In Flames and choruses, name a more iconic duo! I really love this band, probably my favorite because of Anders vocals and their guitar melodies. They changed a lot through the years, from being a Melodeath metal band to playing more melodic alternative metal. Each albums is VERY unique in its sound. This album feels like a sum up to all of their eras! Great reaction video, love seeing someone reaction for the first time to In Flames ^^

I don't think this is a common opinion among In Flames fans, but Sounds of a Playground Fading is one of my favorite albums ever.

Sounds of a playground, then back to reroute to remain and soundtrack to your escape. Throw come clarity in there somewhere too.

I loved this album to pieces, my favourites are Meet Your Maker, Foregone pt.2 and End The Transmission! Highly agree on End The Transmission being a super cool song to be played live, fingers crossed they add it to the setlist of their next tour 🤞

In Flames have been around for a long time now. They are actually among the inventors of melodic death metal and basically idols for many modern metal and metalcore bands like Trivium, Killswitch Engage and many more. They were among the first bands that mixed beautiful guitar harmonies with the harsh sound of death metal. I would really recommend you to check out their albums, especially until "A sense of purpose". After that, their sound changed a lot with their recent albums, but until that point their sound is actually the origin of a lot of what makes modern metal.

Lead singer Anders Friden is almost 50 and has been at this for over 30 years. His growls have changed a lot over the years and it's understandable. If you listen to any of their 90s albums, you'd see a big difference.

Except the first one. He is not the singer on Lunar Strain.

He has changed his style from a pure growl to a high pitch scream and done some cleans since 2005 or so. 2009 and onwards melodic scream is probably what caused issues in his voice for a long time and he told a journalist he took vocal lessons for the 2014 album, and has since used a vocal fry technique heavily. This is what makes his modern sound so badass but it isnt very loud. It is however very healthy when done correctly. Anders has since mastered the low growls too. I think he is at his best currently, of course there's gonna be wear and tear but he makes up for it nicely

Great album! I love all their albums, each of them is unique. You must to check at least one 1999-2011, especially Clayman, Come Clarity and Sense of Purpose.

DUDE they are a huge inspiration on modern metalcore and melodic death metal, they basically were founders of the genre. you absolutely MUST hear these albums: The Jester race, Whoracle, Colony, and Clayman.

    Great reaction!
What made me laugh was the comparison of “newer” bands to In Flames p. As an old buck, they among other bands evolution the Gutenberg death metal sound to what we know as metalcore. Without in flames many bands wouldn’t exist
Either way, I strongly recommend the Colony album

yes. In Flames and other OG Gothenburg bands (Dark Tranquillity, At the Gates, Arch Enemy, etc) are the major influence of all American new metal after the year 2000, the whole metalcore genre for example. In Flames' golden era was from 1994 to 2003ish

Interesting that your first aproach to In Flames is this album, I wonder what that was like, either way Amazing reaction! This Is my favorite band ever, I love every album, each one is really unique and this band has something to everyone, if you want more of their "Alternative" era I recomend listening to A Sense Of Purpose or Sounds of a Playground Fading, both my favorite albums of them, but if you want to listen more of their og sound, listen to Clayman or Colony, Clayman arguably being their best album ever. Hope to see more reaction bro! nice video

Honestly this album kills, the drummer is a god, the vocals, guitare solos..., the bass tone😱
    the whole album is amazing.
Your reaction is also perfect, many thanks from France.

huge choruses where the things that attracted me the first time i listened to them back in the days, those huge choruses in Dark Signs and Reroute to Remain, widening in the stereo image, gave me chills and finally i've kinda found them in this album too. The thing that i don't like of "new era inflames" is the effect chain on Ander's clean vocals, don't like them much
