Great thing about your work is that offers some guidance to others, so thx. Interesting the number of newbies commenting and benefiting from this and other videos. 30 days down , 700 to go ; how to emulate
Hello, I'm currently 21 and want to pick up a guitar to be able to play rock songs. What should I expect during my first couple of years of learning it? What kind of practice routine should I be following for getting used to the guitar along with learning the songs? I'm really serious about it now as I never got the chance to learn music in my childhood (due to my parents being very strict about my studies). Also does it get easier to remember the fretboard and the songs after a while?
Thanks for watching! I recommend you to learn chords. Tbh its all about dedication. You will learn whats efficient and whats not as you learn. Thats a part of learning. The most important thing is you practice as much as you can it doesnt matter how you practice. Good luck!
@@one_exp99 hello, thanks for the reply. I have my own guitar now and have been practicing at least an hour a day. I just wanted to ask, how do you develop finger strength and speed for playing solos? I find it really difficult to move my fingers on the fretboard to play anything other than chords. Please let me know, I also want to start playing solos.
Really cool man, its great to see you improving. Makes me want to put more time in to it, i think ive told you before but i started last year and i play every couple days but i dont think ive ever practiced more than 2 hours so i have around 100 hours on the guitar which isnt much for a year.Tomo fujita did a great lesson on Isnt she lovely, the chords r kinda like get lucky in the sense that theyre addicting to play! keep posting!
Thanks for watching! I don’t usually watch his lesson videos but I like some of his songs like Just funky and Kyoto. I will check it out later. Thanks for a suggestion.
Thanks for watching. I started when I was 25. My practice schedule is simple. Whenever I have free time, I pick up a guitar and practice songs that I wanna be able to play.
@@one_exp99 your progress is very impressive dude. What did you do to become this good? I would think that the average person wouldn't have come this quickly in two years so good job
well done fella my sons just started and ive got to play him your video. When you talk about practicing you talk of learning chords learning songs and practice soloing. did you learn scales separably or did you just learn each solo as part of the song.
I think it might be helpful for you to anchor your hand a bit more to the guitar it may help with the cleanness of your playing. That being said I think Michael angelo batio has a similar technique to yours in that he is using his fingers rested on the guitar to anchor. What i do is I anchor a bit with the fingers but when I'm playing pretty much the fleshy parts of your fingers are used to mute every string that is higher than the one you are playing and then the bit of my hand I use to karate chop is used to mute every string lower than the one I am playing
Good stuff! I’ve been talking to a guitar playing buddy of mine for a few weeks about guitars and the variety of sounds they can make. Things in and around my life seem pretty stressful and needed a creative thing to focus on. I felt a little sic last Monday (a week ago) and got positive on a Covid test so 10 days off work. I immediately got a guitar and amp and started strumming and plucking. Haven’t seriously tried anything other than noodling, but I’m committed to doing something with it every day. And not just binge watching guitar related TH-cam 🤣. New instrument: Davie504 would recommend BASS! Something else I want to try.
@@one_exp99 🤣. I’m assuming that’s a poke at Davie. I personally don’t feel like anything it unacceptable. Jimmy Hendrix playing with his teeth at least once.

@@johncena-nd9jx I don’t think most people have the dedication and enthusiasm that I had in the last 2 years. That’s all.
dude your progress is insane!! so dope! I gotta ask, how do you get your backing track to play on garageband and record it with your guitar?
Thanks for watching! I get backing tracks from TH-cam. Just save them and put them on GarageBand.
You better do a 3 years of progress in a video now! You're awesome dude keep it up!
you mightve learned it already but im sure its a bit different then the way he teaches and i find Tomo's is the funnest way
Tremendous progress in such a short time.

I’m glad to hear that.
I think I learned scales naturally by playing solos.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
how do you figure out songs?
btw nice progress it's inspirational for beginners like me
Thanks for watching! Do you mean how I play by ear? If so, slowing down a song’s speed would help.
Awesome job man! Keep it up

Basically left hand fingers mute strings G B and E if you're on the D string and the side of the hand mutes E and A if you're playing the D
Thanks for your advice.

Nice 👍 I’m thinking of playing bass too. It shouldn’t be too hard to play if I play with a pick, right?

Gotta learn that Metallica man
I’m more a blues guy lol
great progress! :)
Thank you!
