you are right. the fixture seems permanent. it can no longer be loosened anymore. it has to be destroyed if they decided to use the outlet. i do not know what comes to the mind of the plumber. he knows how to install, but doesn't care about the purpose of the fixture.
Is more important to not get a leak. To re use the fitting in the future is ridiculous.

Almost wrong, don't keep air on the same pipe, should keep it on the top of the tank, because by your idea it will make bubbles in the water, and the water never come strong into the pipes of the house, and you make a lot of joints losing money for nothing 😂
