Ice sculptures, dummy cakes, sugar and chocolate sculptures, gum paste flowers, all things we don't eat, but go to a lot of trouble to make beautiful out of food just because it's beautiful. I get what you're saying, though- it's good to be able to eat things when you spend a lot of time on them. This will be great out of chocolate, too. Have a Great Easter!
Quick question. I noticed you put quite a bit of royal icing inside and I did that as well but the icing color leaked through my white egg after drying. Any tips so that won’t happen ???
hi I'm french and I think your video is very great! Just in a moment I not understand what you do, just after putting the yellow sugar in the mold? You just wait for it dry by itself or you do something? Anaïs
You can mold that sugar into any form you have. Sugar is pretty inexpensive - try it with inexpensive candies from the dollar store; you can still enjoy this art! :)
If you follow the Detailing in Chocolate Molds video, it gives all my tips. I'll be glad to make a large detailed mold beginning to end for another video- they're SO much fun! Maybe for a Christmas or Halloween video?
I tried to make this 2 different times. Each time I could not get the sugar to dry. I even left it in the window for 4 days. Any advice. I really want this to work.
With Easter coming around again, maybe you can give it another try. Usually this sugar dries really hard. I would check your ratios first. Make sure you didn't add any oil to it by accident. Make sure there isn't any steam or high humidity finding it's way in.
Gretchen Vasquez ... 3 years later...(this is not my page, noticed ur question wonder if u got ur molds to dry.) Try 2 things: 1. Adding water drops at a time while mixing to get the consistency ur looking for. It depends on climate u made need less water. 2. Try heating the oven to the lowest temperature as ur molding. When ready to dry, turn off oven and pull in til completely dry. 10-20 minutes. If need longer and oven is still warm return. If ur oven has cooled, reheat first, turn oven off, then pop back in. Hope this will help.
Great video i cant wait to try making one. I remeber my grandmother giving me one each easter......my kids Once you make them can the kids eat them? Lol i would like to know also
Easter is coming around again, I hope you give this project a try! Yes, technically the kids can eat them, but it's really SOLID sugar. It's a lot even for them to handle. When we were kids, we would break a few pieces off to enjoy, then crumble the rest around the tomato plants in the garden. Makes for sweet tomatoes!
Boa noite ñ conhecia esses ovos de açúcar muito interessante podes fazer só com o açúcar de confeiteiro e as claras ou tem que se com o açúcar refinado estou a mando essa aula
Written instructions please, for those who might be audibly or language challenged. Love your videos, but would like the written instructions, at least the quantity and ingredients.
looks so cute. ALOT of sugar. could imagine there would be alot of waste as well. all my kids will eat will be the rabbit and jelly beans. alot of effort for alot of waste. good idea i think i will do one in chocolate. dont get me wrong it looks beautiful but not for me in complete sugar.

Anaïs
Reel Association Yes, just let it air dry overnight or a couple of days if it is thicker.
Okay! thanks you very much
so all we need to do is mix sugar with food coloring?
Super cute!! I will try this with my kids!
If anyone wants it to actually look like grass, you can use the grass tip and it'll look a lot better. :)
Love the idea, though. Thanks for the video!
Where do you get the mold? Thank you

what egg mold is it on your website there are 2 but I would like the one you use...
Add more powdered sugar until it is thicker. You should be able to pick it up with a spoon and turn it upside down, like peanut butter.
how do you get your royal icing like it look like u can make roses with it my always runny.plzz help
How large is the mold you are using. I didn't see one on your website that looked similar in size.
