  • Sharing some personal thoughts on my new Aceoffix Front Carrier Block. Believe it will be suitable for the Pikes & Brompton as well. Hope it helps!

    I bought a secondhand Brompton with the Aceoffix FCB but I put the stock FCB back a few weeks ago because it is more compatible with Brompton bags. The stock doesn't look as cool as the Ace but it is better in quality, in my opinion. 😊

    good video. Would be great if you could demo the fitting of bags on both blocks as the 'click' or fitting could be different for both

      @@fredphua is the stock block suppose to allow slight vertical movements of the clipped bag? Cus mine is slightly loose vertically

    Did you find a solution for the higher handlebar and seat on your 3Sixty?

      Hey, I already have the seat post but my order for the handlebars got cancelled due to shipment issues. Have reordered them and hope I receive them soon. Hopefully they'll be able to help get me into a position that I'll be happy with. :)

    Do you know if the carrying capacity increases? And if yes, what’s the new capacity? To me, it seems that the alloy block could withstand at least double the weight than the plastic one, but I don’t know if the plastic one has the same 10Kg limit as the one on Bromptons

    • @fredphua
      @fredphua  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey thanks for dropping by. I do not know what the new weight limit is, but it is an interesting question. I also do not know if anyone actually tested any blocks till the point of failure to ascertain the limits. That said, I share your suspicions that this should be able to take more weight cause of the structure. Haha in any case, i personally won't be looking to load it up till 10kg so it should be good for my usage. Let me know if you find some data on this, I'd be interested to know! 😉👍

      There is a reason the original carrier block is plastic. You'd rather have the block break than the frame. If you have a really strong block and overload it, you risk snapping your handlebars

    • @neoVIVE
      @neoVIVE 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThomasBomb45 That actually made a lot of sense now that I think about it. Thanks!

      @ragingroosevelt ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had thought that the weight limit on the carrier block was due to the screw pullout force, not due to the strength of the block itself. If that is true, then any block (OEM or aftermarket) wouldn't increase weight capacity.

    Hi there, did you test it with original Brompton bags ? Mine is too tight and very hard to slide in and out

    Any idea on how to mount an Ortlieb Ultimate handlebar bag to the Brompton carrier block?

    • @EdTalksPH
      @EdTalksPH 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. You need an adapter that will be attached to the bag to make it like a mini-O bag. Some 3D printed ones are available in SG.

    Read some reviews that mentioned that the bag brackets that fitted on the standard block had issues fitting the Aceoffix front carrier block. Did you encounter this?

    • @fredphua

      Nope, works fine for me on all 3 bags that I have. 👍

      It didn't work for me. So I had to buy an original block after I wasted 40 bucks on the Aceoffix.

    Which bags fit on these mounts and how do I find them?? Also do they make a mount to fit on this bracket that is just the mount (NO BAG)?

    • @fredphua
      @fredphua  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there, I didn't have to buy any bags with a special adapter. Just normal ones and they fit fine. Some comments that I have seen mentioned that the fitment to the adapters would be a bit loose, but works fine for me. Hope this helps! 😊👍

    This block is highly incompatible with restrap bags as it is with Brompton official bags. Mine don't even slide in and being one of the best for bikepacking gear brands out there I was forced to reverse back to the original mount. Conditioning your bag choice to the front carrier is nuts. They should have designed these better, otherwise functionality is lost.

    Can these block be used on fnhon gust?

    • @fredphua
      @fredphua  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, sorry I'm not familiar with the mounting holes on the Fnhon Gust. But I'm guessing there'd be versions that are compatible to the Fnhon? All it requires is the mounting holes at the back to line up.
