Yay!!! I just finished putting the subtitles on! I finally posted my first vlog! I'd like everyone's thoughts and advice for the next one. Love you all
You’re definitely NOT “just a housewife”. You’ve introduced and lectured us about Japanese culture and food, showed us (and me personally) how to treat everyone with kindness and how to communicate with your family, and I’m thankful to have the opportunity to learn about it. Besides, I think lots of people underestimate the intensity of being a housewife and to take good care (physically and mentally) of your family. I would absolutely not be capable to do chores while holding a baby in my arms. This is some next level skills! Although I don’t really know how important it is to stay in character for the channel, but if you feel like showing us more about your daily life without the kimono, I personally wouldn’t have objections against it :)
turning just a housewife into something derogatory and accepting toxic masculinity's narrative is what's wrong, stop feeding into that shit. for everyone's sake.
My Japanese sensei told us that the term "housewife" or "shufu" is very fluid in Japan. In doesn't necessarily mean that she's a total housewife. Technically in Japan, women who have jobs and have a family are still being called housewives. It's just part of the culture. Kimono Mom is definitely a working housewife because of her job making TH-cam videos, but she will still be referred to as a housewife.

Moe you are more than “just” a housewife. You are a cultural ambassador for your country, and an amazing parent. Also there is nothing wrong with being a housewife, it is hard work. 13:59 I don't think Moe said she is just a housewife is a put down on herself. In the context, she was discussing if she should continue to dress in nice Kimono outfit or everyday modern clothing. Moto and Moe both agreed a lot. That is Moe is not a celebrity and certainly her videos are not about her being a celebrity, so should she continue to dress in Kimono? Afterall, Moe's main videos are about teaching cooking, taking care of Sutan (being a housewife). Now, if Moe videos are about teaching Kimono, Japanese table manner, and tea ceremony, then it would make sense she dresses in Kimono. That is my understanding when she said: I am just a housewife as in I am sharing the life of a housewife, I am not sharing knowledge in tea ceremony or table manner.
You're not "just a housewife". You're an incredibly good mother to Sutan and you treating her with so much love and care is a job so many parents choose to overlook. I hope Sutan continues growing up to be a happy little girl. This is your channel and I think you should do whatever makes you happy!

Being selfless and working for the sake of others is very wonderful and isnt something to be ashamed of or think isnt important just because it has no salary.
Fact. Being a housewife is difficult. Everyone I talk to says their job is much easier than taking care of a baby/toddler yet we look down on 'housewives'.
@@sidneyboo9704 it isn't about being difficult or easy, it's people associating importance with salary. Some jobs are harder being a housewife, but that doesn't make being a housewife any less important.

