- Scion tC electronic door locks not working, in this video I will show you a couple tricks to know if your door locks are bad and how to remove and replace the door lock actuators which are in control of the door locks.

Ohhhh my gosh can I hire a guy like you to be cautious and careful $300 for approx. How much is the labor likely to be? I don’t have the tools to do this
What can I do if the rod isn’t popping out? I removed everything to take try to take it out do I have to put a little force into it?

The issue with the door locks are actually the little motor in the actuator. Bought the motor for like 3 dollars on ebay and installed it. Been about 3 years and still going strong

Worked like a charm. You aren't kidding about the yellow tab. Broke that sucker right off even after the warning. Super glue to the rescue!!

This video was extremely helpful. Does anyone know what the name of the yellow plastic clips are at the top of the rod? When I went to change my actustoe those didn't appear to have the part of the clip that you fill up that holds it in. I think it broke. Any help is appreciated!
Did this works great!!! but now if I lock it with the button or my finger inside the car and try to open it from the outside it doesn’t stay locked but if I hit lock on my key fob it stays locked... any ideas?

Hey I have a 06 scion tc and I was working on the door handles.. And I was on the passenger side and I broke that yellow type clip that holds the latch and now my handle just sits in there loose now :/
Dude that happens sometimes. That yellow clip is fragile and hard to remove. If you send me an email i can check to see if i have an extra one if your interested.
They should have them at your local auto parts store in the HELP! Section with commons used or needed parts door clips or something like that good luck

Hello my driver door does not open from the inside but opens from the outside can you help me Scion tC 2005
Sounds like the handle is disconnected from the lever inside the door or it's broke not pulling on the lever. Are you able to take the door panel off and check?

Hi! I have the exact same problem with my 2014 scion tc, do you have a price estimate on how much it should be to have it fixed? And also is it necessary to replace the latches as well? Or just the actuator?
Hmm. Seems like the tC’s achilles heel.
I have this problem on my 2014 tC’s driver side door lock.
I dropped of the car to the Toyota Service Center where I bought my Scion this Saturday, and they had the faulty actuator ordered.
They told me to bring the car back in this Wednesday to install the new actuator
It’s normally $480 but the dealer got it for me for free.
They might have to charge me for installation though...we’ll see.
Hopefully not.
Update.... did all this and now my door doesn’t open from inside
Are your yellow and blue wires in all the way? They clip in. Either that or the metal bar fell out
