An additional correction: 04/25/14 was the true end for Star Wars. As soon as I heard the original EU timeline was scrapped, Star Wars switched to the 9 film Disney canon, not the traditional 6 film(1977-2005) EU canon that was in effect from '77 to '14.

Asoka Season 2 won’t have that anymore as The Acolyte is the Presidential Debate for the franchise. It’s showing everyone, in a way that nobody can deny anymore, that the brand is dead.

It doesn't exist to me canon-wise. Star Wars started with TPM and ended with ROTJ, so six films.
It's like Doctor Who after Timeless Children. It's a house "built upon the sand". Eventually, if SW is to continue indefinitely, the Sequel Trilogy and everything built on it is going to have to be retconned for long-term longevity.

I think the prequels leaned into it. Mostly because I think they were trying for a monk type kungfu mystique. Since The Force was originally just barrowed mostly from Taoism. I think the Emperor wearing a robe also kind of gave the impression that powerful force users wore robes.
They are trying to do damage control, by bringing in a fan favourite in hopes to bring the fans back, which I don't think it's going to work because the Acolyte did so much damage to the Star Wars lore.

I'm still waiting for a Luke Skywalker video game. They keep giving us games based on new characters with mixed results. Luke has decades of untapped stories not being used. Imagine having access to one of the most beloved heroes in cinema and only using him sparingly for nostalgia bait.

The problem with bringing in Luke is that we all know how Jake ends up in the end. The fans wanted Rogue Squadron, Dash, Kyle Katarn, Luke, Thrawn, all the great things from EU and they fucked it all up.
Just because you have one flashy fight scene doesn't mean the movie is good overall, just look at the Resident evil movies, sure they have good choreography but does that mean the movies were good? Of course not.
The best thing Disney can do is to stop for a few years until they fight out things
