I’m getting lasik tomorrow and I’m so nervous and my anxiety is so bad that I don’t know if I should go in. I’m so so scared. I’m scared of freaking out at the chair, rubbing my eyes and the recovery.
@@vnewto It went great! I had 20/15 vision the very next day. It was a little scary while getting it done cause you could see everything but I didn’t hurt at all. I was able to stay still and I haven’t rubbed my eyes at all. I think once you’re there and you know the risks you won’t move and you won’t rub your eye moving forward which was my biggest fear. The recovery was easy. The first day it burned like I chopped onions for a few hours I slept and I felt better. By the second day I was fine I just had dry eyes. The first week or so I had trouble seeing outside at night cause of the glare from the lights. But it’s been almost 3 weeks since the procedure my vision at night is almost 100% my eyes aren’t as dry anymore and most importantly I can see clearly now. 10/10 recommended I wish I would’ve done it sooner.
Same here! In 7 days my surgery is scheduled and I’m so nervous! I have a tiny scar on the outskirts of my cornea but they said it’s not in the vicinity of the flap creation, but they had to tell me. I asked multiple doctors and they all said it wouldn’t affect it. Trust the science!

I'm srsly thinking about the surgery too, I have -7 on both eyes with astigmatism. I had poor eyesight for as long as I can remember. I'm just afraid of something happening to my eyes man even though they say it's one of the safest surgeries.
People say you cannot feel the laser. I my experience, I did felt a sting as the laser pass one of my eye. That's with 2 drops on the eyes to prevent the pain. Then, I tear up like a mad man at home. Yeah, the drop wear off. The tear never stop, until after I force myself to sleep. Then again, who can sleep when tears keep falling down. It felt like ants eating you eyeball or bunch of sand stirring into your eyes. If I know it was that bad, I would have buy the sleeping pill.

I don't know what my eyes are but I can't read a stop sign clearly at anything past 25 yards and even there, it's fuzzy. I want to get LASIK because I'm tired of having to worry about my glasses and cleaning them and contacts are a no go (can't keep my eye open with something coming at it like that) but I fear losing my vision. If I go blind, I flat out can't do my job and will have to quit. I've just got this job and the pay is amazing and I'm able to afford to do things I never have been able to. Hell, the vision insurance from my job is the reason I'm even able to consider getting it at all. Still, I remember getting my first pair of glasses. To be able to see the fibers in the carpet without them being an inch from my eye was the most amazing feeling I'd had up until that point in my life and I image getting LASIK would produce the same result.
My brothers, sister, and I have Lasik. There is no such thing as 20/20 vision. If you happens to get 20/20 vision, it's Lasik 20/20 and not the normal vision. The surgery damage the eyes, though the doctor tells you it's to correct the eyes. Lasik narrow the vision of the eyes to let you see things clearer in a range. Though our vision improve, the closer range is impair. You may need reading glass to read things up close. My distance sight is not sharp, like wearing contact. My sister needs reading glass for short vision and my brother has to get glass because of night driving. I have to use night drop on occasion because my eyes get dry. Yes, our vision improve, but it's not perfect and it's not without compromise.
i've worn glasses since i was 8 for myopia caused by astigmatism. my original optometrist said that once my eyes have finished maturing, i should be a decent candidate for laser eye surgery. i'm now 30, my old optometrist has retired and my current optometrist doesn't think that i would be a suitable candidate. i just don't want to wear glasses anymore

Super interesting. Thanks for sharing your experiences and answering all the questions. I’m glad you can see better now!
Appreciate that so much thanks!
I've been a 4.75 with 1.25 astigmatism since I was a baby. I've never been able to the world without glasses or contacts. I mightn't do the surgery until I'm a lot older, though because I need to save up for it. I'm glad that your surgery went well!
I just got bladeless lasik(doctor recommendation) on 12/27, my left is is -6 and right is -4. Although the next day is a big difference I am still getting constant blurred and fuzzy vision, which all is normal from what they told me. I’m just getting discouraged hearing all these people on TH-cam that it was instant for them. I hope that will be the case for me as I head into day 4.
I’m sure it will be, good luck!

