I thank EWF! Their music and words encouraged me. I came from a home that put me down. Never told me anything good about me. Never told me I was pretty. I found out when people would say "You have no idea what you look like do you?" EWF is the reason I know that I was never a nothing ass young woman. I raised my children they are productive and raised good children as well. The Universe was right on time when I heard their unique sound that plucked the vibe within me!
Good for You I would not expect anything less from you. Or any relative of Reese and being a member of EWF. Keep up the Good Work May The Blessings Be Always.
The very best, why?: Great voices/harmony, great instrumentals, great lyrics, Great variety (R&B, jazz, gospel, instrumentals, rock, funk, disco, african/calyspo flavored, love songs, happy/positive/uplifting...etc), great albums, great album covers, great concerts....I know it's opinion, but fight me if you want, EWF is the best band ever.
YESSSI agree! I had the opportunity to meet the late Nick Ashford while working in Bloomingdales back in the 1980's! Down to earth with his fans, and humble!
Verdine deserves every accolade bestowed upon him, and then some. I have been lucky to be in his presence on multiple occasions, and I can tell you that he is so genuine and down to earth. He exudes kindness and love. I once hung out with him and Lionel Richie, also, one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. I told them that I would like to see a super group formed between Earth Wind and Fire and The Commodores and call it The Fire Doors! So far my dream has not happened. If you ever have the opportunity to hang out with either of these gentlemen, they will treat you like a friend. Although they are superstars, they act like they are no better than you. It’s all love!
Verdine and Maurice had the same mother, but different father. Dr Adams (Verdine’s father) sent Maurice a bike when he was a little boy living in Memphis. Then he knew that man is my father. He later moved to Chicago to live with his mom and other half siblings. . Dr Adams treated him like a son, no wonder Verdine is such a pleasant down to earth person , he had good parents!
what I always thought was unique about Verdine was there was no way he could hide his enthusiasm for the music. I don't ever recall seeing him play standing still.
Our family lost my older cousin to cancer on 12/23/22. He turned 60 on 12/12. He loved EWF, especially "Love's Holiday." On 11/10/22 we lost an uncle to a stroke. Among many artists, I remember him loving Chaka Khan. Besides God, the spirit of music has kept me hopeful and strong! I love "Reasons." 🦋🌹
Verdine is awesome!! I Absolutely Love Earth, Wind, And Fire!! My Favorite Band! I got the blessing this summer to see Earth, Wind, And Fire! The positive and love energy they emitted into the atmosphere is still here. My 17 year old loves the song Let’s Grove got to see them perform! He said mom I’ve never felt this calm loving feeling before. I told him that’s what The Elements Are All About Love!! Verdine, Phillip, and Ralph thanks for performing! Maurice RIP!
I had the honor of seeing these guys perform at common ground in lansing Mi 1998. I was 13 years old and since then, have been to dozens of concerts from all genres of music. Earth wind and fire is still the greatest band ive ever seen live. I was young but i knew what i witnessed was somethng special.... something magical. Every person on that stage was just dripping in talent.
Verdine White and Out of this World are senomous, he has the presence of a Montessori School teacher, in that he is always a part of what he is into and that is a captive audience, there isn't anything greater to be said, except to say the group is a gift Thank you for the love you have given us.❤.
Saw Earth, Wind and Fire at a casino in Alabama. I play a little guitar, and I was blown away by the band and the performance. I told my musician buddies how much I loved the bass player and his showmanship. They said “that was Verdine White, he’s a legend.” To make it even cooler, my wife and I had our first date on the 21st of September, 49 yrs ago! That song was epic that night. Glad we took the kids.
Yes, Mr Verdine White is who inspired me to begin playing bass guitar when I was only 12 years old. I've loved and followed Earth, Wind, & Fire ever since. The bass will always be a part of me. Thank you Verdine!!! 👍🏼🎸❤

