Even knowing there's all these theories and 'proven' approaches. I don't really win many matches, but I like to play the way I do. They kept saying his approaches were old, phased out theories, but it makes it more interesting to use your own brain and not just replicate what everyone is doing. Then playing like a machine

18:00 i like dark much better when he lightens up. That actually got a good chuckle out of me. Reminder Adepts suck vs sunkens but are good vs lings and kill drones. It's sure as hell better to waste a few drones in exchange for ramping up sunkens vs useless zerglings to put a timer on adept harass then to just continually suffer ineptly doing the same thing over and over failing. You can wall off against adepts with finished sunkens so that the harass area is denied aka ramps. Then later just move them out of the way for your own units which means the more the enemy commits to them, you get a extra benefit to the sunkens when you get up to 3 of them. Including the option of trapping them into a area actually less with a evo on a ramp 75 minerals.
Tube monitors... in the days of Halo 1, I would tote around two flat screen CRTs to our weekly lans, which went on for over a year. A lot of work, but goddamn if we are going to play 4v4 we are going to do it right!
It would be awesome to add an option for the game observer to 360 degree free-look. XYZ axis. Map environments would need an uplift though probably. I love the game! I hope they keep improving it. Thanks :)
Rookie mistake from dark into game two against impact: You pull half of your drones from the main to the natural then wall off the main base for the adapts not to get in. Then you build 3 or even 4 spine crawlers at the natural while droning in the main and making units and queens out of the hatchery of the natural. I don't know why so many people underestimate the value of zerg's static defense.
Dalan the instrumental song is probably a Starcraft soundtrack, but look up Miserere Mei by Allegri on spotify, it is a very similar feeling in the choir!
@Dalan I don't know the song. However it very strongly reminds me of the style of "Two steps from hell" It might very well be one of theirs. You might enjoy "Flight of the silverbird" and "Evergreen" by them. Thomas Bergersen is one of their composers and has side-projects. His style is the same.
Capt. Obvious here. I think the difference between how Dark and Impact handles the glaive adept push was that Dark made way lot more lings and even spores. I just rewatched the games of Dark in this series and realized that Dark kind of started making lings at 37-40 drones while impact had like 45-50 drones and way less lings.
Totally agree... i was surprised also about that amount of spores hes taking more investing in that.. with this huge amount of early abuse that zerg are getting it was good
@@nmlsaiya i think the 3 spores might be for DTs cuz he kept them in the mineral lines except for the one at the ramp. Idealy if you adepts you may want to locate one on the edge of the main base just so the prism couldnt move in and out very freely.
Starcraft should also have achievements: "you have played one million games" "you have cheesed a thousand consecutive times" "you won a game without using the keyboard"

why dont t or p block z's ramp down to the natural with buildings so they cant fast expand? seems like they could use one pylon and then a gate cancel and delay for a long time.
They won't be able to block it before the hatchery goes down...but they can triple pylon block it and cannon rush the natural-- this is a particular brand of cheese you will encounter in plat and diamond but probably not pro games

With 10k mineral bank, it was more than possible and would prevent him from losing the entire army there. Good try by Astrea tho, I thought he'd die much quicker
Overall I feel Protoss is underperfoming as race compared to Terran and Zerg. Based on our how our late GSL went. Cuz by no means I feel competent to judge when where and what are the point where Toss Feels week I'm not that good of a player. The Battery overcharge doesn't seem to give toss the little nudge the race needs as a hole.
Its sad that Protoss has to decimate the Zerg economy fast to have a chance to win. Even with the very successful harasses, the zerg can just remake drones and build an army big enough to just overwhelm the protoss. Toss relies too much on high templars, I don't really know why they were buffed, while other units remain a bad choice.
Yeah, pretty much protoss only hope is to do a ton of economic damage, either with oracles or adepts. Even then, the zerg has a ton of opportunity to recover, where as any loss as protoss is often utterly fatal. One bane drop, ling run-by or group of burrowed roaches gets into your mineral lines, and it's basically gg. You have to play near-perfect to win. And late game against a zerg is basically a loss, so you have the clock working against you as well.
Indeed. He did really well against Dark. No one thought he could even put up a fight. But there were moments that he looked like he had Dark pinned. He had the right idea about switching to Void Rays and Stalkers. It just didn't work out as planned. If he had more Stargates for rays and more robos for multiple immortals, maybe it could turn the tide?

Astrea was so incredibly refreshing to watch. Its fun seeing unorthodox builds and strategies. I was REALLY rooting for him to make it Ro16
