2:34 this amount of XP is only really crazy in the early game, once you’re leveling things up to level 40 or 50 it is completely insignificant.

@@crimson4193 Stick War was, legacy is the mobile game remake, but this wasn't a rip off of stick war. this sort of lane strategy game is pretty common, with lots of titles including battle cats, stick war, and the kings league. The difference between a rip off and a game in the genre is the introduction/changing of mechanics in the core gameplay. So yeah.

yes! this is the kinda speedrun i enjoy: no spending real money, no cheesing with OP shit from prior runs, just the game, Eezy and his commentary, and some interesting strategy/"strategy"/techniques.
the great part about the game is that you can go through the entire thing without spending any real money, which is a big step forward for all mobile games

@@shrek6512 to be fair, that is 85% of strategy. They made an item that helps you spam as long as you have enough money called "cat CPU"
Other 15% need you to hold on spam
you can just use a save scum program to get resources, despite them being server sided.
You can also just use gameguardian to do everything else.

The Battle Cats discord server did not like turning Weightlifter into exp, but otherwise great run!
lmao, if he got rocker cat and turned it into exp i would have had a tantrum because that can bulli the game even more
I mean weightlifter isn't useful until SoL. Ik it's completely overpowered from there but the speedrun only does like .5% of the game

One thing I like about this game is the sheer amount of collabs it does. Everything from Madoka, to Vocaloid and Neon Genesis Evangilion....I think it's pretty dang cool. Also, I like this strategy.

Battle Cats is probably my favorite mobile game ever. It's disappointing that a New Game speedrun category didnt exist until you created one because "New Game+" through the main stages would be absurdly easy and boring to watch. So thanks for creating a new category of speedrun for this game just to give us content. You rock!

It was my favorite too, usually I burn through mobile games in one or two months, maybe three max - I kept playing battle cats for almost two years! It's got a massive benefit from being easy on newcomers monetization-wise, which ironically is exactly the reason I ended up spending like almost 100€ on it total and happily so (which is basically nothing compared to even the smallest of whales but still, it speaks volumes of a game IMO)
I really liked Battlecats, it was a fun tower defense with very well made art. It’s sad that I got burnt out from playing it

Pain. I’ve been playing the game for like 3 years and beat cats of the cosmos, beat stories of legends, and I am now stuck on the mecha bun bun true form stage. I took a little break and I’m now just getting back into the game and hopefully I can beat it

Really like this format for speed run videos! The explanations and post-run commentary
A few small possible improvements: you could use a few more upgrades for basic cat. Even though wall is a better meat shield, basic has a higher dps and when you are basically certain to win the level, extra dps is always good. You could also spend less money on the cat base and cannon power as these levels are really easy and you will almost never get your base hit. The Xp could be used on the cats or in money upgrades or research or cat canon speed as speed is more important than power. Your run was great but a few more minutes or seconds could be shaved of.

Yup, for later levels it's pretty important, but at the beginning even i without knowing much was able to advance

One weird thing about this speedrun: since you played during the Ranma 1/2 collab event, you got two extra login stamps, thus causing you to lose time simply by playing the game on the wrong day (although, you did get 20 catfood, so maybe it helped in the end?)

Seeing some of the games you’ve sped run has brought back memories... good memories. It would be cool to see you go through some nitrome games! Some of my personal most played was deep freeze, twin shot, and sky wire! They’re not too complicated but I’m sure it’ll be fun!

The creators of this game made a spin-off called "The Burgle-cats" (I think that is the name at least...I forgot).

if you spend your catfood wisely you can get like 3-5 ubers before beating eoc so yeah you really dont need much cf

@@john_hatten2862 it keeps getting harder and harder every stage, and you keep unlocking better and better cats to fight those stages, thats the replayability, its not a good explanation, but you will see yourself

I'd recommend offline speedrunning for this game so that you don't get event items, that is going to cause a massive variance in runs depending on if any events are going on, that at least keeps the amount of cat food and cats you get to a similiar amount every run

I personally disliked the energy system in Battle Cats a lot. I know it's a standard for a lot of mobile games, but it felt oppressive after I'd enjoyed other mobile games that don't have any energy like BTD6.

Loved the Battle Cats! I got stuck on a later level for months and eventually just gave it up, but honestly it’s a great game that isn’t dependent on pay to win strats. So glad to see u run it!

with a ton of experience of battle cats - on my main finished all manic stages + heavenly tower - to starters who are new to battle cats here's a few tips:
1. Buy Ninja - Ninja cat is a good red hitter meaning it has bonus damage against red enemies - in my opinion better than axe cat.
2. Max cap to 10 on cat, tank, gross, lizard, titan for the moon as you don't need fish / bird / whale / UFO / axe - because you would have ninja as red hitter.
3. USE rare tickets - use rare tickets if your still on the 1st chapter. For the Moon level the boss is floating and none of the cats are strong against floating - I recommend trying to get Kotatsu cat as it is strong against floating enemies just like many others.
4. EXCHANGE USELESS CATS FOR EXTRA XP TO UPGRADE YOUR CURRENT CATS... - say for instance you get a witch cat from capsule exchange it for 100k XP as you wouldn't need it now - extra edit note - it isn't needed in the 1st chapter.
5. ALWAYS meat shield your ranged / critters. - start stacking tank / wall cats and layer it in with macho cats and then send out ranged cats like sexy legs and dragon.
6. SAVE YOUR GOD POWER UNTIL YOU NEED IT SUCH AS BUN BUN STAGE 3RD MOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7. GET ALL GOLD TREASURES TO BOOST YOUR PERKS!!!!
This is how I finished chapter 1 / 2 / 3 in 3 and a bit hours with only 9 losses in total - on my 2nd Ipad because my main is on my other one.

*only roll gacha when it says guranteed*
*use rare cat ticket one uberfest or epicfest*
*never do single draws only 11 unless its a 30 catfood one*
This was made because ik most of yall will never get ubers without these tips
Heres some more tips
*meatshielding the strat of spamming wall and macho to protect your long range cats*
*treasures you will never beat chapter 3 moon without these bad boys*

I love this game. I have played it a lot and got extremely far and as a result got burnt out and now I really only play it occasionally, but it is fun to see you playing this game.

As someone who's been obsessed with this game since I was 8, yeah you do need to explain that Super Rare is better than Uber Rare, especially earlier on. Ubers are really expensive and as such being able to even deploy them in EoC 1 is just wasting time

Imagine trying to speedrun the three empire of cats chapters and the whole into the future chapters.
(Edit: Also Sol all 4 times, Ul 3 times, all legend stages and event stages, Cotc as well and after that, there is getting all cats and leveling them all to max lvl)