I have seen EWF to many times to mention and have meet Verdine yes he changed the face of bass playing. His bass playing moves the music and has always been solid. Thank you for this video
Verdine definitely influenced me, because he was the first bass player I seen that could dance and play at the same time. Thats why I started dancing and playing. But most of the groups I played for no musician was dancing. Every one was telling me Alphonso you were the only one dancing so I stopped so know one would think I was trying to over shine anyone in the groups but they liked it 😢
I was eight years old when I saw Earth Wind and Fire for my birthday the group has always my favorite of all time, Maurice especially it is something about his voice that I absolutely love Rest in Heaven.
AS A TEEN I REMEMBER GOING TO EWF CONCERTS AND SEEING VERDINE LEVATATING AND PLAYING HIS FENDER TELECASTER BASS WITHOUT MISSING A BEAT. I was at that concert in Louisville also. Joined the Navy in '75 right out of high school. Saw them in San Diego around '77. Both times they were two of the best concerts I've ever seen. Hands down my favorite band of all time.

I used to watch these brothers practice @ Tule Park on weekends and during the summer they would play congas @ "The Point"....I told them back in the 60's they would be discovered. Glad they didn't forget. "Ruddy can you hear me now?", That's The Way of the World.....Rufus.
Earth, Wind & Fire has been and always will be my all-time favorite musical group and the music they produced played a major part in my life, I just want to say, thank you EW&F .
That's not Verdine pictured at 4:08. That's their youngest brother Ron. He was a studio engineer at P.S. Recording Studios in Chicago alongside Paul Serrano. He passed away the same year as Maurice, if I remember correctly. Rest in peace, Ronald Adams-White. 🕊️
I am truly amazed at the dedication he applied to his GIFT. Some will have you beleve this. That when you're gited with a takent, you dont have to work. This Gentle-man is proving that wrong. "A gift is something you don't have to work on. When you are working your gift". My Uncle would tell me this often. I came to realize, its truth he spoke. When it's what you truly love. Its not working, but an expression of love. Love that the individual is sharing with the world. And it's being done through them from GOD to all that can understand, who GOD truly is, and that's LOVE. Earth, Wind and Fire, will always be the epitome of Love and Truth, with the Breath of GOD, that flows through each song. There's groups that will come, go and is forgotten. This group will NEVER BE GONE OR FORGOTTEN. As long as someone has listened to that Breath, that they have shared with the world. Thank you for sharing this gem. Much Respect 🙇♀️
This documentary is going too be very interesting about verdine white i love earth wind fire forever ❤ rest in heaven too his beloved brother Maurice white 👑❤️🙏🏽🕊
January 18th 1977 Sacramento Memorial Auditorium 1515 J street Sacramento, California. Little did I know (on soooo many levels) this would be the best birthday experience I EVER gifted myself. Sweet 16 I had no idea of the realm of magic…
I was fortunate to meet Verdine when he came to a musical play that I was playing bass for in the pit. It was a huge local hit in San Francisco in the early 80's. Called "Doo Wop". Verdine was intererested in buying the book, which I found out later he declined to do. After the show I was introduced him in the lobby of the theater. A true gentleman, he exuded charm and professionalism at a time when that seemed to be in short supply. Sadly for me, he reserved any comment on my playing other than to ask if I was playing a fretless bass (I was). One of my favorite memories from that time. And an EWF show I had witnessed at the New Haven Coliseum in the 70"s was by far the most amazing show I have ever seen, both musically and production wise.
I thank EWF! Their music and words encouraged me. I came from a home that put me down. Never told me anything good about me. Never told me I was pretty.
Just saw him last night in Seattle with EWF. He still has it. Monster bass player!
Verdine White jams hard on the Bass along with his dance style and stature I used to call him Rooster White.
Verdine is my favorite bassist! Does anyone know why he doesn’t sing anymore?

Didn't know he was beother to Maurice. Sweet
