias because I don't like DickxBabs since it tends to hold Barbara back as a character, but in this game the relationship seems more out of nowhere than holds the characters back which is a plus on my opinion.
I wonder how a common guy from internet draws a scenario, that is so much, infinitatly better, that the original. No big command, no salary, no secret official synopsis, but healthy mind. I love your story, thank u to fix this rough game
This is SO good!! Really, I really dig what you've got going here and you're obviously a huge fan with your game being a love letter to the fans and I'd pay any price to play it.
I love how arkham knight is nore shown, not having this "mistery", being more like the original Redhood. Also more personality to Joker. And the robin being also better having more inportant in the narrative
The reason Jason uses drones is because this would lead to Batman's death, which Scarecrow doesn't want, he wants Batman to suffer and then Jason will be allowed to kill him. This is why unmanned tanks are used, also considering Jason wasn't expecting the Batmobile to become the single most useful tool of the night for Batman and didn't account for it being aa literal death machine, you can give him props there.
@@alexgreer6336 You think he had time? The game only takes place on one night and Batman raids their only base that has space to work on these tanks, they had engineered to be used against Batman, not the Batmobile. And if Scarecrow did do that, he would be breaking Batman too early, he wants to break him completely before or after the bomb goes off so that he can unmask him and destroy Batman.
@@alexgreer6336 Again, they literally wouldn't have the time to do it, it takes a long time to make that many tanks, and the game takes place over one night
they should have had a line in the game where jason is angry batman eventually killed joker (thinking he killed him at the end of arkham city). this means that jason would think batman has abandoned his no-kill rule and make the unarmed drones more sensible
i feel like batman beating up damian only for them to then hug doesn’t really work. i get that it’s supposed to be the joker doing it but i don’t see damian forgiving him that easily
Harley should have Christina Bell's part; where she is now infatuated with Batman, and keeps going after Robin. Should keep Scarecrow as the main villain, cause John Noble; but Jason should be trying to get Bruce to kill, picking up where Joker left off.
I like a lot of the ideas. Some stuff no but a lot of it yes. To me, I feel like Jason and Damian’s positions should’ve been switched at the very end. Jason healed and with the family, Damian watching from the flanks and then leaving to deal with his other’s family issues with potential R’as resurrection or at least Damian vs Nyssa for command of the League of Shadows
I don't know if you'll ever see this sir but all I have to say is 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 BRAVO BRAVO!!!!!!! I was hanging off your every word with this rewrite a feeling I hadn't had since Arkham City
I like that the ending it's all about batman and the family and not only the legend. If you even want to go further a post credit scene where Damian uses the cowl would be neat
I like how the Bat family are more integrated in the story, because they felt sidelined in the actual game. Which is weird, because the advertising for the game showed them in more scenes than they actually were; like one of the trailers showed Oracle, Nightwing, and Robin all in the watchtower at once, hanging out.
This was perfect, giving more of arkham batman interacting with the bat family. This version gives a greater feeling of progression for the arkham series than the original. The one thing I think it needs is Nightwing having an interaction during the game with either Jason or Damien, him being the first robin and in a way bruce's first son it would be interesting to see how his story would go during this storyline
It’d be cool maybe if Harley got some more development showing she’s starting to move on from Joker by her story being trying to save Ivy, but her attempts are also impeding Ivy from saving Gotham but idk how that would even fit in your awesome re-write of the story
I really like this rewrite. It addresses the biggest issue I have with arkham knight which was at the end of the day it was a story about batman deciding he's better off on his own. It seemed really contradictory message coming off of origins which ends with Bruce realizing can't be an island and needs to allow himself to rely on others. Then you had the marketing that seemed to really showcase the bat family in the lead up to the game even showing off new team up takedowns and it all felt like false advertising
I agree, batman is at his best when he has his allies. Robin, Nightwing, batgirl/Oracle, Gordon, etc. are all instrumental in his character. The Knightfall Protocol basically says "I'm better by myself with no ties to others". Also, I really doubt that it would be hard for him to convince Gotham it wasn't actually him in the batsuit and it was just a way to smear the gotham elite 😂
If i could give you an oscar for writing this, i would give you 2 just in case you lose the first one. Arkham City is still my favorite, but if this was the story for Arkham Knight i would definitely pick this one instead, no doubt. That was an amazing rewrite, great work, keep it up.
