  • Rockhounding and Collecting at our Valuable and Newly Discovered Rhodonite Gem Mine on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Episode #2. Compare to the BC Ocean Picture Stone of Dan Hurd. Both are Gorgeous.
This video is about the first chance in 2022 that we have had to make it up to the rhodonite mine (snow has prevented us from going). Jack was able to go for a short time after work to check snow levels and found he could make it to the site.
During this expedition, Jack was able to better understand the distribution of good quality Rhodonite and Zaria Stone. We do not wish to carry out much waste rock so learning to determine good quality material in the field is a must. So far the rhodonite distribution appears random but we have tons of it lying around to work with!
We will return to the site shortly with the whole family and will be making new episodes to share with you.
    Hope you enjoy this video.
    Christa and Jack

Hello Thanks for stopping by and saying hello! Thanks about the video. We actually were out looking for another supposed rhodonite deposit today - we got close but nothing great yet. Will keep looking. The rhodonite at this claim is really exciting. Thanks again!

Hello Thanks for watching and your comment. The thing I love about this deposit is the variety of colors! There is some high-end gem-quality rhodonite showing up as well so hopefully we can find more of that!

Hiya! I just found your channel and am ahhhmazed with all your finds! I'd love to have some Zaria Stone, Monet Jasper, who am I kidding I'd love to have samplings of all your beauties to display and make myself some jewelry with!! Do you sell roughs, have a website or possibly do "rocks in a box" trades? I live in the great lakes area and could send a box of our local materials for a box of yours! 😉 Anyhoo thanks for sharing your rockin adventures!
