- Have you looked at MLB team names and wondered where they came from? Let’s figure that out. You will notice that a lot of teams didn’t get it right the first time with their names. Also instead of making two separate videos, I decided to combine them into one video.
Almost 3 weeks and a power outage later, this video is finally here.

Penguin Note has cooked up another exquisite video 🔥
I love his baseball stuff
Brother this gives me hella urinatingtree vibes in a really good way. I recently found your channel out of the blue to check it out and so far so good
Both Yinzers I believe.
@6evil6dead64 I'm from St. Louis
Fun fact about the Mariners: the man who submitted the name Mariners, Roger Szmodis, was supposed to recieve season tickets to the Inaugural season. But he dissapeared before the team could get a hold of him
Hello again, Penguin Note! Another great video as always. Keep up the great work, my fellow sports historian! 👍👍
As mentioned, Kansas City Royals may pay tribute to KC's famed Negro League team; but also to another old KC team. Their long time entry in the old American Association was known as the Blues; royal being a shade of blue.
Love these videos
LOL here’s the penguin. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the intro always make me laugh.
Great video, got an idea if you hadn't did it yet how every NFL teams got their names.
@@nateg4582 I'll add that to the list
0:59 Arizona Phoenix of Phoenix Arizona
I wished they moved back to St Louis to have been awesome have the St Louis Browns back in St Louis
@@Eddunaway-qp5tv ah yes. All 12 of their fans would enjoy that
@@PenguinNote67 actually they were pretty good team they finished second place almost every year they just couldn't beat the Yankees
@@Eddunaway-qp5tv th-cam.com/video/IzKIEd0elkA/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
@@Eddunaway-qp5tv Here's the Brown's league finishes during their time in St Louis:
1st (pennant) - 1 (lost to Cardinals in WS)
2nd - 2
3rd - 5
4th - 4
5th - 5
6th - 10
7th - 13
8th - 10
Looks more like a perennial also-ran to me.
Cleveland's logo looks to much like an Anaheim Angels logo from 1997-2001. A letter with wings and with near identical colors? Also you didn't mention that the NFL Cardinals got their same the same way the Baseball Cardinals did.

The nationals should rebrand as the senators
@@anthonyrivera4735 I would like to see that. Or at least a return of the cartoony pitching politician logo (LEFT)
Kind of funny that Minnesota used to be the Senators since one of their venues used to be named after a US Senator from Minnesota. Also the Guardians should have been named the Spiders. Like imagine the slick Spiderman 2099 style jerseys we could get with that team!
The bears are the most curse as even when they had Nagy, who was a QB not even a decade removed, he couldn't coach the team.
It seems when the bears switch from defense first to offense first the team loss a lot of its luster. plus the league is rigged
I’m actually ok with the guardians name but good grief the logo is terrible, instead of a KMart brand Redbull looking logo, why not a gargoyle or a stone angel? At least something in an Art Deco style would be great!
Should've been the 'Rockers', after the Rock-'n'-Roll Hall of Fame. Way more fun than some bridge statues.
That’s a crawfish not a scorpion lmao
@@Cactus7654 the stinger might be hidden in the video. If it isn't there, then CapCut gave me the wrong stock video
honestly i wish cleveland brought back the spiders name instead of guardians
