- A robin built a nest under my deck and hatched three baby robins. On the first day, a snake attached the nest but the mother robin thwarted it. However the snake returned that night and snatched one of the baby robins from directly underneath the mother. Two weeks later, when the two remaining baby robins were about to fledge the nest, a crow attacked the nest and snatched a second baby robin. This video is intended to provide a front seat to Mother Nature in all her beauty and brutality.
0:40 Mother thwarts snake attack
1:10 Snake attacks nest and takes baby robin
6:34 Crow attacks nest and takes baby robin
Filmed using two GardePro E6 Trail Cameras.
This is the third year in a row that the robin has built a nest there (two broods per year). Video from previous years are also on this channel.
oh my god, the way the snake when stealth mode and snagged a chick from under the mothers body....i've never seen that before
I am amazed the way the mother just stayed in place while that happened. She was so aggressive earlier. Maybe she was trying to protect all three
And he's eating the baby right in front of Momma!
most birds can't see in the dark, the camera is infrared and can see in dark but humans and most birds cannot, exception are owls
おかわりしないで去っていく蛇の優しさ
Oh my goodness the second baby tried so hard to get away! 😭
Did the 3rd one fledge? And have the robins ever had a successful brood from under your deck?
I believe the 3rd robin survived (9:18). And on a positive nite the robins have had success in other years with the nest under the deck.
I was shocked that a crow went under the deck they are normally afraid to enter such an area
The mother barely tried to defend against the snake. If she would’ve actually tried she could’ve probably easily scared it off.
She couldn’t see the snake since it’s dark. She could certainly feel it under her, but she was snapping at it blindly.
No, survival is key. There is always the possibility to live and make another brood later.
You saw that she did in the day,In the night they are basically blind and very slow to react
Observing several of these videos, one thing is certain: robins are pretty stupid birds. One reason they have to lay so many eggs so often.
That was the male not the female when it say returns to look for survivors
親の目の前で子供喰われてて草
Weird reaction. Sociopathic.
Hahaahaha
My question is why, why, WHY? This is so sad.
Because the crow and snake were hungry and saw a meal. No different than the innocent worms and insects that get fed to the robins.
More like wah wah wah
