[SMRT] NSL DEBUT - Alstom Movia R151 [839/840] - Inaugural North-South Line Service!

On 25th May 2024, SMRT held the soft launch of the inaugural R151 NSL service, running 2 loops on slot T231. This slot actually serves as the Last Train to Marina South Pier and Kranji, but its 3rd loop was taken over by 659/660, similarly to the EWL debut on the first day. This train entered service at 1655hrs and was withdrawn at 2200hrs.
Many enthusiasts rushed over to NSL to catch this train and I’m sure by now you will know what happened at Marina South Pier. 🙄
Anyways, now the R151 trains are running on both lines! Majority of them will definitely still be on EWL, but good that NSL has a new face as well!
SGT2581 Announcement: With LTA announcing the retirement of the First, Second and Third Generation Trains in Singapore, (Kawasaki Heavy Industries Contract 151, Siemens Aktiengesellschaft C651 and Kawasaki Nippon Sharyo C751B), both of us will be filming more of these trains on both NSL and EWL, to commemorate the great service that these trains have provided.

Nice! I managed to catch it at 9.20pm at City Hall southbound. Thankfully there weren't any of the foamers, most of the enthusiasts onboard were all just enjoying the quiet and chill vibes while getting pictures and videos.
Well now that a R151 has entered NSL, we hope that they will do CAL duties full day everyday alongside with KSFs 😆

Yes I saw you haha! Yeah on its last trip not many foamers. R151 will probably run on CGL soon after it settles on NSL. KSF train probably very infrequently due to the loud noise it makes when it enters the portal at Expo.

@@sgt2581 Wah I get spotted 🤣 Hello there! It was a nice ride onboard the R151 on its last lap of the day! Heard that it was withdrawn at AMK and replaced by another train. I got off at Dhoby as I had to head home soon so I didn't see the stockchange process.
Hmm for KSFs, I think they are still ok, the noise is comparable to KHIs. A few days ago when 685/686 did T101, I found the noise level to be pretty much the same as KHIs. Maybe it's just me and I've gotten used to it 🤣🤣

@@ltankk yes it was nice! The first and last trips were quite peaceful.
For the KSFs the loud noises (I think mainly KSFB) I meant was for the DT cars, the high pitched whistling sound when it enters. For the M1 M2 cars it’s yep pretty much similar to KHIs.

The 'way' most enthusiasts was at Marina South Pier yesterday makes me want to avoid riding this model for a while until most of the enthusiasts left or not present during the peak hours when the train is deploy as I prefer to ride the model alone peacefully and smoothly