@@TheMelopeus that's true, she and dad worked a full-time job so it was just me and brother. He was super calm and I just dismantled everything that I saw😅😅😅
I know most of the attention is on Moe and Sutan, and rightfully so. Moe is far more than "just" a housewife. But I also want to give a small shout out to Moto as well. We don't see him as much, but he seems like a really cool guy and a good father/husband. It's adorable the way Sutan shouts "papa" and runs to greet him when he gets home.
That's right! Totally agree! He is also working hard all day to support them financially. And the fact that Sutan sits down by the door to wait for him, and then her excited face when he finally comes home, tells us what a great dad he is :')
Being a housewife: Not only it is a job but in reality it is one of the most difficult and important jobs in the world. You are doing great Moe your kid is amazing
My daughter is 20 months and she doesn't understand commands unless I point and gesture multiple times. I don't mean to compare and worry but i'm a first time mom and I wonder if I should be concerned. Also, I appreciate your videos, this motivates me to be less lazy and stop being on my phone so much. I need to be more involved and present. Thank you for sharing your life. You and your daughter are so cute!! :)
I don't have any babies and may lack in experiences, but i think 20 y.o is still pretty young. Does she seem to understand words? Does she show any improvement in other aspect? When i was baby, i can walk earlier than other babies, but i didn't talk clearly until quite late, almost 3 years old, or so my mother said. My aunts and uncles would ask about me everytime they visit my house, and I was almost being sent to child development center 😂
Do you communicate a lot with your baby ? Being immersed in the language and talked to with a large variety of words really make the kids learn faster. But to each kid its own pace. So don't sweat it too much for the moment but comment a lot on what you do and what your daughter is doing. She will try to immitate you and associate words with actions quicker :)
You are such an inspiration! When I become a parent in the future, I want to model my parenting style after yours! I love the connection you have with Sutan. You are teaching her very well mama! I am also invested in the rich culture of Japan. I have cooked a few items that you have made and they were DELICIOUS!
Kimonos are great and we enjoy that content, but, I'm sure I'm speaking for everyone, we're all here for you and the family, with or without a kimono. As others have said, I am somewhat curious about your everyday style.
I love how Moe always let Sutan do a lot of things herself and never hesitate to compliment Sutan a lot afterwards ❤️ even when Sutan was messing around cutely, Moe wouldn't stop her immediately from doing it but verbally tells her nicely. You guys are the best!!! 😍
The fact that you asked your daughter consent to change her diaper I'm actually quite pleasantly surprised it should be a thing to consider and do as soon as the child isn't a newborn anymore 💯✨
@@esthera1020 Wouldn't recommend this with developmentally challenged children, but toddlers generally understand that they don't want to sit in a mess
I wanted to add, I personally never want to have kids for my own reasons but watching you parent Su-chan in such a healthy and loving way makes me so so happy as a woman❤️ These days it’s hard to see good parenting because it’s a lot of hard work... but you’re an amazing person/mother for teaching her with such patience and kindness, cheers to you Moe!🌸
The "kimono Mom" content is amazing.. it feels like a fantasy...a world forgotten.. I love those vids.. but I also know that it is your personality, compassion and patience that really makes it great.. you do what your heart leads you to do . An p.s. I'm learning some words by watching you teach sutan words so.... Kanpai!!!
No one can ever tell me that being a stay-at-home mom is not a full time job. A child needs his mother's care and attention DAILY for proper growth and development. Sutan is a prime example of it. You're amazing kimono mom 👘💕
That part where Sutan-chan ran to Moto's arms when he arrived home made me so happy. Also Moe-san, you aren't just a housewife, you are legit a great youtuber !
Your channel gives me life! I am 24 year old, mom of a 16 months boy! I have depression, i am still studying ... My husband is abroad... I have not seen him for like 2 years due to this pandemic... He has not seen our son since he was one month old! ... You can get how i feel right now! Thank god I am staying with my mom she is a big supporter for me! I have to thank you for your contents and your videos! You are natural... and that is giving me life!🧡
Since discovering your channel I am taking the time to catch up on some older videos of you and Sutan, which I watch in the evening after a stressful day at work. Watching the calmness you interact with your daughter, seeing her know more than some older children, seeing your and Sutan’s smiles feels like a soothing balm on my soul: wishing you all the best!
She's amazing for handling the house, her baby & still keeps herself presentable and gorgeous in a kimono AND running a TH-cam channel, editing and vlogging / videoing everything. Being a housewife is one of the most underrated and unpaid occupations ever. A lot of people don't see the self sacrifice that comes with it. So proud of you and all those who choose to do so! Girl, I get tired in my shorts and shirt after cleaning my room. 🤣
You’re more than “just a housewife” Moe-san! Many of us come home to an empty house with no one to greet us “welcome home” or eat dinner with. You provide a happy, loving home to Sutan and Moto-san. I wouldn’t trade that for any job. Have more confidence in what you do. ❤️
