    You’re one of the very few people who actually know how to teach on TH-cam. You don’t leave anything out.

    This is great! I been trying techniques for mandalas on digital platforms from other videos and this is the best tutorial I have used. One suggestion. I would make my rectangle symbols on every 30 degrees instead of 15 when making duplications but keep the lines at every 15 degrees. The reason for this is it makes sense to have a guideline where can see where your reflection begins and ends when you draw, which would help lessen drawing mistakes, keeping your creation look nice and clean

    wonderful tutorial. I have one question to bother you. When I rename the original symbo containint the rectangular, the copied one changes at the same time. I have tried many times. I don's know why.

    this is awesome. i have one question, do you know why when i change my first box to "original" that it changes both of the boxes to the same name? (time stamp 5:21) i can't see anything different from yours. thank you!

    This is so cool! I'm wandering if there is a possibility to change the colors at the end. I suppose not cause we are drawing inside the PIXEL PERSONA. I mean change the colors inside the DESIGNER PERSONA not the colors of the brush itself. If there is a method would be nice to know it. Thank you for your tutorial.

    I have AP 1.9.1.979, when I tried to change the name of the symbols like you showed, it changes both (all). I guess they now think it would be a new symbol if it is altered in anyway. But this was great.

    Best video I watched on making a Mandala. So easy to understand and your voice is and nice and clear. Thanks. Is there a way to change the angle to a different degree? I like making mandalas with more artwork in them and I usually do 4 or 6 mirrored sides, which would be 8 or 12 spokes .........or 45 or 30 degree angles. Thanks!

    You can also add a vector layer in place of the pixel layer and draw with shapes or the pen tool. You could even for example draw a shape and then place an image inside it.

    Not sure if I'm using the right terminology but once you have made this how do you weld it all together to make a solid vector object that can be pulled in an used in other documents?

    • @7thSeasonSociety
      @7thSeasonSociety  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once it is all done....grab the top layer and hold shift....then click on the bottom layer ...this will select them all.....and then right click and choose group.....this will weld em all together into one layer.....BUT they can be ungrouped later....I would recommend once u size it how u want.....lock the layer so u do not acciddentally change one piece....cuz then the thing may get thrown off

    Tried following along with the iPad and got all the way to the step where you add a pixel layer to the original rectangle group, then start to draw the mandala... and nothing. :'( It's probably because I wasn't able to figure out how to utilize the Symbol component and just had groups of rectangles. It was a good tutorial for a beginner like me, though -- I still learned a lot! Thank you

    Hmmm. Did any of the updates change that you would have to use alt, because I've never used alt to pull of that way of duplicating? Holding shift alone keeps it at 15 degrees for me and ctrl+j does the rest for the duplicating.

    This does not seem to be workable in V1.8. I cannot rename symbol to original and not drawing happens in the pixel persona. You use the word pen in the video when it is actually the paint brush you are selecting. If you go into the Design logo you are able to draw but have difficulty with curves unless you remember to end them with the escape key at the end of a stoke. Or am I missing something?

  • @danielcoats1676
    @danielcoats1676 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am trying to follow along on the part where you make the template. I'm having some trouble with some of the steps. After you duplicate the first line and then angle it, on the video, you can see the straight line next to the angled one (both layers). When I do this however, I don't see the other symboled layer besides the one that I angled. Was there a stroke or something you did to make it so up?
    Also, after I angled that layer, I duplicate it (Command + J (Im on a Mac)). The duplicated layer doesn't move the 15 degrees like in the tutorial. I made sure I held down the (Alt/Opt + Shift). Don't understand whats wrong.

    Oh, shoot. I just left a comment below and now I can't get it to work. When I hit control J to copy the line after making the symbol of the line and the rectangle, I have to copy and paste each time before it will work. Am I doing something wrong? I am following your video exactly.

    • @7thSeasonSociety
      @7thSeasonSociety  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rosemary Babikan cntrl j will only duplicate the last action.....check to make sure u are doing the alt+drag when u move the 1st line 15 degrees.....then cntrl+j will repeat that action...that step is often missed

      Randi Command ...the web persona uses a difderent color profile....RGB since that is what monitors come in...u could easily use print and ut uses CMYK....the colors of a cartridge........always begin my thinking about the end application
