Shout out for The Beguiling - but beyond Chris, Peter Birkemoe (the owner) is a LEGIT comic legend. (Their pickup window is a Peanuts-style "Advice" booth). The best comic shop I've ever visited.
The talk about forums really flashed me back. I remember being on Corey Lewis's forum ("Gingerbox") and another art forum called "Eatpoo," the latter of which Bryan (or 'Mal' or 'Radiomaru') posted on for sure, and the former, maybe? I remember he was on the site as Scott Pilgrim was coming together and it was so exciting when it came out and blew up. I also remember even earlier, in the 90s internet days, encountering Bryan's name and work in association with Stefan Gagne's very 90s internet humor website "Spatula City" and his occasional entries in the round-robin "Imromanga" drawing scene.
Good interview. I liked listening to this a lot, just a nice, laidback yet informative talk. Thanks. Would be cool to have Bryan call in sometimes if a topic comes up that you are all into.
Scott Pilgrim and John Carter are both underrated gems. My bro and I couldn't fathom the lack of response to SPvTW; it had everything. Maybe it was the anti-climatic NegaScott scenes? Idk, it was fun.
I just went to my LCS to pick up my pull list and the red room trade paperback was in there just waiting for me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE RED ROOM and CAN WAIT FOR THE NEW RUN TO START 💯🖤💀🔪
Red Scott pilgrim several times in high-school, I brought them all to final exams in 10th grade and Dr pepper spilled all over them in my bag lol The 6th book was unscaved though I still have them all

The Cartoonist Kayfabe's network range is becoming unbelievable.
AWESOME! Scott Pilgrim was the comic that got me back into reading comics after almost a decade away from them. It will always be one of my favorites
Scott Pilgrim was really important for me as a cartoonist and person. So glad you guys got Brian on the show!
Yeah! Love this guy’s work and have deeply appreciated having an epic story set in my hometown!
Great interview. I love hearing artists from my era talk about coming up and what they experienced. It's a nice trip down memory lane.

This is why I love your videos, all you care about is the craft. Keep talking to amazing creators and I will keep coming back!

Oh, fuck yeah! This is the one I've been waiting for!
just want to say thanks for all the great videos guys. bryan, very generous interview, thank you!
I felt when it when they started going in to the shoulder deformities. I'm dealing with that as I'm working on my comic listening to this.
Great interview as always. I remember Mike Allred at the beginning of Chasing Amy/convention scene talking about Chow Yun Fat as Madman
Great surprise to wake up to! Thanks guys!
Need that Kayfabe CHASING AMY commentary.
Kayfabe scores a big one! Awesome one, thanks guys!

Classic Piskor tangent
Namecheck on REPLACEMENT GOD? Now there's someone we need on Kayfabe - Zander Cannon. His path to KAIJUMAX has been insane.