I''d love to see more day to day content!! Kimono or not! do whatever's easier for you and sutan! Kimono or not you make wonderful content, even if you choose to wear some cozy clothes I think we'll all enjoy it!
Agree... Kimono is beautiful but must be hard to wear and keep clean with all of Moe's work and childcare... Pls be comfortable Moe and wear whatever clothes you like! Maybe you can do 50-50 like Moto suggested... Kimono for cooking shows and comfy casual clothes for everything else 😊
Im pretty sure that Kimono is part of her normal day. I think she will often change out of it when she gets cleaned up for the evening. This isn't the only day in the life she's done before. There is one from PaolofromTokyo. It shows a lot of a normal day as well and gives clues to more habits.
@@WaltRBuck true I rmbr she wore kimono in the Paolo video, but even Moe herself is saying at the end of this video that she is really thinking of skipping kimono sometimes and showing her real life... She discusses it with her husband, put the English subtitles on and you'll see 😊
It was so interesting seeing Sutan in this day in the life 7 months after the first one on Paolo From Tokyo's channel. Sutan's grown so much and she knows so many words. It was also interesting to see how well she was able to follow your instructions, I don't know of very many baby who would've been able to do the same at that age.
It's curious how a simple thing changes between places: for us, in Italy, chrysanthemums are the flowers of death, because they blossom in November and it's the most common flower you see in cementaries. But for you, in Japan, they bring luck or something similar. It's really curious and fascinating. ☺
Some of my predominant childhood memories is my mum singing is Swiss German while sifting flour. I bet Sutan is going to have memories like this. I bet when Sutan is old enough she won't even question helping mum with bags (something I only see a small minority of kids doing when they come into my work), or run out the door the moment their parents are at the register. Kids like Sutan are the reason people want to have kids. You are doing a wonderful job at turning her into a really remarkable human being like her mum!
After being a mum i learnt how incredibly difficult it is to just take care of a child 24/7, much less do that and run a household. So much admiration for you!
Ahaha 😂 Moto san’s slightly panicked expression when you asked him, “do you know what day today is?” Love your channel so much! Thank you for the hard work you do to bring us these snapshots of your life 💛
Small fun fact about me, I am from the Netherlands so you have a fan from the other side of the world. (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ Actually why not make this thread so Kimono mom knows where her fans come from. It's so fun to see your everyday life as a mom but please keep in mind to have more time for yourself, Sutan and Moto! Ofcourse every fan of yours would love to see more of your daily life but family comes before our pleasure. Keep making awesome video's!!!!
Omgggg I am in love with this family. Sutan waiting by the door for her papa sooo sweet, and baby Sutan eating real food for first time... Too much! 😭😍
It's something curious and beautiful at the same time seeing that, despite the fact that we're thousands of km away, all we, mamas, have similar routines and interactions with our babies. I was watching you and it was like watching a regular day with my babygirl. And it also comforts me too, knowing that I must be doing something good if other mamas are doing the same with their babies, encouraging them to help at home and tidy up their toys, reading with them, food prep time together, papa helping around when he gets home from work... It's really comforting.
My favorite part is when Sutan volunteered herself to get her diaper changed :)) and also her stare in 12:15 :)) she's so cute! I love this vlog because it lifts my spirit as a housewife too
I pressed 'like' already after 1 minute because everything already looks so good. Great job with the filming, editing and captioning :) You guys are great and Sutan is cutest baby! Ok. Back to watching now.
Being a housewife/homemaker is one of the hardest jobs there is. Never downplay your role in running a home. Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, wiping, dusting, cooking, etc... none of those are picnics in the park!
It is very interesting to see how your holidays are celebrated. I love the idea of keeping the seasons and marking the turning of the year. I do so in a Scots/Irish or Celtic way. The interaction in your happy family is a joy to watch... Bright Blessings to you 🌾
It's really great that you're teaching her to help out at such a young age. Teaching kids to help out early is so important and such a good skill for them to learn. This way, when they're older, helping out won't seem like such a big deal.
もえさん: I really enjoy watching your cooking recipes, you and Sutan make the best team ever! ❤ I was really touched by your words at the end of the video, personally I wouldn't mind seeing more of your daily life, I found it interesting. Dear Kimono Mom, I would love to see more vlogs about your regular life with Sutan! I also really love how wholesome your videos are. What a beautiful family!
It's funny how that moment when Papa (Dad) comes home, lasts for such a short time but is so looked forward to and filled with utter joy and excitement. Soon it won't be exciting at all. That is why this period of time is so special. I hope someday Sutan's daughter gets to see these videos.
You have no idea how much this warmed my heart just watching this. I smiled n laughed with a lump in my throat throughout the video. It’s so honest and real. I wished I had gotten my children involved more in housework when they were Sutan’s age. Thank you Moe-san. You’re such an inspiration ! ❤️❤️

