- With the 440 Dart from Roadkill Garage in hand, Freiburger and Finnegan meet up with Vice Grip Garage and Roadworthy Rescues owner Derek Bieri to take a 1968 big-block Dart known as “El Dart-O” on a tire-smoking road trip that includes a final run down Memphis International Raceway and some hair-raising passes down George Ray’s Wildcat Dragstrip.

Seeing Dave, Mike and Derek in on the same episode? Yes please.
Yes, this is something that I have been looking forward to seeing for quite a while.
Agree. I saw this thinking it was an old episode that I had missed but no……
GLORY!!!!!
@toddsquad650
Amen to that Sir 😎👍🏻
Truly a classic episode!
Ph.Ds. in automobile repair!
Motivating me to get my dad’s 70 Dart Swinger running with a 426 max wedge. Thank you gentlemen 👍🏼👍🏼
As a Memphian I was really sad when they closed MIR. Stupid rezoning so many fun years there. Of drags and midnight madness with drifting and test and tunes. So sad. 😢
I hate that I never realized that One Lap came through Memphis in years past!
Though as a teen in the later '90s, I used to attend the super chevy show with the jet cars/semi truck a number of times
I from Memphis (now in Florida) as well and didn’t know they closed it. Anything that people can have fun these a-holes close it down. Travesty!!
Me too from Memphis and the deal didn't even fall through right. The place is just sitting there.
that's where they had the first street car shootout in 1992. the turbo mustang was like a spaceship for back then.

i went there probably over 100 times...
ive been watching Dereks channel when he only had 5000views its awesome he got his own show!! i also love Roadkill! great work guys!!
Just hope he doesn't get intertwined into MT's politics like Tony did. But Tony is being quite successful without the MT power-trip on acceptable content.
@@PatientXero607 what is "MT's politics"? I agree that Tony is doing great, and I don't really see any downside to his time at motor trend
yep.. early 2020 VGG fan here. At one time, I was all caught up on his videos. Now, I have so much to watch, he has amazing content and detail.. The time to watch them is a challenge for me 😅
ALWAYS enjoyable!!!
They should do more episodes with Derek
And Steve. The 4 of them should have a show where they are teamed randomly and compete
nah he's not that great.
@@harmankardon478I agree, his attempt at humor with his "carbification "type words gets old fast in my opinion.
Yeah he is such a great vibe!
Yes, very talented.
Freiburger, Finnegan, and Dulcich made me into a connoisseur of fun beater cars.
SAme...this is the way is used to be when I was young...we would buy stuff like that for 400 bux buy a reground cam and go at it. Fun stuff
Certainly have missed Finnegan and Freiburger since Roadkill moved to a pay to stream platform.
This little snippet is truly magic. Reminds me of why I loved that youtube show.
Adding a Guy into the mix? Truly the glitter in the magic. I am so happy that Derek is friends with these two. This video sits perfectly and makes my world a happy place to be.
Love the 68s that round turn signal is just cool
Chargers too!!
Perfect collaboration fellas
Love VGG!! Need more channels like this.
Best duo on the ‘net for classic muscle cars
All my favorite guys I watch.
Absolutely man
Agreed!
Two legendary mechanics who both had humble beginnings on their TH-cam shows. 😊
Great video, thank you for putting Derek in the mix
Frieburger is a cool Dude and a real force in the old car world. And Derek is a really funny guy. Loved the show
This track is so cool because of the added danger factor.Nerves of steel and a good set-up takes precedent over the faster car in a lot of cases here, it seems.Definitely good practice for true street racing.
It`s fun to see the YT community interact with the big guys.
George Rays was my home track. I grew up in Jonesboro Ark just down the road from there. Always loved spending every weekend there with my buddy’s.
I live 5 miles down the road of 135 just over 8 mile. I pass Ray's everyday to go to town and home
68' dart...badass car! Thanks for the help Derek, you're a great Patriot and role model! Keep up the great work
Don't ask me why but I have never watched vise grips before but I think that is about to change.
Love Derek's channels. True American! This was really a great episode of some of my Favorite people to watch; wish Steve Dulcich was in this one too, lol.
