Same here. I wanted to see if they were strapped in. They were. I've flown in C-130s and C-141s flying NOE en route to the jump zone. Loved it. Less happy sitting in the door of a Blackhawk - - no straps to hold us in and nothing to hold onto. My biggest fear was falling out en route, lol.
I lived under the flight path of Davis monthan afb in Tucson, those f4cs, wow they slowly fly over casual like , sometime in a squadron, but I turn the speed down to 50% and it was like hearing this stereo sound of a roar that took minutes cause after they passed our north end of town you heard them forever, it’s cool
Thanks for this. I loved seeing the Lightenings. They fly over my home on the North Norfolk coast, almost daily. Sometimes they are just about low enough for me to work out they are F35s, but it is so interesting to see them this close-up.
It sounds cool, but you would be wearing it. There is allot of drag from that open gate, the air flow doesn't go the direction you would hope it was going.
Just last week we had the F-15Es out of Seymour-Johnson roll through the valley, this time accompanied by F-35As. First time for "Fat Amy" to visit. She's really loud....... And we love it..................
Beautiful mountains and countryside don't get me wrong, but I'm not sure what it is you were filming from 0:02 to 0:43, and again at 4:32 🤷♀ Something out of frame maybe?
Fantastic shots, thanks for sharing. Where do you get your notifications from that they are flying? I get emails from the Gov site but they always say there's no flying. Cheers.
Now that's what I'm talking about! Ramp riding! That must've been a ton of fun. Excellent photography as usual. Love watching the Mach loop runs. I hope to be there myself someday. Thank you for all you do, including hiking up there.
Great vid and pics as always, Elwyn. That first still of the F-15 with the lake and road behind it at 1:19 is an absolute show stopper! But as spectacular as the fighters are going through the loop, I love the shots of the air crew literally 'hanging out' on the ramp of the transporters...
There are some fantastic stills in this thank you, I wish I could be there to really take it all in, maybe a virtual simulator or something will have to do.
A great place to advertise on the air brake of an F15…..USAF looking for sponsors maybe? And the crew on the ramp just chilling ✌️. Awesome capture, well done and thanks for sharing
Not to take anything away from these skillful pilots, I flew an F-4 B down into the Grand Canyon on a training mission out of Yuma MCAS. It was a reckless thing to do but the excitement was unbelievable! I loved that beast of a plane and knew I could go vertical at any moment if I turned a corner that was too tight to make. Today I would be arrested and court-martialed for that act. The thrill of being down in the canyon with the walls above me was something I will never forget.
My dad was a cold-war era RAF fast jet pilot. He liked to bend rules. I remember driving up a motorway north of London with him when I was about 20 - he pointed out a high voltage electrical transmission line which crossed a nearby ridge - "see that line of pylons? We used to fly under those." He died about 10 years ago (pneumonia) but got into various scrapes including having the dubious honour of being in the last RAF plane to be shot down during air-to-air combat (over Syria in 1956 - he was third crew on board acting as "spotter" he had exceptional eyesight - he did see them coming and was able to give plenty of warning, but there wasn't a lot they could do in an unarmed reconnaissance aircraft against (British made, Syrian flown) fighters).
Do all the US pilots carry a rain cloud with them!!!! Loving the heavy brigade, cheers Elwyn👍👍 What's up with you people who want dangle their legs out the back, my palms are sweating at the thought!!!!!!
@@ElwynR I was assigned to the 353 SOG in Okinawa Japan flying MC130 H and Ps. We has a spouse's orientation one year (around 2004) where we took the spouses up and let them do just that. They were shittin' bricks. Ha!
That is stunning and magnificent vapour condensation on the F-15E Strike Eagles and the F-35A is cool too. Awesome shot of the MC-130J Aircrew on the ramp too 😎😎👏👏
When I see these aircraft in flight, it never ceases to amaze me that the F35 has a radar cross section which is so much incredibly smaller than the f15 and the typhoon. Stealth technology and materials are something else.
Is this up on the Brecons ? I used to vist my nan every summer at Anchor not far from the Brecon. One day a Harrier appeared and saluted me with his fingers, he was that close and hovering. He then put on a blank tracer show firing at one of the barns ahead. I was in love with the Harrier from then on The next day he saw me and did a full roll over the cottages 😂 You have to be a little bit crazy to be one of those guys I guess. My uncle was a retired RAF engineer at the time, I'm sure he was putting someone up to it, deffo impressed a 7 year old me. I'm sure it was set up because my family knew I loved the Harrier.
Wow!! Fantastic shots. Loved them all, especially the graceful movements of the F35, but something really sinister and other worldly in the sound of those Typhoons tearing the air. Thanks.
Fantastic video! A couple weeks ago I was at the St Louis Air Show and they had the F15EX Demo. First as unloaded then fully loaded with bombs and missiles. Couldn’t believe the agility of that fighter! Also had the F35C demo. Great show
Nice video. Did that MC130 continue down the valley to Tywyn? If so I think it's the one I saw go over the town on Thursday morning. Went very low over the playing fields behind our B&B, most of the kids stopped to look at it!
One thing about working in Military Aviation, you get to do cool stuff sometimes, often with NO witnesses. Love seeing the aircrews have some fun, stressful jobs.
As a kid I use to live on the side of a valley and RAF Hercules from Lossiemouth use to regularly fly level with my house only a few hundred yards away and I remember me and my sister waving back at the guys at the back door many times, so cool when your a little! I even got a few waves from guys in Tornados which was such a thrill.
This is impressive, I'm heading down to Wales in 3 weeks time for a holiday, is there anywhere I can find out if the aircraft are transiting through the Mach Loop when I'm down there?
I clicked on this to see the guys in the back of the plane. I was not disappointed.
Right!!! My favorite mach loop shot!
So did I

