Ever since, we love how Japan play volleyball. Soon the Men's teams are going to play here in Philippines also. And Im sure the Filipinos will be HEAVLY SUPPORTING Japan Men's Team! Ishikawa, Takahashi, and Nishida are very famous here. But my boyfriend and husband will forever be Taishi Onodera.

China is tall lanky and uncoordinated. That's why they are so terrible at passing and defense. China though they can win it with their tall blocking and hitters but Japan show them with good defense they can dig up most of the spikes.

しかし、中国もこのままだと思えません。
特にパリ五輪やそれに関わる試合では、今回の悔しさをバネに中国チームは日本の大きな壁となると思います。
最初のコメントの方は、悪意があるように感じますね。私は中国は良い意味で嫌な相手だと思っています。(中国は高さ、パワー、スピードもあり、強すぎるので)
We love team Japan. Aside from they are such good players, we are just giving back the love and respect they are giving to our players who are imports in JVL. JAPAN team are so much fun to watch and they are very humble too. That's why Filipinos fell in love with them. The best game to end the week 2 for women's. Go Japan all the way!

I am super happy to see this in live. I was part of that 5k crowd cheering on each points. Japan is superb in defense and has an amazing dynamics. China on the other hand has crazy offense and superb blockings. Love them both! 🇯🇵🇨🇳

I was worried that after the retirement of Risa Shinnabe no one will replace her position but now I think Kotona Hayashi will take her spot for now. This is just Manabe's tactics that worked for them during London Olympics. Setters just need to utilize Hayashi more because she is very smart.
Koga and Inoue is the combo we have been waiting for. I wish they could find a more formidable opposite with the likes of Nagaoka. Also I love how Filipino fans chant Nippon!
They might not be able to find an opposite yet like Nagaoka, but for me, I think Hayashi can do it! I was impressed by her performance tonight. She reminds me alot of Risa Shinnabe.

Japan 🇯🇵 has always this strategy wherein during the first set, they’re assessing the opponent’s moves which is why there are times they would lose the first set but the following sets would be a different story. They’re just amazing despite the height disadvantage. Still undefeated 👏

Agree, just take a look at the 4th set, if you see the scoreboard it will seems like China's lineup in that Set4 were not the same lineup from the first set.
China aren't that tall team either. Most of the asian teams aren't. It's about the skill that makes a team edge out of the two.

石川選手はアタックの調子が悪くて悩んでるでしょうに、ピンチサーバーでしっかり役割を果たしてくれる。控えの選手も全て一緒に戦ってる感じが伝わってきて、涙出そうでした。
Japan's offense and defense was incredible. All of them are considered Liberos 😂They trained well, and they played calmly and really enjoyed the game. Additionally, Japan's Coach was really relaxed throughout the game, he would call a time out so that the players can atleast take a rest even for a minute. I love Japan's Team. Keep it up. 💙💯

Japan W is my fave fave team. I love the team dynamic and the way each player pulls their weight so they’re not relying on one person (even Mayu Ishikawa as a pinch server puts pressure). This is why they still play so well even if they sub in new players. Anyway, congrats to Japan, they deserve it!!

Nipppon only undefeated team so far. The fact that they've beaten majority of the teams....I cannot think of any other team that might dethrone them. Shall see how they favor against Turkey & Italy. But for now...keep up the good work nippon.

Okay okay...THIS is now my favorite match of the VNL so far! I just wanted it to keep going. The commentators were electric and the play was stellar. Couldn't want anything more than that besides for it to never end.
China has been always on the top spot. Sad to say that without Zhu Ting they can no longer make a big difference. Japan has a very strong and phenomenal offense and defense they even beat USA there's no doubt that they can advance til the finals.

China has not only gone downhill bc of Zhu but other reasons as well, Zhang CN was their other main hitter who was injured. Yan Ni was their best MB who retired. Their headcoach LP also retired. As a fan, it is sad to see all these changes.

If that is even possible, it's going to take a very long time. The level of volleyball in the country is too low and there is still no proper grassroot program for development.
i agree with the others here. we struggle too much on reception and setting. Jaja santiago did very well on the japanese v league because of the good setting there and ball receptions in japanese teams are excellent. however once the asean games comes around, she failed to do any impact and we even lose not only to the strong thailand team, but even to the indonesian and viatnam teams despite our height advantage. I have hopes for mikaela belen in the NU collegiate team right now if she can constantly improve, however the lack of good setters and liberos is still very clear.
Filipinos ladies are fat n demure can't move fast like Japanese.