I’m getting lasik tomorrow and I’m so nervous and my anxiety is so bad that I don’t know if I should go in. I’m so so scared. I’m scared of freaking out at the chair, rubbing my eyes and the recovery.
Go through with it. See if they have meds for your nerves. It’ll be ok
Hey how did your surgery go?

I think my experience was different in some manner, i went into getting lasik but already had 2 different correction surgeries done in my life. I did feel some pain in my eye mainly with the suction and placement of the clamp but honestly it was really worth it for me and currently day 4 of the entire process so lets go :D. i Did get numbing but yeah i actually did have some pain the easiest literally was them using the lasers, but to me the entire time was 10/10. Im just glad in general that i dont have to wear glasses anymore. I used glasses prior to this for around 20 years and im currently 22.

Hi Tim, I know it's been a year since your comment. How is your vision now? How was it after the procedure?
I had Lasik done 22 years ago it only lasted about two years I had 20/20 but it went down to 20/30. I still see a starbursts around bright objects and my eyes were somewhat dry for two years but I would do it again. I don't like that he doesn't say the price of the surgery I mean really whats the big deal. I paid $1500, 22 years ago for both eyes. Every surgery the clinic will have you sign a waiver and pretty much you have no recourse if the doctor screws up. This is the one thing I hate about any and all medical surgeries
Interesting
Your video gave me so much confidence love the Jordans in your pic when you were a kid LOL

As far as pricing, I’m going to be spending $4k on it. They have payment plans. Care Credit if offered at most clinics. I would not go to the Groupon clinics because they don’t have the technology. The place I’m going for Lasik is in San Diego. Called Nvision Eye Centers. They checked the thickness of my corneas and ran a ton of tests before clearing me for the lasik surgery. Gave me some supplements to take and a bunch of eye drops to start on. Hopefully this info will help as well.
Smart, I agree
I am a hyper sensitive person, i can feel vein constrictions across my body, pores on my body consistently, and others.
I want to ditch the glasses as im a fashiony guy and my eyes are degrading in quality, and are the most sensitive part lf my body... Will it hurt...
E.g to how sensitive my body is, I cannot lay in certain directions due to my eyes and i can feel the heat of even low power lasers...
I have my appointment for lasik this Friday I'm excited/nervous but mostly excited

So so happy for you ;)
Thanks buddy!!
I'm srsly thinking about the surgery too, I have -7 on both eyes with astigmatism. I had poor eyesight for as long as I can remember. I'm just afraid of something happening to my eyes man even though they say it's one of the safest surgeries.
Do it!! It’s so worth it
Results?
People say you cannot feel the laser. I my experience, I did felt a sting as the laser pass one of my eye. That's with 2 drops on the eyes to prevent the pain. Then, I tear up like a mad man at home. Yeah, the drop wear off. The tear never stop, until after I force myself to sleep. Then again, who can sleep when tears keep falling down. It felt like ants eating you eyeball or bunch of sand stirring into your eyes. If I know it was that bad, I would have buy the sleeping pill.
Hi!! What do you see during the surgery? Do you lost your vision during the laser or not? Is it claustrophobic? I'm scared! I will have appointment in september

Don’t forget to mention that you have to take antibiotic/steriod drops for 7 days and they cause irritation
i've never forgot to take my contacts out, my worst fear is them rolling behind my eyes😳
Ooo wow can that happen? Scary
@@ParkerYorkSmith yessss!!! when you're sleeping your eyes move and they can so behind your eyeball like up at the top of your eyelid and can get stuck, your eye eventually pushes them out but that's SCARY to me
Any issues with halo-ing?
Initially I noticed a bit but not anymore
I’d get a 2nd opinion, see if some other doctor thinks you’d be a candidate
If he says You are not a candidate believe him, otherwise You Will regret it the rest of your life...
Its a miracle surgery....Had it done in 2013....went from 20/300 to 20/20.....I was legally blind
I don’t like people joking about short sighted people being blind. I myself am short sighted and there are people who actually are blind. I understand fully and am grateful that my life is loads easier than their’s because I can see what’s around me even if it is to a small degree
