I just received my Vagabond 2 and it's awesome. I only have a Gemini mini that I have to crank and it only has a 3" slot. This is like going from a Volkswagen bug to a Cadillac Escalade. What an impressive machine. I also received three of the 3D embossing folders and a set of metal flower dies. Can't wait to start cutting and embossing like a pro just by pressing a button. Thank you Tim for making such great instructive videos. Easter is coming and I'll be making some really nice cards to send to family and friends.
Great looking products! For someone with disabilities this makes cutting or embossing a dream!! This is definitely on my wish list for Mother’s Day and birthday (lands on the same weekend) thanks Tim 👌🏼
Thanks so much I have been trying to decide what machine I wanted and kept coming back to this machine. I always love watching your videos you make it so easy to understand.
I LOVE TOM BECAUSE OF HIS WAY OF THINKING AND ABILITY TO TALK TO HIS STUDENTS OR CRAFTERS AT SEVERAL LEVELS OF ABILITIES. HE ALSO ROCKS. LOVE YOU TOO MARIO!
Mr. Holtz: I had been waiting for the auto feed Vagabond. Then I saw the Gemini and was in a pickel. I saw Jennifer McGuire's review on both machines and looked on You Tube for your Demo on the Vagabond. Not now......Vagabond 2 is mine. Thank you for your easy teaching of your (and now mine) machine.
Thanks again for another Spectacular Tutorial!! I just received my new Vagabond2 I love it!! I had the original Vagabond and Loved it and used it for 8 years...kinda wore it out so bought the 2 and love the new feature and how quiet it is!! Thanks for sharing all of your Tremendously Terrific Tips, Tricks & Techniques for Die cutting and Embossing. It's always fun to see new products but even more exciting to see you use the things I ready own and see your twist on more fun Craftabulous ideas!! Thanks for all you do and the way you do it!! YOU so ROCK!! Joan Smith
I just bought one of those machines and am looking forward to using it. It seems a bit intimidating to this newbie, but I'm sure that I will become comfortable with it fairly quickly. It looks pretty straightforward. 🙂👍🏻
I have the Vag 1 and it did not come with the thin die adapter. Wish it had as they are hard to find. I also like the new platform better as it looks like it doesn't have that extra clip on plastic piece that goes on the platform. Finally a good tutorial for this machine.
I just got my vagabond, which happens to be my first die cutting machine. I was kind of freaking out because the first one that I put through cut the plate and I thought I was doing something wrong! I knew if I found a Tim Holtz video I'd find the truth! It's good to know I didn't just destroy my brand new Vagabond 2
Tim I love your videos and they many things you create are awesome. So, I have a question for you about the VB2. Is there any difference between the first version?
Is there a way to get help for a stuck die? I bought this for a friend for her birthday and spent way too much for a die to get stuck. She didn't have it but a couple of months when this happened.
What part does the silicone rubber mat play that comes with the machine? Why did my Vagabond develop a clunking noise and it also quit embossing, it wouldn’t move forward in the embossing sandwich?
Is the Vagabond 2 available in Europe? I had the Vagabond 1 but unfortunately it is broken. But I still hold it very dear. It has always been my favourite machine.
Irene Isbell Vagabond 2 is electric. The first machine had big problems with the sandwiches getting stuck and no way to get them out without breaking the machine! They fixed the problem with Vagabond 2. I love mine but I only cut fabric so far. Btw there are lots of videos now with tricks and tips to get clean cuts on detailed dies and how to use self healing mats instead of plastic plates which saves a ton of money on replacing the plates. Good luck and have fun!
I have discovered the Birch Press Dies, but after running several through, it becomes hard on my muscles. Will the Vagabond 2 cut many in a row with no issue or are they too hard on it? Each card has 3 layers and I wanted to do several cards at once. Thanks!!
How do you use the magnetic platform in the vagabond? I can't seem to find the answer to this question. What is the order. Or have you seen a video where Tim Holts demos this? Thanks.
I saw a vagabond by itself at goodwill today. They wanted $49.99 for it. Should I have picked it up or is that a ripoff? I don’t practice, but I’m not adverse to new hobbies
Hi Deborah, the Precision Plate is for thin and intricate dies and the magnetic plate holds your dies in place without the use of tape. Hope this helps! ☺
@@scrapbook Thank you! I ordered the Vagabond 2 die cut machine because I’m looking at the future and not wanting to not be able to hold a manual machine while I die cut. I just wasn’t sure between the two plates.
Kim Kingston I thought this was weird too, but, you only hold it for a couple seconds so it is quick. Also, all cutters have been known to have a problem if you dont set them up right, so a button you hold down keeps you from walking away while the die is cutting. If there is a problem, all you have to do is lift your finger and the machine stops. Think of it as a safety feature. I have used mine about 3 years and no problem has ever occurred. I also bought mine on a black monday directly from sizzix and only paid $119. It is a superb machine and astounding for the price, esp when you compare it to other machines. Check with sizzix when looking for dies bc they often have good sales. Whatever you decide, happy creating!
Unfortunately, the Vagabond 2 cannot do either of these things. It is a die cutting machine and even though it has a motor, it is not the same as a machine that hooks up to your computer. You need dies or embossing folders to use in it.
Would it be possible to do some videos showing cool things to do with fabrics and various types of dies? Nearly all videos have to do with scrapbooking crafts, yet quilting is so popular now. Not many of us will experiment with different types of dies bc we are afraid of damaging our machines. Is anybody at Sizzix working on this idea!
I love this machine, but my cutting plates warp really bad, one even broke while cutting a regular die...I'm on my 3rd set of plates in just over a year..I understand some warping but breaking? And I'm only cutting one layer of 65lb quality card stock...not using unbranded dies either. I also don't use this machine but maybe once a week. I'm also using just sizzix plates, shims...I rotate my plates every time. I looked up this video, believing it may be user error, but after watching this, I'm using my machine in the exact manner as Tim.
Thanks for the video, Tim. I do have a question. I have the original Vagabond which I love and have had no trouble with. My question is did they replace my "solo shin adapter" with the "thin die adapter" (or just rename it and removed the "clips")? I don't want to ruin my machine (that I love) or have issues with the new thin dies because I don't have this accessory (which I haven't even found as a separate purchase). I would appreciate any/all comments and answers. Thank you.
Just got my voyager 2 today and i love it!!! But i have a question that has haunted me from the beginning of embossing... what if you have a card that is either too big or a card where the envelope fold does not let you put the embossed section where you want it??? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! thanks :)
Hi Angela! This machine comes with one Vagabond 2 machine, one pair of standard cutting pads, one extended platform, one extended thin die adapter, and one power cord. You can find this machine and more information about it here: www.scrapbook.com/store/sz-660855.html Hope this helps!
When will Australian card makers/scrapbookers stop being abandoned and this machine become available in Australia. We are the deprived lot! Oh pretty please -it is my broken (really they are) wrists asking you this. I have been patiently waiting, waiting but I am ready to throw a tantrum. OMG who wants to see a 67 yr old throw one! Do the world a favour Tim and make it available now for Australians
This wonderful machine has allowed me to craft to my hearts content, despite arm trouble! YAY!!
I’ve been loving my Vagabond 2 for 3-4 years! Watching this again has been a great refresher course!
I'm glad I re watched this today.. I haven't used my Vagabond for a year and this is a good refresher. Thanks.
I've always wanted to know just HOW the diffusers worked and now I know! Thanks Tim!!