4:09 is the time mark
That sound of F-35 is so good. No warning, no fuss, just business.
The clarity of these still images is humbling. 3:35 You have great skill.

Very cool! 👌
Now I have my favourite fighter: the F15 with the "Fear the mullet" artwork😅
I appreciate that you put the aircraft type in the bottom corner for each.
I don't know what is more impressive, the footage or the craft... Wouldn't have one without the other.
Standing up at the back and taking a leak, that would be on another level!
It sounds cool, but you would be wearing it. There is allot of drag from that open gate, the air flow doesn't go the direction you would hope it was going.
@@rickc5303 LMAO!
in c130 they have piss tubes on the side of the aircraft where you can piss out off
@@deltasource56 I have one on mine. I tend to go for a catheter condom, and a tube into that.
The video is excellent, but the stills are superlative ........... bravo !!
The best free airshow in the world!
I love the shot of the F-15 which shows the artwork on the air brake ! I've never seen that before - Cool !! thank you
Yes me too! unfortunately I was in the wrong location as most has nose art after their deployment, and there's some really cool artwork on them
I think it may have been an Air National Guard jet. NY?
@@kevinx9225 One of the jets at RAF Lakenheath 48th fighter wing has the air brake painted with statue of liberty with US and UK flags.
😅 that pilot must be tired after this tour!! I was in my chair!!! Thank you👏👏👏

77K+ views so far - you are able to put smiles on quite a few faces Elwyn! Thanks a bunch 😊
My pleasure 😊👌
Last Monday I rode threw the Mach Loop on my Harley on the way to Holyhead.... Managed to capture a pair of Typhoons flying through. Was awesome.....
Cool 👌 riding a Harley is the way to do it 😀
A group of Harleys came past our cottage last week, bet it was you 😅
They all sound great, but I love the typhoons howl.
Always lovely to hear and see the Typhoons. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! 👌

They are taken off a nikon z8 300 prime lense 👌
The herc seems to lumber through compared to the Atlas.
Hey, no ageism. 🤨

Loved seeing the guys sat so casually at the back. Great !
The best! 🤟
Stunning photography, well done, and to answer the question, it’s yes, looks fun
Thank Sarah 👌
They got a lap strap but it don’t look overly tight 😂. Nice shots 🤙
I think the lapstrap were for the crew on the first lap, who looked much younger than these seasoned crew here
@@ElwynRInteresting markings on that plane too, very subtle

The heavens opened 10mins after the MC130 went through so perfectly timed 👌
Brilliant, many thanks. I miss Ramp Riding.

Me too David . Used to fly with feet dangling out of an ASR chopper from Thorney Island around the yacht masts .
Not unlike Starwars Canyon in Death Valley, California, only greener. A stunning show of military aircraft.

Great seeing the guys just hanging out on the back of the C130 while going through the loop
A treat, pleasure for the eyes of fans of aviation and Top ❤️ Gun.
Thank you, Elwyn. My wife and I are determined to get to the loop this year. What a gorgeous experience.

The ride on the back of the 130's ramp must have been fun!!!
Or vomit inducing.
I think it be doing the later 🤢
You can also use a toilet on a herc. Can't do that in an F35 😄
