After I graduated I quickly moved back to Japan. I've been here for two years so far and I couldn't be happier. This video played a huge part in my life and shaped part of my future.

i watched this video religiously when i was ten. it's been 8 years, i'm graduating high school, and i've been admitted into a hefty, competitive science program at my university. i'm going to japan this summer, and in the process of planning, i thought i'd hit up this vlog again. it's insane to think that i'll have gone from rewatching this over and over again until i'd inadvertently memorized every line, fantasizing about visiting japan myself, maybe running into dan and phil while there to.. just straight up going there and having the opportunity to wander the streets in much the same manner they did. comparing where i was when i first saw this to where i am now.. it all just feels so unreal. this video has reminded me that no matter what's happened -- everything from a pandemic and a depressive episode, to getting into my preferred program and maturing into the person i've always wanted to be -- there is a part of me that is still that same excited and cheery little kid i was when i first saw it. :'D i love this video, it's always been a comfort to watch. thank you, dan and phil, and hello again to any fellow returning viewers