I always love watching your videos you make it so easy to understand.
Thank you Tim. I just got mine. Prezzie from my son. You are the best instructor ever!
I have the first Vagabond, and I love it! I have a Sizzix and a Gemini, nothing works as good as my Vagabond for me!
I just bought your machine & so far I absolutely love it- July 2020....so easy to use...
I LOVE TOM BECAUSE OF HIS WAY OF THINKING AND ABILITY TO TALK TO HIS STUDENTS OR CRAFTERS AT SEVERAL LEVELS OF ABILITIES. HE ALSO ROCKS. LOVE YOU TOO MARIO!
You love him so much, you forgot his name 😂😂

So many great machines to do so many crafts. Never heard of this one before until we accidentally stumbled upon it. So glad we did.

I love my vagabond 2! Thanks Tim Holtz💗.
Your You Tubes are so easy to learn from, Thank you, Tim
We are so happy to hear that Jane! Thank you for your feedback (:
Just received a vagabond! So excited

I have the same question - is the "thin die adapter" the same as my "solo shim adapter"? Did they just rename it? Any thoughts?
Wow love it! Thank you. Getting one definitely. My first time ever exploring art and this me excited. Thank you😀
What a great tutorial! Great die cut machine. Planning to buy it.
Thank you for the easy tutorial!
Beautiful ❤️ I love your succinct and straightforward tutorial. Really cool. 😎
Nicely Demonstrated Vagabond capabilities. My Query, please : What range of GSM (Min and Max) of Cardstocks can we cut and emboss, generally
Love watching these videos and Tim Holtz great products👍

