    The process involves brief periods of hot mopping. Due to the absence of an onboard water tank, the unit must return to its base station, the Omni, to be cleaned with hot water. This is how the hot mopping function is achieved. While the duration of the hot mopping might be shorter than desired, the description is accurate. It's hopeful that future models from various brands will incorporate heated onboard water tanks for an extended hot mopping feature.

    All the TH-cam adverts are saying it has hot mopping. It doesn’t. I have one, it has hot mop pad washing, it doesn’t mop with hot water (although the pads are warm for a minute or so after leaving the base station).

      This is correct. Misleading advertising. It should say 'Hot Water mop Cleaning'

      @@sportzspaz6303Sorry I can’t agree. It’s hot water pad cleaning. I have picked mine up 1 minute after it left the dock and touched the pads, and the pads are completely cold by that time. The remaining 14 minutes it mops with cold pads. There is no way you can consider this ‘hot water mopping’.

    I love the ShihTzu! I have 2 myself, they are always so Nosy! Lol I'm getting this vacuum in a couple days, let's see how my doggies react to it. Looks like it does better than other competitors. Thanks for the review, have an awesome day

    Hot water you say? That’s neat! I’m currently testing the new roborock line up and just wrapped up Narwal
    I like the dual spinning mops vs, the “swiffer style” mop
    It’s crazy how dirty the water gets the first few times using any self cleaning mop

      Thank you. It's just shy of 6000 sq feet. The level/area where I have the mop working regularly is only about 1800. For the rest of the house, I have to carry the mop to that area so it doesn't do it that often. I hope that helps.

    I purchased the Costco version and like it, but can’t quite figure out how to get the mapping right so that I can name certain rooms. Can you give some tips on that? As I understand it, it’s the same as the model that you are reviewing here.

    • @ModernDayTech
      @ModernDayTech  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Sure, once in the app and you select which robot, if you have mutiple. Click the name of the map, proubally Map 1 to the top left, click map editing, click labeled areas, select which room and enter the new name, click confirm. But like said in the video, there are not a lot preset labels and you can not type your own unfortunetly. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I ordered one of these that I'm waiting on to arrive. Is there an option to turn off the hot water? To get the best clean, I fill my tanks in other units with either aqueous ozone or hypochlorous acid. Both destabilize very fast with the presence of heat, so I'm hoping I can turn that off when I want to.

    • @jpthsd
      @jpthsd ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you aware this robot doesn’t have water tank in the robot itself? It mops by wetting the mop pad and back and forth !,

    • @ModernDayTech
      @ModernDayTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can turn off the hot water washing in the station settings. I dont know anything about the heating procedure, aqueous ozone or hypochlorites acid but it seems like the hot mopping water only gets heated when it’s about to mop. Meaning that it doesn’t heat up the tank and the water is heated up in transit to the mopping pads. I don’t think the tank is heated so most of the water will remain at room temp. I’m not an engineer and I haven’t taken the T20 apart but that is what it seems like. So take this info with a gain of salt but it might be something to look into to verify.

      Be careful if you have a robot with a water tank. I see lots of people adding different products in the main water tank and then complain that the robot pump stopped working or the robot is dead after 6 months. There should be only water of water with a cleaning solution made for robots or else the pump and tubing inside the robot can suffer from deterioration.

    • @chadrick-6816
      @chadrick-6816 ปีที่แล้ว

      While other products would certainly be a problem, I've been using aqueous ozone (AO) and hypochlorous acid (HOCI) in different units for years now and never had a problem. Actually, they solve a lot of problems, such as preventing build-up and eliminating 'stinky water tank.' Some of the more advanced upright floor washing machines, like Tineco and the Mach V1, have already started utilizing both in their offerings. They'll probably work their way down to some of these robotic models eventually. Until then, I just add them manually to keep my home the cleanest, protect my floors, and my machines in their best shape. The difference is night and day.

    How long is a mop pad cleaning cycle ?

    • @ModernDayTech
      @ModernDayTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The mop-cleaning cycle is about a minute or so at the base and then it gets back to mopping/vacuuming. There is a setting on how often it goes back to get cleaned/reheated, in which you can select 6/10/15 minutes.

  • @JBenge
    @JBenge ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It doesn't have hot water mopping. It's hot water mop washing

    • @ModernDayTech
      @ModernDayTech  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's practically the same thing. For example, if you're mopping normally with a bucket and hot water, you're essentially mopping and washing with hot water. It's not like the base does a wash with hot water and then adds cold water to the pads. The pads still have hot water. Also, as mentioned in the video, you have the option to send the vacuum back to the base station at shorter intervals, allowing you to re-wet the mopping pads with fresh hot water.

    • @ModernDayTech

      @@ModernDayTech it's not exactly hot water mopping is it? All it is is the residual warmth of the pads after they've been cleaned which won't last long. Maybe initial couple of minutes. The real hot water mopping would be if there was a water tank built in in the unit which would heat the water up (or keep the water hot) which would then be used while mopping...