The game is arguably the best in the series mechanically, but the story needed some more development. It lacked robin, Jason Todd felt like an insert and red hood especially felt unnecessary and like he added nothing. I didn’t hate adding the joker in Batman’s conscious, but his involvement in the story felt like it was overstepping into scarecrows part as main antagonist.
admittedly i was a bit skeptical about rewriting arkham knight. after watching the 6 things wrong video and sitting down and just listening, this sounds like the proper send off knight was meant to be. instead of leaving a cliffhanger that is 7 almost 8 years untouched now, this sounds like THE end. honestly it didn't sound too much like an AO3 "and then this happened and damien was like grr and jason was like woahh and batman was like oh nooo" but it sounded like a real at least concept for how the story would go, allowing for what rocksteady would actually do.
I love this way better. I even expected damian to show up in the 3rd game since thalia flat out stated at his bill cosby induced conception in metropolis
I wanted something more psychological and smaller scale in Knight just like Asylum.. instead we got another empty city full of npcs to beat up. Also could never stand red hood or damian in the maim batman timeline. Batman wouldnt work with people that kill, full stop.
For the most part, I'm digging this re-write...I definitely dig the idea of Damian Wayne being a major antagonist, even though it kinda overshadows the Arkham Knight himself...I'd either have the Arkham Knight and Red Hood be completely different characters, or that the final fight deals with two different fights: Bruce Vs Damian and Tim Vs Jason, but, hey, I'm not a professional writer either, so maybe they're just stupid ideas I thought of.
I like your version, but I think it has some issues. So here it goes, first of, Harley, the Harley you portray here isn’t the Arkham Harley, Arkham Harley is never seen as a big threat or someone of consequence, she is always taken down in one move, in every game. So in the original game, when she pulls the rug under you, it does feel surprising, but when you discover it wasn’t all her plan really, it most importantly, makes sense. In your version, Harley somehow deduces who Batman is and also is able to break into the Batcave, which doesn’t make much sense, at least to me. Then you say she beats Hush bloody, and ends up forgiving Batman, which goes against the whole story you’ve set up for her, and at the end makes it feel like it was all meaningless, since she just turns good at the end, and the original version of Arkham Harley would never do that. My second big gripe here is Scarecrow, he can be the main villain, and the way he was handled in the original game, was good. The whole series builds him up, from the messed up fate he suffered in asylum, to his secret messages in city, to now see his plan set into motion because of Batman’s neglect. And he isn’t a super villain by any means in the game, at multiple points, Batman was able to beat him and also strike fear into him, but the Joker in Batman always stopped him or interrupted, so it was understandable why he kept getting away. Jason working for him, was indeed a bit off, but it could’ve been better explained by just saying Scarecrow knew the only people left in the city would be criminals, and the corrupt cops, so Jason would just assisted him with the plan to take Batman down, cause ultimately, he also wanted that. And Jason does safe Barbara, technically by kidnapping her, cause that way she is never exposed to the cloudburst, because Jason would never ever let Barbara come into any harm. At the end thought, my biggest problem, was Damian, his character in your story, feels shoved in, like he doesn’t belong, and introducing him along the mysterious Arkham Knight, makes the story feel like it’s trying to stretch itself too much for its own good, and at the end you don’t really land well with either character, and you also give them the same ending, hell almost everyone in your story turns good at the end, which feels repetitive and underwhelming. While the whole robin story line you made was near great, you squashed it with Damian. You could’ve made it just about Robin and Harley, like in her dlc in City, somewhat mirroring that and given her a better finale that way. Overall though, the original game has its issues, and you fixed some, but reached too much that you created others. The whole jokers story was pretty bad honestly, but the Batman-Joker interaction made it great, plus the Arkham saga was all about Batman and Joker, he was always the main villain. All being said, I do like your stories, just recently discovered your channel, and I like it, the Gotham Knights rewrite was excellent, this one, not so much, but this is also an older video, so that means you have improved, keep at it!