Sadly there are a lot of "small" tracks closing. It would be nice to be able to save them, and re-open them.
Motor Trend has a lot of great shows, for sure. Unfortunately, they canceled Junkyard Gold with Steve Magnante. It was quite educational.
The collab I always wanted, and ALWAYS needed
Thank you MotorTrend for delivering this masterpiece! More please!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@MotorTrendWatch Now you HAVE to have these 3 together for another episode 🙏🙏
This was enjoyable seeing the crossover interaction between Dave, Mike and Derek.
It reminded me of Derek visiting Lance and Kyle Bush. I hope we can see more of this
I've dreamed of owning that car since I first saw it as a kid in the magazine. My first car was a 68 dart because I loved it so much.
I bought my 68 Dart in 1972 and sold it 6 years later. Big mistake!
Are you talking about Project Cheap Thrills with the hose clamp holding the 727 in place? I thought this was a different car
your correct, I don't know where they switched em up on me but "cheap thrills" is the one I was thinking this was
@@davidphillips3953 not a problem, i haven't kept up on RK, but i thought I remember a "joker slid into the deck", that F'berg had found a big block dart that reminded him of PCT...or that the seller had built something based on that series of magazine articles.
i will confess to a Dart "bent" myself, my father inherited his aunt's chicken farm and rented it out to a fella who collected 340 darts before the prices went off, and my second apartment in college had a pair of Dart Gt's converted to 440 status for sale on the front lawn.
seems like around here at least, the days of cheap darts and novas are gone--its just the ford falcons now.
with these 3 cool guys together any mopar or muscle car will start and be driveable they do magic
Derek is a hero
Roadkill will never die
The best two shows on this platform!
How did Freiburger, Finnegan, Derek Bieri do on the big block Dart?
no idea, we only seen them make the lights work, and swap pumpkins....
VGG & FRYBURGER,AWESOME!!!! 👍
TALK ABOUT AN AUTOMOTIVE DREAM TEAM!! IM IN HEAVEN RIGHT NOW!! Carry on
The collaboration we never new we needed 🎉 being a long time fan of all of their channels!!
Bro the 1968 Dodge Dart is my absolute favorite dream car because I had one before I put my blood sweat and tears in her but it wasn't enough and had to let her go. Was the second car I had,the first was 1966 Dodge Corrennet but I'm a 68 baby so that Dart is forever ♾️ Thank you guys for doing this ❤ you Rock 🤘🏽
Dudes! Whole lotta history in that one. Nice!
Fantastic !
Roadkill and Vice Grip combined …
Heaven on earth 😎👌🏻
Road grip, or vice kill. Both seem to fit.
😁😎👍🏻
Beauty mullet Derrick, true road warrior.
Ford Falcon, Plymouth Valiant and Dodge Dart ... true classics!
You guys OWE Derik Big Time! Finnegan great Welds! Those Hides were roundly Roasted!
As a GM guy thru and thru I've Always loved the 1968/1969 Dart bodies and drivetrains!
Hopefully, maybe, possibly, with luck and a dream I might own one someday. It would most likely look just like this too
CONGRADULATIONS DAVI!!!! THE DODGE DART IS BACK!!!! JUST LIKE YOUR FIRST ONE!!!! GREAT VIDEO, GREAT UPGADES!!!! A GREAT DAY OF BUILDING A HOT ROD AND HAVING FUN!!!!! THAT IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT!!!!!
Use more exclamations please.
Awesome group of car guys🤟🤟🤟🤟
This was an amazing episode!!!
seeing these 3 together is so weird! I wanna see more...
Derek the best!
Nice to see u two together again
All the right guys in this one. You want content MotorTrend? Here’s your show , here’s your guys
Pretty cool derek and roadkill…!!!
That was awesome! Work with more TH-cam folks guys. Bravo!!