Moe-san, you are more than "just a housewife". You remind me of my friend's mom when I was in Japan for my internship programme. Her mom is so pure, loving and heart-warming. Even I am different in race, religion and language from them. I love the hospitality Japanese people show to everyone, even for their family. Thank you for being you, Moe-san. Love from Indonesia 🇮🇩❤️
I am watching this, almost a year later, and I am glad that you decided to start filming your everyday life, and I agree with Moto about the kimono and I’m glad you chose to stay wearing it for your videos. And being a housewife is important. Thank you for sharing your family with us.
That was wonderful, sweet, and informative! My husband and I are hoping to get try to pregnant soon (delayed because of the pandemic), so I enjoy watching your videos with Sutan. I hope my child will be healthy and smart like Sutan! As to whether to wear kimono in future vlogs, I think it's ok to wear normal clothing and to show that parenting is not always easy and fun. I think many of us like watching you as you are; you don't have to present yourself like a perfect character. You are human and we relate to you in that way. The only thing to be careful of is protecting what you don't want to show, as the internet is not always kind. Stay your sweet self!

I love to see you being a mom and cooking for your family simultaneously. Your cooking is so special. It is not 'just' being a housewife. You are so much more!
You, your husband and Sutan are such a lovely family and beautiful people! I admire how graceful and kind you are. Raising a child must be challenging but you make it look easy. You’re a great inspiration for all parents out there! What I love most about you is that you’re proud of being Japanese and that you cherish your culture - because it is unique and beautiful just like you! I’ve watched other Japanese vlogs but it makes me feel a bit sad to see all these women only using Westen brands, from kitchen knives to cosmetics and bag or clothes. Japanese culture has so much to offer. Foreigners (including me) pay horrendous sums for this kind of craftsmanship because it is authentic, real, made with care by hand. I find it sad that many young Japanese people can’t see the value of Japanese things anymore. I’m glad that you’re different! Reiwa to me means going back to the Japanese ways of kindness, care and dedication. Looking into the future and being open to new opportunities and encounters but cherishing the traditional ways also. I believe you are the embodiment of the new age. Lots of love!!!

@@redcastlefan it's not like that. Every woman with a job is also a 'housewife' when she comes back home.... So imagine how difficult can be handling these two things togheter.
@@mari-gu9li Yeah. I still don't know how, when I was a child, my mother worked from 8am to 5pm then picked me up from school, cooked dinner, cleaned the house, did laundry, bathed and fed me then helped me with my homework nearly everyday. Now that I am a grown woman, I can't imagine how I can be like my mother when I get married and have a child myself.
@@miyako1909 you'll be like your mother, don't worry. Women... We are so so great, we can do everything 😉
I love how I’ve never seen Sutan in front of the telly or staring at a gadget screen. Instead Moe let’s her in on her daily activities or a good book ❤️❤️❤️
Sutan is adorable. Such a cute helper for her mommy.
I was never as obedient as Sutan, my mom would probably describe me as the problem child but watching this really brings back memories.
Yes but your mother probably didn't spend as much time with you as Moe does with Sutan
@@TheMelopeus that's true, she and dad worked a full-time job so it was just me and brother. He was super calm and I just dismantled everything that I saw😅😅😅
I was also a little terror
I know most of the attention is on Moe and Sutan, and rightfully so. Moe is far more than "just" a housewife.
But I also want to give a small shout out to Moto as well. We don't see him as much, but he seems like a really cool guy and a good father/husband. It's adorable the way Sutan shouts "papa" and runs to greet him when he gets home.
That's right! Totally agree! He is also working hard all day to support them financially. And the fact that Sutan sits down by the door to wait for him, and then her excited face when he finally comes home, tells us what a great dad he is :')
I agree, I also want to send a shout out to moto san as well 🤍🤍🤍
Being a housewife: Not only it is a job but in reality it is one of the most difficult and important jobs in the world.
@@The1PiloOface ah yes you're right. thank you :)