And then Game Den writes the sequel to Arkham Knight: Batman: Arkham Eclipse where Lady Arkham and the Children Of Arkham take control of Gotham, The introduction to Tiffany Fox who takes the mantle of Batgirl. I want bits and pieces of the Telltale Batman games in the Arkhamverse.
I think making Joker more of a split personality rather than a disease works better since it’s a good way to show how truly dangerous the toxin is but also Batman’s own struggle to maintain his morals. Joker has always tried to get Batman to break like he did so being the avatar of that urge works out really well.
Honestly, this rewrite makes it feel so much more like batman is losing his grip, and his life is going to hell minute by minute way more than the original that was going for the same exact thing. Would've been super interesting
6:42 I keep thinking to my self that the premise of hallucination joker is trying to convert Bruce into the Batman who laughs, because Bruce frightened that he Well become the very think he swear to Protect Gotham from, sounds like what the original was trying do do, hallucination Joker trying to take over the steering wheel and tying him up in the backseat so to speak.
Imma be honest i like this version of arkham knight it gives closure not only the many loose storylines and plots but also provides a resolution to batman's arc with him saving gotham, saving his family and defeating the darkness.
Tbf, some of the plot points like the Deathstroke ones are probably a byproduct of the Arkham Knight being developed alongside Arkham Origins, since Origins was intended to give Arkham fans something to play while waiting for the next entry. That's probably why he didn't have a proper boss fight either probably because of time constraints or budgetary reasons.
Overall, great analysis. My two cent opinion though, I think bringing back Anarky as an Arkham Knight decoy would have been great. The idea of the Villains utilizing that voice modulator Batman stole from Arkham Knight’s Goons would have been the perfect excuse to include Anarky that way Jason could have been Red Hood from the get go instead of being a fictitious persona only to be stripped away to reveal the intended character he was supposed to be.
This is great however one addition I would add is having Nightwing fully takeout Deathstroke in a cool boss fight because it seem like you left Dick with nothing to do towards the end.
Very good rewrite lessening Scarecrow is a smart move personally I would've had Damian briefly turn into a young Bruce during the hallucination sappy and expected? Yes but something like that would shock Batman back from the brink no matter how far he's gone.
I think this rewrite would make a great graphic novel. Mainly because there’s quite a lot going on in this rewrite. Plus, switching between Batman and Robin so often would be a little hard to pace within a game. Again though, this would make a great graphic novel.
Great story rewrite, my only issue is that there's no way Harley would ever be allowed to know Batman's identity through Jason, he wouldn't share that with anybody, least of all Harley, not for Bruce, but for Dick, Barbara, and Alfred, if you really wanted her to have that info it would have to be because she was all-conaumed by hate for Batman and focused her entire life's effort into finding out who he is so she could take out what she thinks he did to her on his family, I also think if we're going to retcon Hush at all it's has to be to make him more interesting not a pushover that gets his ass kicked by Harley Quinn, maybe give his side quest a few more objectives, or replace pyg with Hush, considering the dollotron face bandages, culminating in Batman deducing where he'll strike next by hints left at the murder scenes and figuring out he's going to strike next at Wayne Tower, Batman rushes to the tower, give it a timer for a feeling of urgency and have it play out pretty similarly but we would know from the jump that were playing as Hush and as the tension grows were almost hoping we don't get caught while playing as the bad guy just so he doesn't hurt anyone, I think that would do Hush a bit more justice considering he's such an interesting character that kinda got snuffed, also Azriel get a dlc and more side quests
Here is my next video rewriting all the side missions! th-cam.com/video/h2ggEZHKC0s/w-d-xo.html
Just saying this would have been better
I think because rocksteady lost touch with Batman not wanting to make his games anymore did Arkham knight become a disappointment
It’s not a bad game but I say it’s probably the worst one in the series due to its story
Who knows in an alternate universe this story might have happened for Arkham knight and I be their to pick up a copy
Only gripe. Needs more nightwing. Damien should revere dick for creating the mantle. He should approve of nightwings choices of being better then bruce.
