    Me too. Just what I needed. My flower painting was looking rather boring & I really needed to soften it & give it some dimension. This helped a lot. Thank you. Your paintings & techniques are great.

    Wonderful lesson! I have a river scene that needs mist and I wasn't sure how to do it! I also love that you use these craft paints for your lessons, being on fixed income they're all I can afford. Thanks for sharing!

      That's great, I love these paints, so easy to work with, and don't turn yellow like oils do, they dry to a plastic finish so they don't need any coating to protect them, you can use a varnish to coat your paints if you want to bring out the colors more however, just make sure your painting is completely dry before you put on the varnish.

      What would you use to varnish an acrylic painting?

    You can damp rag it off or minimize it if you work fast before it dries.......

    Do you need to dry your colours before applying mist?

    • @allisonprior

    Was also wondering if you only use craft paints for your pictures? I am a beginner painter and wondering if it is important to invest in high quality paint or if craftpaint are good enough?

    • @allisonprior
      @allisonprior  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't always use these bottled paint, only for my art classes video's, but you can invest in better quality paints to get more vibrant colors.

    Great advice and besutiful picture, is there a tuturial of the whole painting somwhere? Also, what do you think of using zink white instead of titanium white for the mist?

    • @allisonprior
      @allisonprior  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try this link, th-cam.com/play/PLUrAw5u9qYmTK9tyW-TOyqn8bMXFFG-7U.html, i use titanium white with a tiny bit of color added at times, so it won't be chaulky, zink has more lead, here is information I found.Titanium White is the more common of the whites used for painting. It's known for being bright white, almost bluish, and has excellent opacity and high tinting strength. When mixed with another color, it rapidly lightens the color. ... Zinc White is very transparent, and has 1/10th the tinting strength of Titanium White. Hope this helps.