You are such an inspiration! When I become a parent in the future, I want to model my parenting style after yours! I love the connection you have with Sutan. You are teaching her very well mama! I am also invested in the rich culture of Japan. I have cooked a few items that you have made and they were DELICIOUS!
SUTAN IS A BLESSING IM SO HAPPY EVERYTIME SHE IS IN THE VIDEO
Kimonos are great and we enjoy that content, but, I'm sure I'm speaking for everyone, we're all here for you and the family, with or without a kimono. As others have said, I am somewhat curious about your everyday style.
I love how Moe always let Sutan do a lot of things herself and never hesitate to compliment Sutan a lot afterwards ❤️ even when Sutan was messing around cutely, Moe wouldn't stop her immediately from doing it but verbally tells her nicely. You guys are the best!!! 😍
you're a perfect mother and wife, and being a housewife doesn't change that, so I'm glad you're here.🇹🇷❤️❤️❤️❤️🇯🇵
The fact that you asked your daughter consent to change her diaper I'm actually quite pleasantly surprised it should be a thing to consider and do as soon as the child isn't a newborn anymore 💯✨
It’s a nice way to teach consent but what do you do if a child says no and actually needs changing?
@@esthera1020 I guess that if the rest of the education followed she would agree 😅 hopefuly...👀
@@esthera1020 Wouldn't recommend this with developmentally challenged children, but toddlers generally understand that they don't want to sit in a mess
disciplined people. thats how Japanese is.
Cute and adorable baby
I wanted to add, I personally never want to have kids for my own reasons but watching you parent Su-chan in such a healthy and loving way makes me so so happy as a woman❤️ These days it’s hard to see good parenting because it’s a lot of hard work... but you’re an amazing person/mother for teaching her with such patience and kindness, cheers to you Moe!🌸
Sutan is probably the world's most cutest ,prettiest and smartest child...Who else think's the same?
I agree with you. :)
She’s already a born performer...she’ll excel at whatever becomes her ultimate passion!
My nephew and niece are pretty smart and cute as well but I'd give Sutan the title of "prettiest and smartest girl on the Asian continent" xD
I mean I've seen several adorable smart children,I have one,so I'm going to have to disagree, tho she is smart and adorable
@@shelbycurtis8885Yes...that's your opinion😄...And I respect it
Moe-san is saving the rest of the year with Quality wholesome content and i'm here for it!
Yeah, that's basically how I got into watching these videos. It's just a nice sense of wholesomeness amidst the absolute disaster that is 2020.
I watching this video again in June 2022. Sutan was a baby then. Ganbatte Kimono Mum & Sutan. Thank you for the joy you bring to the viewers.
Kanpai!!!
I love how she brings her own diaper when she’s ready for a change!! Soooo smart!
Moe and Sutan give us the 4 C's... cuisine, cooking, culture and cuteness!!!
You’re more than “just a housewife” Moe-san! Many of us come home to an empty house with no one to greet us “welcome home” or eat dinner with. You provide a happy, loving home to Sutan and Moto-san. I wouldn’t trade that for any job. Have more confidence in what you do. ❤️
Moments like this are everything.
She is the most wonderful wife I have ever seen. Her husband is a lucky guy !
I''d love to see more day to day content!! Kimono or not! do whatever's easier for you and sutan! Kimono or not you make wonderful content, even if you choose to wear some cozy clothes I think we'll all enjoy it!
yes please!!!!!!! please show us more day to day content, we would like to see more than just your kimono mom character.
i hope you see this moe!
She discusses it with her husband, put the English subtitles on and you'll see 😊
@@Violet.18 cool. Ill go back and listen. I can generally understand what's being said. I just don't speak it well.
She's getting so big and smart!!! Great job Mom and Dad are doing in the most important job of all!
It's curious how a simple thing changes between places: for us, in Italy, chrysanthemums are the flowers of death, because they blossom in November and it's the most common flower you see in cementaries. But for you, in Japan, they bring luck or something similar. It's really curious and fascinating. ☺
wow, in Spain crysanthemus means "perfection", "happiness" and "eternity" :o
In China we bring chrysanthemums when visiting graveyards on our Memorial Day.
Oh my she is so adorable, she is learning soo much by being a helper.. it’s so nice to see Papa Moto-san in some videos and help film!
Lol Sutan face when her parents say: “itadakimasu” 🤣🤣🤣