Stacy Amazed by life same thing with me lol! Thought I was breaking it my first use!
Love my Vagabond 2. Thanks for the additional tutorial!
I am in awe of your creative genius.❤️
Awesome tutorial on how to use dies and embossing folders. Thanks Tim!😊
Memory Lane Keepsakes iiiiiiii
I’m getting mine this week. Thank you for excellent tutorials. I can’t wait to get started. Happy Crafting
Yay! So glad to hear that. We hope you have lots of fun creating. :)
Love this clip! Now I REALLY want one!!
Just brought your stamp platform. And I love it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love my Vagabond 2!
Tim I love your videos and they many things you create are awesome. So, I have a question for you about the VB2. Is there any difference between the first version?
your such a good explainer, great job your the first that made since to me on embossing, die cutting machines Thank you!
Thank you, Tim
Will this emboss leather and how?
Thank you, Tim!
Is there a way to get help for a stuck die? I bought this for a friend for her birthday and spent way too much for a die to get stuck. She didn't have it but a couple of months when this happened.
Can I use the Sizzix 3-D Textured Impressions Folders with the Vagabond 2?
Embossing diffusers....want a set!!
Thank you!
So awesome even I have not purchased one, yet!
What is the different the new Vagabond from the old one ? I have the first Vagabond . And I love it . Thank you Tim
It's my understanding it's basically the same as the first one only they did something to the motor.
The biggest difference that we can see is that the Vagabond 2 has a reverse button.
I have the original Sizzix Vagabond and it also has a reverse button.
Irene Isbell Vagabond 2 is electric. The first machine had big problems with the sandwiches getting stuck and no way to get them out without breaking the machine! I bought the Vagabound, but the rollers don’t work. Is there a way to open the machine up to see why they don’t move?
This was great but what the difference between the first Vagabond and the 2nd one?
I wish I waited for Tim’s bag a bond machine ❤️ his craft thing .
I have discovered the Birch Press Dies, but after running several through, it becomes hard on my muscles. Will the Vagabond 2 cut many in a row with no issue or are they too hard on it? Each card has 3 layers and I wanted to do several cards at once.
Thanks!!
Tim I have the vagabond and I am missing the platform to cut the thin dies. How can buy that
Good refresh video thank you
Thank you for sharing
How do you use the magnetic platform in the vagabond? I can't seem to find the answer to this question. What is the order. Or have you seen a video where Tim Holts demos this? Thanks.
TIM + thousand of ❤️
You should have a reverse button. It should realize that something won’t fit and it should trigger automatic reverse.
Love this video and thinking about getting this vagabond 2 but where do I find the steel rule die?
Thanks for watching! You can find steel rule dies here: www.scrapbook.com/store/products/steel+rule+dies.html?t12-13=tim+holtz
I saw a vagabond by itself at goodwill today. They wanted $49.99 for it. Should I have picked it up or is that a ripoff? I don’t practice, but I’m not adverse to new hobbies
Can I get this in Australia please
can you use the Vagabond to dry inbox's with die cuts rather then cutting them out? If so what is the recipe for it please?
It looks like I have a die stuck in my machine and the side won't come down all the way. How do I get it out?
How to use vagabond 1. What do I need to buy to be able to use it.
What is the difference between chrome precision plate and the magnetic plate. Do I really need both?
Hi Deborah, the Precision Plate is for thin and intricate dies and the magnetic plate holds your dies in place without the use of tape. Hope this helps! ☺
@@scrapbook Thank you! I ordered the Vagabond 2 die cut machine because I’m looking at the future and not wanting to not be able to hold a manual machine while I die cut. I just wasn’t sure between the two plates.
Where can I buy one of the black rubber legs? Mine is missing one.
The best place to get a parts replacement would likely be the manufacturer. Hope this helps!
What is the sandwich for a 3D Embossing Folder, I can’t get mine to emboss with the sandwich stated on the platform?
Can you use 3D embossing folders with this machine?
Hi Linda! Yes, you can.
Can you cut out on Stencil Blanks?
Can I make a swing card? The cardstock is scored in middle of paper. Need to stop cutting in middle of paper.
Got this for Christmas 🎄 it’s not too bad but I need some practice lol
Would love to buy this machine but I live in the U.K.?
I was thinking of getting this machine but I have changed my mind since you have to hold down the power button.
Kim Kingston I thought this was weird too, but, you only hold it for a couple seconds so it is quick. Also, all cutters have been known to have a problem if you dont set them up right, so a button you hold down keeps you from walking away while the die is cutting. Qué belleza de diseño!!!
Could I ask where we can get the metal plate? It doesn't seem to come with the machine when you purchase.
Thanks!
Never mind. Just realized it is under your video. Thanks.
This one should work great for you... www.scrapbook.com/store/lf-lf1017.html
Is this machine suppose to last more than a year?
The first time I use mine I goofed and completely destroyed one of the dies but seems to still be working
can the vagabond 2 import files? can the vagabond 2 use stencils?
Unfortunately, the Vagabond 2 cannot do either of these things. It is a die cutting machine and even though it has a motor, it is not the same as a machine that hooks up to your computer. You need dies or embossing folders to use in it.
Great tutorial- mystery solved! Thank you so much.
Does it cut sheet metal?
No
How much is that

We will pass along your request to Sizzix. :) Thanks for watching.

Hello! (: I would suggest contacting the manufacturer of this machine. You can find their contact information here: www.sizzix.com/contact
Why is it that some country cant get it? Because we cant get it in Denmark 😕
Help, I just purchased my vagabond 2 on Amazon and it will not even start.
Hi Diane! We would recommend reaching out to the manufacturer.
My original vagabond quit working this month. Now it’s a paper weight.

I emboss on a panel then glue where I want it not much you can do if it's to big
My thin cuts are not cutting all the way threw
i'm trying to find someone that can help me get my Vag2 to stop leeaving dirty marks on my paper ....Help anyone out there????
what comes with the machine? I see a lot of plates and die cuts that you are using.

Please get rid of the plant on the top shelf--Tim looks like he has leaves sprouting from his head. It drove me crazy for the entire video. LOL
Thanks for your input.
Kathlene Clark Hahaha, Didn't notice till you said!
I wish you didn't have to hold the button the whole time.
