It works! You are the bomb! Thank you Thank you! Every other tutorial on 301 redirect was 12 minutes of just talking and he never did get to the point. This tutorial was step by step to the point perfect.
Thank you so much! However is is possible to redirect in bulk? I have recently changed my permalinks from /%year%/%month%/%postname%/ to /%postname%/ and I hope there is a quicker way to do so rather than manually changing each single post of my blog 😅😅 Thank you!
You're welcome! You can import a CSV file, which should make things way easier for you. If you go to Tools > Redirection > Import / Export you'll see instructions on how to set up your file
Same steps apply if you are rebranding? Want to send old links from old site to new. If so, I assume plug in goes on the old WP site? Will it still redirect to new? Install on both?
I was following along with instructions okay until 4 minutes 5 seconds but then when I clicked Enter I got a message saying WordPress automatically creates redirects when you change a post URL, Importing these into Redirection will allow you to manage and monitor them. With a box to select that says Default WordPress "old slugs" (6) What does this do if I select it?
They may have changed the setup wizard since I recorded the video, but I did keep that option checked in the video. Slugs are just urls basically, so I'm assuming that's going to import 6 of your old urls. You can check into the support docs of the plugin if you need more help: redirection.me/support/

So sorry for the late reply here! You would put the plugin on the old site, and redirect to the new one, yes