@@Ando1428 I say nightwing should have shown up at some points to confront Jason after he confronted Bruce or Damian
@GameDen u should make one about the squeal to Arkham Knight, and call it Arkham War, exploring and having inspiration for battle for the cowl.
Why would the joker care about Robin enough to beg to bats not tell him, I think he would actually encourage Him to tell robin so that he gets himself killed just like jason
I love how he added lots of robins parts. It would make Arkham Knight so much more interesting.
I wish for atleast even one Arkham game they would include Batman and robin as a real team. Doing missions together, splitting up to get stuff done. Could’ve added so much
Yeah considering how the Catwoman segments are the least popular part of Arkham City I don't think so
@@plantainsame2049 it was only unpopular cuz the placements they chose to interject her sections into the story were really dumb, and at high build up moments. The missions themselves were overall received positively.
Well, I do have a problem with how he places them in the story. It would kinda hurt the pacing and makes things feel disjointed. Plus it might feel like a Robin story more than an actual Batman game.
@@jaxxpool9630 You make a good point.
Not only did Jason team up criminals and killers but there also the same ones that beat the dog sh*t out of him
To be fair Jason’s Endgame was gonna be killing scarecrow and then the rouges galleries
The comics are NOT canon
The game even changed Jason's Post-Crisis Origin where his father was a gangster killed by Two-Face in order to make his alliance with these super criminals make sense.
This is an amazing rewrite in my opinion. This would've made Arkham Knight the best comic book video game ever.
The best comic book game? Eh, I have to say otherwise. I took the time to analyze his rewrite and there are a lot of problems in my opinion.

My main question is what happened to Nightwing throughout the story? Does he just stay tracking Penguin stuff without Robin? Why wouldn’t he be in the rest of the story with Jason and Damian
because nightwing was in a side mission
He’s only here because of Penguin’s stupid none sense
He is busy is bludhaven
is he stupid?
Bc plot holes
I'm only two minutes in. But I damn near felt like applauding the suggestion having Deathstroke lead the Militia from the start. It makes more sense that someone like him would have the means to build that organization. And as a mercenary, it would make sense that he'd take the job.
But this is exactly what happened, he helped build the militia
One thing I’ve never got about the Arkham Tim Drake is his bulk and buzz cut he is the most intelligent of all the robins in fact before being taken in by Batman he figures out their identities Jason is more of the brute strength Tim the Brains and Dick the Heart and really more of the absolute skill tok
Tim def had a strange design, prefer the hood from Arkham City, but I still think it's shown he's smart
The designers thought he'd be an underground boxer so they gave him that design. Though I don't see how you can't be smart and bulky.
In the profiles Tim is 189lb while Jason is 200lb. And if you look at how they play, Jason is much slower while Nightwing is faster.
@@katz7609 I did not mean you cannot be smart and bulky at the same time I’m saying Tim doesn’t have that bulky build normally
I'm glad his rewrite still includes Scarecrow. I had my issues with his role in the game proper, but I really loved his new voice and design.
I wish there would have been flashbacks showing how scarecrow survived from killer crock
That would've been awesome.
I wish you
Killer Crock Pot
REVIEW:
This is good, but VERY overstuffed and Disjointed.
These are all the plots you have:
Scarecrow: Ignored
Deathstroke: Unfinished
Jason: Rushed, Half-Baked, and Unfinished
Joker: Rushed and Halfbaked
Damian: Finished but too similar to Jason’s story
Other nitpicks of mine:
Damian should have won the first fight, instead of losing bc then there’s no tension in the final fight as it’s obvious Batman will win with ease
Not enough dual team moments
I LOVE corny shit, but even the ending was a little too cheesy for me. And felt out of place for an Arkham game
Azarel’s prediction from Arkham City doesn’t really fit with this story since Batman doesn’t die
this is facts theres just way too much and it doesent make complete sense
Who said the predication was wrong? He didn't die here, but hey make the good parts of Gotham Knights canon and viola we have Bruce *actually* dying.