After being a mum i learnt how incredibly difficult it is to just take care of a child 24/7, much less do that and run a household. So much admiration for you!
Ahaha 😂 Moto san’s slightly panicked expression when you asked him, “do you know what day today is?”

Omgggg I am in love with this family. Sutan waiting by the door for her papa sooo sweet, and baby Sutan eating real food for first time... Too much! 😭😍
Perfect wife and mother, and you raise so good and obedient and discipline.
12:14 Sutan's look: You two are embarrassing me.
The side eye hahaha
Alderina Gracia XDDDDD
My favorite part is when Sutan volunteered herself to get her diaper changed :)) and also her stare in 12:15 :)) she's so cute!
I love this vlog because it lifts my spirit as a housewife too
I pressed 'like' already after 1 minute because everything already looks so good. Great job with the filming, editing and captioning :) You guys are great and Sutan is cutest baby! Ok. Back to watching now.
I just love the conversations you guys were having at the end. So natural. Sutan is being well trained putting things away.
Bright Blessings to you 🌾
Like if u agree Sutan will become a soft-spoken, beautiful person just like her mother🥰
I’m not here for kimono or the cooking I’m here for sweet moe, she is such an inspiration 🥺❤️✨
It's really great that you're teaching her to help out at such a young age. Teaching kids to help out early is so important and such a good skill for them to learn. This way, when they're older, helping out won't seem like such a big deal.
i love the way you include sutan in your daily activities! it's incredible to see her independence at such a young age
That baby has the most beautiful smile. That means she's very loved. Absolutely adorable family.

I was really touched by your words at the end of the video, personally I wouldn't mind seeing more of your daily life, I found it interesting. I feel so proud of hard working moms like you Moe-san. You don't have to be perfect for us! We appreciate you the way you are.
I wish all the best to your beautiful family!
Bye bye! 👋😊
The positive vibes are coming from this beautiful and precious family😍😍😍😍
You're not just a housewife... that's a very hard and important job. I, as a housewife and worker I can say that working at home is way harder than working outside. Plus you are raising your daughter, be proud of yourself as a woman as a person and as a hard worker 👏👏👏❤❤
I just saw one video of urs today and got addicted.. U reminded me the days with my toddler. I used to work like u.. Well my daughter is 5 year old now. I have a great respect for a "Housewife".. So please dont say 'just a housewife'. It is the hardest job ever. U both mother and daughter are so cute. U r a great mother. Ur daughter is very lucky. May God bless u and ur family.
Dont be "I am just housewife" Moe, you gave me an inspiration and idea. I would like to add, dont underestimate yourself

My husband and I were too! Lol but then we thought no time is perfect and now we’re expecting and everything is still going well. Good luck 💗