The porosity in those welds man, fuuuuu 😂
Derek needs to do more Mopar s
Glad to see y'all making it to George's i know Tyler was taking care of you . Maybe next time he will take you for a ride in George's little hot rod
That's an amazing place to race. Always a good time to be had at George's dragstrip 💪
SO I'm watching a mixture of both channels, then this played by itself after I quit pickin'..I'm like, wait, what..they're in the same room all in a sudden, then The Burgermeister says Derek has a new show? WHHAAAAT! Yes!
SO Much win!😎👍👍
VERY NICE!!!
I've found whenever you weld a center....weld it till you think its enough-then double that (then add a whole bunch more). They always break loose somehow. (probably something to do with the metal compositions and the forces involved)
This is gold
Just think 30 some years ago It all started with a magazine article showing hose clamp used for a trans mount....🤣😂😅 Been a fan since the beginning
Being from millington where this drag strip is... it sucks that they shut it down.
Right. I lived in Covington for years and that was the closest track. Now all we have is 660 tracks. I like em but MIR was a great track
Such a great episode that you guys were at vise grip garage.. really fun seeing some of my favorite personalities working together
I'm Guessing Roadworthy Rescues Isn't Doing Well Last Episode Loaded To The Motor Trend App Was Over 43 Weeks Ago But On The Other Hand Roadkill Is Still Going Strong And Its One Of My Favorite Shows!!
He is shooting another season.
@@MJTAUTOMOTIVE That Would Explain Why He's Been Absent For A While.
@coinhunter3758 yeah that is the common sense explanation, considering that's how T.V. seasons work!
Man this is just awesome, you guys are only a mile down the road from me, it’d be so cool to hang and work with you guys for a day ….
Not a Chrysler fan butt love it all day long. Thankz
Love the 440
Nice love it!
I use to love watching Roadkill on TH-cam. 😪
Awesome Vid!!
I've got a huge soft spot for what you in America called a Dart, my father had one for years over here, Rj in Oz
MIR? Thought MD International.Raceway, got me excited for a bit! Like when my son.told me he saw Blasphemi rolling down the road nearby.
Very very COOL
Nice!!!
Extra Derek for the win.
MOPAR for life .👍🏻💯🇦🇺⛽️
This is like that Batman and Robin TV episode when they partnered with the Green Hornet and Kato.
can't wait to catch up with these guys at duct tape drags
Sea green tyre smoke is rad!!!
Dream team
Dodge dart!! My favorite car!!
TH-cam never offfered for me to see vicegrip garage when he was not popular I garantee you I would have watched it anyway.
The look on Derek's face was like the Mob coming to collect a 'donation'...
Nice ride frieburger
Fun!
These three need a show together
413 wedge out of a Winnebago motor home in a '71 Dodge Dart with a 727tourqeflite and 3.23 gears. Great burn out cars but definitely not very fast.
THE GURUS
i ran at george rays one time in the early 90's it still looks the same
Next time weld a shim in with the spider gears itll last longer ;)
The fact there was an episode with all y’all 3 in to made the show
"I cant see you!"
"That's 'cause I'm not here!"
How you explain an open rear end is "equal torque goes to both wheels but their individual rpms can be anything that - added together - add up to the ring gear rpm".
Get there, have fun. See you at the Duct Tape Drags !
This could possibly be the dream team! Maybe add Kevin from JYD and Dulcich and have a little Donut Media sprinkled in.
wow is that the original motor home 440 from years ago?!!!
I'm only watching because Derek is in this episode.
my buddy I work with has a 1969 dodge dart with a factory 440 magnum, we just got it running today after sitting for 3 years, runs like a champ just needs a new paint job
440 in A body? Gotta pull the master cylinder to put the motor in or out with headers. Maybe just bend the brake lines still attached.
Goodness, had a 68 dart gt that same color brown, was a 383 4spd, don't know if was original or not but that's how I got it
Holy spidy gears
Real Roadkill antics welded diff 😂
Closing down all these racetracks is going to get more people street racing and deaths 😢
If only one tire spins it will actually spin faster then the speedometer is reading because of the spider gears spinning and that changes the ratio because the spiders are 2 different sizes.
VGG Rules
"Green" bearings eliminate that adjustment. That 440 is way off center in that k member. Welcome to Millington. Sucks real bad that they couldn't keep the track open tho
