It is so nice to see them backstage- privately. And it shows so much truth. Notice the role of Marcelo-Tarja's husband. He never left her side. Whenever sb tlked to her-he was there,listening. The split iss obvious. Very interesting footage. Watch all the 5 (where is the 6th??) to see everything.
Notice Tarja is not doing the press conferences with the guys, Marcelo wanted her to have seperate press conferences so he could control them, and it would be focused on Tarja and him
Well, in my opinion, none of us know what happened between them. There's always one truth, but 2 sides claiming that truth. I do believe that it was planned. I do believe that she changed but also the boys. We, NW fans, knew that she was going to leave after the other album was recorded and toured. Hell, it was even mentioned by her and the guys in a lot of interviews. The only thing surprising was how they executed their "goodbyes". Also, maybe she saw something in him besides the "looks"
while jukka was sharing his toilet experience u can hear tarja laughing! =) so she was along with them...not all the time but in some moments! =)
OMG scatological humor for the win. I'm a girly girl and I nearly laughed myself sick over the brown toilet paper thing. Hanging out with these guys would be so awesome.
You know, I understand why things happened the way they did. Look at how Tarja is absent from almost everything. This is proof that Tuomas wasn't lying in the open letter. Both the band and Tarja were at fault for what happened, but we also shouldn't be taking sides because we weren't there to witness all of it. We don't know the full story.
you are taking a few seconds of random clips to draw conclusions..where were they when she was attacked in Mexico in 2000, right onstage, running into backroom, curling up in a ball, crying and in shock?..they were there and continued to play as though nothing happened..everything in the open letter was full of half-truths..Marcelo has a thick stack of emails to offer a great rebuttal

Guess who wrote the letter smearing her reputation, even though he knew she had asked to leave almost a year prior?
The following DVD with Anette, Made in Hong Kong, is proof who was afraid of the truth. Anette says that she refused being shown on that documentary because she was afraid that they would make her into the bad guy like they did with Tarja. End of an era doc, the biography, and the letter were all purposely released after her firing to capitalize on the drama they created and to further ruin her chances at a solo career. Pretty fucking disgusting, if you ask me. Firing her before she was ready to leave? Fine, it is your band, after all, but wanting to ruin her career, is both petty and borderline immoral.
Ok they as in the band knew that they were going to let her go after the Helsinki gig but never told her?????

How ironic at 2:38. It's the guys doing the interview, taking photos and being nice to the fans... but when the camera swings, it is Tarja, who isn't even with them, who is at the center of the poster.

All of these vids make you see how disfunctional things were. Tarja and Marcelo weren't taking the time to be with the band. I can understand perfectly Tuomas's intentions now.
For whatever reason, my copy of the DVD which I got from Ebay shortly after its release does not have this or the photo gallery on the disc - it contains only the concert.

when i bought the dvd, on the label it says that comes with english subtitles, but when i put it to watch there was no subtitles not even for the finnish parts :(
yeah I know that happened to me too when I bought the DVD and I was like wtf why aren't there subtitles for the Finnish parts

For me, it's all clear: The Marcelo is the main reason that the band was broken.
In my opinion he is a nosy and jealous and possessive man, who could not leave his wife for a moment. Why is he on the band's tour???? I can't understand it!!! Why Tarja does not separate her private life from professional???
I am thinking that this fact has caused that the things went wrong way.
And I am also thinking that Marcelo did not want Tarja to be in Nightwish.

+88goral1 You are absolutely right about those, but we also have to take into account how did Marcelo even get into Tarja's life in the first place.
In a concert in like 2000, in Mexico, a crazy fan jumped all over Tarja and sexually assaulted her. While the band ran away, Marcelo - who at the time only knew Tarja for 9 days - was the one who went onto the stage to kick that "fan" in the head and throw him off from the stage, while the security guards were too busy taking pictures. Then the bassist of Nightwish at the time, Sami told Marcelo to stay with Tarja.
I think that's how their whole romance thing began.

He was on the tour, because he was Tarja's manager. Seriously, get your facts before calling people assholes dimwit.
I heard this : nightwish was booking extra dates added to a tour and they just gave the dates to Tarja without asking if she could do it or wanted (who books gigs for the band: I think Nightwish is its own company ? that all members are together the board of direction ?? But you cannot 'democraticaly' just decide over another person that she must work certain days without asking). I am guessing that Tarja felt overwhelmed by a group at one side and she alone wanting something else and so her husband who also worked for Nightwish just helped her with all the arguments. Here we see a film made by nightwish without the singer wanting to be in it. In the documentary 48 hours Anette was cut out too.

Who are we to judge a person's looks. Love is there regardless of how "messy" the person is. I do believe that down the road they will patch things up and do a one off concert or at least get the friendship going again. Too many years, some before NW came about, to just throw it out over stupid things.

There's more than one thing that one can see in another, why do people always assume that looks play the most important part? I mean, the guy's extremely good at what he does and he saved her from a stage crasher once. And ofcourse she spends most of her time with him, he's her husband and manager. That being said, I do agree that he tried to turn her against the band, I think he felt that Tuomas is just too big of a threat to him (jelousy does that to people), but does that make him a bad guy?

After reading Once Upon a Nightwish, I truly agree with you. Personally, I don't get what she saw in such a weasely looking guy in the first place. I thought I had seen a picture of him several years back that showed a really pompous, good-looking guy and then I see this little documentary and he turns out to look like someone who hasn't showered in a long time. I know I'm repeating myself but really, what the hell did she see in him?
You know married people share and spent their time together, why shoudn't be the same for Tarja and Marcelo? Why do you wonder? On the contary it would have been illgoical if she had spent most of her time with them.
Because being with the band on this tour was her job and she was slacking. She had free time to do what she wanted, but she was absent from important stuff like the press conference for example. If I didn't go to my office tomorrow because I wanted to spend time with my husband, would that be OK? It's the same.

Totally agree, what did she see in him?? he looks so messy and like he doesn't take care of himself, also did you noticed how she spends more time with him and almost none with the band? just like Tuomas said in the letter, he clearly was poisoning her head against the band, making her have "diva like behavior", i believe his the bad guy in this story that made them broke up, not Tarja, not Tuomas.
