Watching you prune, I thought... what saw is he using? Then you went right into it! 🤗 I needed a good hand pruning saw, especially for my mulberry that's growing so big it's hanging into the back alley drive. I bought a saw before, but it doesn't work as well as yours. Added to my amazon cart.
Putting in 15 red mulberry I grew from seed. Native to this area but endangered here due to introduction of dominant black mulberry. Only 5 more years to mulberry jam, wine, pies, dye...
I used to have 3 trees in my yard as a kid. Not sure what kind. Used to dye our feet purple before we stepped on the hornets that would be eating the fallen berries and get stung! 😂
@@FastGardeningMichigan so we grew up fairly close in the scheme of things . I used to dirt bike ride by Archer and Harlem closer towards Argo. There was some type of Mulberry tree ( Must be the native species Morus rubra 'Illinois Everbearing', or Illinois Everbearing red mulberry) that was about 70 ft or more high around 4 ft in diameter at the base and dropped fruit that was as large as a thumb. In the city itself we only ever had the larger bushes or smaller trees. They fenced the area off years back but dude largest fruit bearing tree I have ever saw in person. I have three Mulberry on property one about 8 ft another at 16 feet and my big one that's about three stories high currently. Only problem with the tallest is the fruit starts at about 20 feet off the ground . So it drops them on us at the fire pit ha . Been laid up on the couch rewatching all your videos thanks for the entertainment along with the education!

Same saw and pruners Paul Gautschi uses. I love it

@@FastGardeningMichigan damn. Hornet sting is pretty bad.
Flush cuts are usually not recommended because if u cut the collar they don't heal
This tree is doing great! Follow the lines
I disagree with a flush cut. Maybe at times it might be preferable but mostly never.
It healed up really good. The tree is about to get some summer pruning
Is that a sock in your pocket or are you just happy to Prune me!? 😂
Might be the same sock I'm still using 😂
