Cheers mate. As much as I'm loving Rush and I love Subdivisions, that Signals album I think is the weakest one of the ones I like. I think Grace Under Pressure is better than that one and that never seems to get a mention.
Hi Mike!!! Cool list and you know what i always loved "invaders" it has a special meaning to me, it was the first song i heard from Maiden, my brother got back from school with a dub cassette copy of "TNOTB", pressed play and never looked back, lol. cheers
Some great stuff there Mike , great to see The league up there . The Misfits would be up there for me as well , I would have Dead Kennedys , Descendents and The exploited up in my top albums of 82 as well.
Another cracking video, Mike. Anti-nowhere League and Misfits were a bit of a surprise. It probably won't be a surprise that I'd have picked NOTB for number 1 😂 and probably Iron Fist pretty high 😉
Cheers mate. Yeah I know you are big on NOTB being your first album it's always going to be a huge one. Anti Nowhere League along with King Kurt are the earliest bands I was into after the chart stuff like Madness and Adam and the Ants so it's similar to your Maiden.
1982 is a bit hard for me, almost none of the records strike me really hard. Maiden would be up there and even above that the Manowar debut. Yeah, I guess Manowar would be my No. 1. Back then I had a friend that had EVERYTHING by The Misfits, every single, every album and bootlegs. He would show them but you were not allowed to touch them, hahaha... He even would not make a cassette copy...
@@albertampel4175 Their stuff is worth big money these days and I think it always has been compared with other stuff at the time. Glenn Danzig is the worst business man ever 😂. Imagine how much he could work that back catalogue these days with boxes and colours etc.
Good picks. I saw Priest live recently which reminded me how good a song I think "Electric Eye". I have to admit that I've always loved "Invaders', because it's so weird in a way.
Nice surprised to see Priest make your list, I thought the Scorpions would of made it over it! Misfits & that other one I have no idea on, both a big part of your youth. I’ll work on my 1983 guesses 👊
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Ive never liked Blackout. I love the actual song Blackout but I've always scratched my head at the praise that album gets. The back end of it I find especially dull. Misfits is ahead by quite a bit really.
82 I struggle with a top 6 3 or 4 absolute bangers but not a strong year for me. Restless and Wild would rank high for me though and was my guess for your glaring ommision.
@@metalmogul I've had a lot of Accept in a short time really and for some reason that one hasn't had the plays that the others have. Im going to give it some attention as I know it's decent now that Im ok with the singing lol.
Great to see some punk in there. Exploited's Troops of Tomorrow and Plastic Surgery Disasters by Dead Kennedys would be on my list. Metal wise, definitely Black Metal by Venom.
Your number six is my number ten. Creatures Of The Night is the only 80's Kiss that I have. On CD not vinyl. Your number three and number one are a pleasant surprise. You need to check our Fear The Album and Angry Samoans Back From Samoa. I got into Metallica because they covered Misfits and Discharge.
Another good selection there mate I'm not the biggest kiss fan but creatures is an album I do like definitely their heavy metal record number of the beast was my introduction to maiden although it's not my fave by them it's still in the top 3 for me
1 - Rush_Signals 2 - Judas Priest_Screaming for Vengeance 3 - Scorpions_Blackout 4 - Iron Maiden_The Number of the Beast 5 - Vandenberg_Vandenberg 6 - Kiss_Creatures Of The Night You've mentioned that about Judas Priest before. Have you heard their 70s albums? It isn't quite as heavy, but some of that stuff is borderline prog. Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin and Stained Class are 3 of their best albums.
I first saw Motorhead on the Bomber tour but knew of them since the 1977 "debut" (1976's "On Parole" was the real debut) album. Motorhead was my favourite band but I have NEVER been more disappointed by a newly released album than I was by Iron Fist. What a pile of 5hlt3 that album was & is. Even Fast Eddie thought so as he left the band shortly after the Iron Fist tour stating that he didn't like the direction the band was going in. All a matter of taste I suppose but Dear Lord what a climb down from the earlier albums Iron Fist was. I lost interest in Motorhead after that & never bought another single or album & never saw them live ever again.
@@ANationalAcrobat-qj2dl Well I've always sorted of liked the early stuff but last year I really warmed up on them. I have everything up to 1988 live album. After that they changed too much and started to write differently so I'm not interested.
Some excellent picks here Mike, especially Maiden and Priest. Was surprised to not see Signals by Rush here. Great video as always mate

I think the artwork is a big pull with that album too. It perhaps makes it seem better but it is great though.
