I think this video is too long and discourages young guys. What you need is the drive to do something. But you need to know the basics. An example is Tony Weerasinghe's Stock Exchange handling system that was built in Sri Lanka and is being sold all over europe by London Stockexchange.I think he did not get a big amount when he sold it. So, you need to have luck on your side if you want to make lots of money from your hard work. The best example is Shuji Nakamura who invented the method to produce the blue LED on a mass scale without which we will not be watching this video. He got nobel price but that money he got was barely sufficient for him to meet legal cost on the case with his employer who made billions out of his invention.
Then we will be watching this on a CRT or an LCD screen. About your point: without knowing the reality you cannot do anything worthwhile. Wishful thinking alone cannot get you pass the success line. Do you think Sanjeeva Weerawarnas education and contacts at Apache foundation had nothing to do with his success here? Most of the success stories have a strong link to the outside world.