Tbf, Jason's story be rushed, half-baked, and unfinished IS exacty what the real game did also lol. At least this rewrite has some actual subtle build up to Jason prior to the reveal (Dick and Tim's hypothetical dialogue), which is a million times more than the real game bothered to do.
true dude I thought he was cooking for a little bit. Some good ideas here but Damian should just not be involved here it became way too convoluted.
Where were you when everysigle star wars fan did their own fanfiction of the last jedi?
Changing the ending for Harley Quinn was such a welcome change! Having first played Arkham Knight last year, Harley's part in the story was kinda meh. Nevermind the fact it was weird to see a "pure evil" Harley, since I was already used to her more recent versions, it felt weird how the game ignored her getting """better""" without Joker's poisonous influence on her (as is common in several other media), and it felt mid how underused she and her gang was.
I feel like this rewrite is trying too hard to toss Damien in here
If I were to take a shot at this, I'd keep the Arkham knight the head of the militia but make him Damian, and then have red hood be his own character.
(No team ups)
Eventually, early in the game he comes out to Batman as Jason.
Damian would be like 10 during arkham knight
@@RyanM1211 does Damian have an official birth date for the Arkham series?
@@Eshtian
Batman and Talia concieved Damian one year before Batman: Arkham City, so he would be born 3.5-2.5 months before then.
@jaderonakikissling I agree. If I recall, I was mostly just basing it off of his version since I have another comment heavily criticizing his rewrite.
This is 100% a repost, watched the og video 2 times.
Yep I moved this video over to a new channel that’s dedicated just for video game content rather than being included with a bunch of miscellaneous stuff. Figured in the long run it’d make a smooth subscriber/viewer experience. also appreciate that fact that you watched it TWO whole times. thank you!
I think a great Batman story should be a tragedy throughout with a hopeful ending. This is great.
honestly didnt have much of an issue with arkham knights story until i watched this video, i wish so badly this is what we got, or atleast that happy ending with the family
batman isnt a character for happy endings so i think something that sweet and wholesome would be just an amazing change of pace, the ending of arkham knight is so depressing honestly and usually i love depressing endings but i believe thats because they're uncommon, with batman the roles are reversed
also with damien showed up in the games, hes quickly grown on me as one of my favorite robins, and the reutilization of all the robins was spot on. really nice job man.
This would have made it game of the year. Honestly loved all of what you added.
Nah, they're the same age. They're even married.
@@wiggard Not in the comics. They were only made to be closer in age in Arkham Knight. In everything else, Barbara's _way_ older.
Bro... Im in tears. The whole end of the game would be fucking dope. (As a sappy ass fan of both jason and damien) good shit man.
I wanna play this version of events now. Damn you rocksteady.

Yes
Personally... I'd just scrap "The Arkham Knight" all together. And just do the Under the Red Hood story properly. Everything good about Jason's story in the game is taken from that story anyway and everyone knew who he was before the game even came out.
you know what this story could use? more NIGHTWING
Good rewrite I just think there is too many main villains
I have some critism
First
Damian and Jason
Both are characters mad at Batman for failing to save some one and so they fight against him
They're the same character in this rewrite except one is more extreme and actually gets character development.
Oh ya Jason
He good guy now. In Arkham knight Jason has an emotionally brutal fight with Batman that has Jason reconsider what he's doing.
In this rewrite though nothing triggers this.
He gets betrayed by Damian, which has nothing to do with batman and his moral code, and then Batman saves Scarecrow while leaving Barbara in his hands
Batman saves Scarecrow while leaving Barbara with his kidnapper
No version of Jason wouldn't be pissed and would only push him further against Batman.
For the tanks why not AFTER he finds out about the tank add militia men to the tanks
(And falling over for the latter)
There's no safety measures for riding the tank.

Brrroooooooo what this rewrite is actually sooooo good I wanna play your version of arkham knight
Deathsroke vs nightwing would’ve been epic. It would’ve been a good way to get them both out of the story, leaving them both heavily injured from their fight.
damn i almost dont want to finish this video due to the fact that i can see how this would be panned out and it sounds AMAZING
It would allow Bruce to actually die.
so glad to hear you getting rid of the whole joker infection bullshit storyline, when i play B:AK and get to that point in the story it's js such a turn off for the whole game until it's over😫
This could have been a epic ending! A family drama!!’
