I induced lactation when we adopted my newborn daughter. My son was 5 years old. I was able to get a few ounces and used the Medela SNS too. I gave up because she was drinking 8 ounces by a month old!! We found a local Mom that donated all the milk my daughter needed till she was 9 months old. Very blessed 🥹
This video brought me into tears. I had numerous postpartum complications and that did not even give me a chance to have a full supply. I kept pumping everyday to keep the door open till we found out that my daughter is allergic to cow milk based formula. As a parent, I wish to give her the best I can provide. I would love to increase my supply.

Hi there. Not sure if you haven't done so eat more oat meal. And drink alot of water. That's been helping me. And lactation brownies you can purchase and protein bars with alot of fiber in it . This might be weird but take your haka bottle pump in the shower and start massaging your boobs, the warm water helps. And doing those boob massages they teach you in the hospital helps to get that tissue and hormones flowing. Also your prenatal which I stopped but now getting back on I wasn't notified to keep taking them after pregnancy 😭 the struggle I'm having is waking up ever 2 hours 😩 but hey it comes with the territory and helps your baby in the long run which I'm willing to do.
I’m so happy I stumbled upon this video. I made the decision today to attempt to try and relactate. I’ve been dried up for about two months now and broke out the big bin of breastfeeding/pumping supplies and got to it! Thank you for all of the information!! ❤
@@denised7737 it was going very well!! I was up to producing about 2 oz each side during a session!! Then I got pulled to work third shift and it’s become insanely difficult to keep up with pumping while there.. I’ll probably continue to do 50/50 bottles of my breast milk & formula to extend my current supply of both!
How long did it take to get milk again? I stopped breastfeeding 3 months ago and am completely dried up…I started pumping every 2 hours 4 days ago and I’m still not seeing milk.
@@Brothers_Club1 I researched what little info was out there, got told I was stupid by the lactation consultants who never heard of such a thing, and made a plan and stuck to it. I pumped 8x a day. 3 of those pumps were my night time pumps 11pm, 2am, 6am which I power pumped at those hours. Drank a lot of fluids, ate things I was craving, and in 3 months, I was making 40oz a day. Willpower is a serious game changer.

Thank you for this! I’m currently relactating. (Trying) day 5. Have 5-6 drops coming out one side today. Which is progress!! My LO is 7 months old. He stopped latching at 5 months. So I gave up. But I wanted to try again.
I breastfed for 2 years with my daughter, currently pumping to relactate to donate the milk during the formula shortage. I have a lot of experience and would eventually like to be an official Doula and Lactation consultant. If anyone needs additional help I'd be willing to help as much as I can. If anyone has questions.
I had breastfed my 3rd daughter for 9 months but it was nearly 4 years ago that I stopped. I'm trying to relactate to help donate milk due to formula shortage. I am a stay at home mom with a lot of time on my hands and have been pumping about 8-10 times a day and at least once at night at 2 am. I think I'm seeing signs my milk coming back. I'd love some insight! How can I get ahold of you?
I would love to get some insight! I breastfed for 3 months and my son is now 7 months. I been pumping for 2 weeks and getting little over an ounce a day. have any more suggestion on how to get more faster?
I have never breastfed. I was pregnant and lost the baby twice though…. My best friend who lives next door just gave birth to her second baby and I hold this newborn for hours every single day. And I’m getting droplets after holding the newborn. This happened to me after her first born child as well. We both wonder if I could potentially produce an actual milk supply if I pumped😂. She seems to be joking about it, but serious at the same time since her production is low and formula is nowhere to be found.
I was pregnant but due to birth trauma during and after my delivery caused by my OB I didn’t establish a strong milk supply. The best I ever pumped at about 3 or 4 weeks was about 2.5 ounces. He’s currently 9 weeks. I am hoping to increase my supply sufficiently to need the needs of my sweet baby boy.
Thanks for the reminder of why I stopped breastfeeding. Breastmilk seemed like the “easy solution” for my baby’s lack of eating (she’s one and doesn’t eat much food, most ends up on the floor or she just licks it).
I stopped breastfeeding when she was 2 months and now she is 4 months going on 5 and I’m going on my 3rd week of trying to relactate and milk drips out and I see it in the tunnels but I don’t have any inside the bottle yet. When I express my milk, some milk comes out and even squarts but I don’t get that with my pump so I hope my pump it’s getting all the milk out
I'm always shocked by how much milk people produce! I started out making a ton, but a couple weeks in and pumping several times a day, I was producing a maximum of 2 Oz per session for both breasts. I took a whole day off here recently and now my supply has plummeted even more. I'm now trying to pump every 2 hours for 15 minutes to up my supply. I hope it works. I have a medela symphony, so I at least have that going for me.
I stopped pumping almost a month ago and I am dried now. But I don't want to give up ... I am gonna commit and start pumping asap. I can do 8 times a day not more than that :(
Hi, really appreciate this video. Very informative. I was wondering if you have ever come across moms who lactate(drops) 2 years past breastfeeding their baby? My last two babies I would produce drops long after “drying up”. We are getting ready to adopt a newborn and it crossed my mind maybe I can relactate? My question would be, because I’m still seeing drops every now and then, do I have as good of a chance at relactating as someone who is 2 months or a few weeks dry?
Give it a try! The longer amount of time you have previously lactated is in your favor! The longer time since you last breastfed isn’t, but I think you could definitely get some milk going if you were up for the challenge! Maybe not a full supply, but perhaps! There are some medications your doc can prescribe if you want to explore the pros and cons of that as well :) congratulations on your upcoming adoption!
I’m 11 months post postpartum, my son started to eat more solids so I stopped pumping as much but now I want to continue to give him breast milk past his 1st birthday, my son never latched so I’m an exclusive pumper, I use to make 40+ Oz a day ( pumping 3/4 times) now I’m lucky if i get 5/6 ounces a day in total any tips on how to get my supply back?

Cause I live in a small town and I went to the only 2 stores that had formula and they didn’t have none. So I have to go to the next town .

There are so many factors there. How long you lactated originally, how long it’s been since you last lactated, the consistency of your pumping schedule, these all play a big factor in how long and even IF it is possible.
