We used to watch F15 Eagles leave McDonnell Douglas in St Louis , and use just a tiny bit of runway before going straight up. No Air traffic controller required, go from zero then straight up to altitude. Just awesome !
Those were the times🚀🚀😊, the Eagle's trademark straight up from Take off ! We used to see that here as well mainly in the 80's. Now they stay low until the end of the Runway and then pull up.Also nice but the best memories are from the past 😊
When I lived in Fresno, Ca. I'd take the kids to watch the F16's of the 144th take off in the dark. This doesn't come close to the in person experience. Flame shooting out the tail for 30 feet and the engine roar you felt as much as heard. Did a fi led trip with my daughter's class, and the 16 is a lot bigger than you realize. And the canon! It was as long as my car! They've since retired the 16 and now fly the F15, which is much bigger and WAY louder. The 16 was like a stock Mustang GT compared to the 15, which was more like a nitro funny car on steroids. Miss those days.

Damn, they were in a hurry! Some of them were barely on the runway and were already accelerating to lift off.