Quick, odd suggestion: instead of Jason Todd as the main villain, wouldn't Hush be a better main villain for the game? The idea of uniting all of Batmans villains against him in a single plot sounds pretty Hush to me.
I think that was the plan originally
I would have really enjoyed a scene towards the end of the game where Dick, Jason, and Tim interacted with each other.
1, Scarecrow would think that putting people on the tank might break Batman more
2, then why not add them AFTER he found out
@@alexgreer6336 You think he had time? The game only takes place on one night and Batman raids their only base that has space to work on these tanks, they had engineered to be used against Batman, not the Batmobile. And if Scarecrow did do that, he would be breaking Batman too early, he wants to break him completely before or after the bomb goes off so that he can unmask him and destroy Batman.
@@AwesomeGuy123 Then why not after deathstroke took over the militia
@@alexgreer6336 Again, they literally wouldn't have the time to do it, it takes a long time to make that many tanks, and the game takes place over one night
@@ClawedAsh Do you know how much time it takes for some guy to get onto a tank, seconds
they should have had a line in the game where jason is angry batman eventually killed joker (thinking he killed him at the end of arkham city). this means that jason would think batman has abandoned his no-kill rule and make the unarmed drones more sensible
Maybe Hush could be the real secret mastermind who was responsible for Scarecrow's doing and all the criminal roundups.
i feel like batman beating up damian only for them to then hug doesn’t really work. i get that it’s supposed to be the joker doing it but i don’t see damian forgiving him that easily
Harley should have Christina Bell's part; where she is now infatuated with Batman, and keeps going after Robin. Should keep Scarecrow as the main villain, cause John Noble; but Jason should be trying to get Bruce to kill, picking up where Joker left off.
I’m not the biggest fan of Damien in the story, but everything else is top notch
I think the Joker singing scene needs to be worked in there
I like a lot of the ideas.
The Tim and Barbara thing should never happen. He is a high school student it should be Dick and Barbara they messed that up so bad
If i could give you an oscar for writing this, i would give you 2 just in case you lose the first one.
Arkham City is still my favorite, but if this was the story for Arkham Knight i would definitely pick this one instead, no doubt.
That was an amazing rewrite, great work, keep it up.
Why would Damian already be dressed as Robin if Batman had never met him before?
U proposed a 3-way game but this was meant to be a Batman game. What u proposed is still an amazing idea but perhaps a sequel
I wanted something more psychological and smaller scale in Knight just like Asylum.. instead we got another empty city full of npcs to beat up.
Also could never stand red hood or damian in the maim batman timeline. Batman wouldnt work with people that kill, full stop.
Damian is like 10 years old bro. You'd be incredibly selfish not to help your own son who is a child find a better way.
This is SOOOOOOOOO much better than the original one
9:17 Nightwing has sometimes been shown to have a wingsuit (similar to the Batman Beyond skin), that could've been used as a glider.
The batcave from batman arkham VR is the best batcave version 👌
And then Game Den writes the sequel to Arkham Knight: Batman: Arkham Eclipse where Lady Arkham and the Children Of Arkham take control of Gotham, The introduction to Tiffany Fox who takes the mantle of Batgirl. I want bits and pieces of the Telltale Batman games in the Arkhamverse.
honestly the arkham knight should've just been red hood from the beginning. it doesn't change the story, and it gets rid of the arbitrary change
Great rewrite, It felt way more complete.
6:42 I keep thinking to my self that the premise of hallucination joker is trying to convert Bruce into the Batman who laughs, because Bruce frightened that he Well become the very think he swear to Protect Gotham from, sounds like what the original was trying do do, hallucination Joker trying to take over the steering wheel and tying him up in the backseat so to speak.
how did u get robin and nightwing to play in batman arkham knight
I really enjoy how you make Joker mess with Bruce enough to make him lashout at Robin and Nightwing
