    There is no bad song in the four new ones already published. This is a return to Reroute To Remain.

      My thoughts exactly. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. It is refreshing to see them go back to their roots :D

      As a fan who bought The Jester Race in its month of release I'd say its maybe even before Reroute. This song has alot of the Folky Whoracle sound. Especially the solos and guitar harmonies. Drums are played In very similar fashion.

    Yeah absolutely they're definitely modern metal band but I love the throwback aspects to their what I would consider glory days. Off the beaten path is a very diplomatic way to put it lol Great reaction guys as always

    Am I crazy or is It literally a very close play on Gyroscope. If you played Anders Gyroscope vocals over the heavier riff it would fit right in

      Yeah those folky vibes felt like that era to me too.

    Man, I liked Soundtrack To Your Escape. I've liked all their albums up to Come Clarify. After that I think I kinda got lost and uninterested again. But this! I'm roped in again

    @5:14 Interesting that STYE seems to not get a whole lot of love from OG In Flames fans. It was the 2nd IF album I purchased back in the day. Got into them thanks to this weird "Freddy VS Jason" soundtrack that had Trigger on it. That song blew my mind. Completely. At that point I had never heard anything like it, still my favorite IF song to this day. So I instantly bought Reroute. Fell in love with it right away and looked for more IF CD's at Best Buy. The only thing they had in stock at the time was STYE, so I bought it. Honestly, I personally love just as much as anything they've done.
    With all that said, I too stopped listening to these guys a while ago...pretty much after A Sense of Purpose...because they really seemed to have lost their identify for a while. I guess that makes sense since most of the core members all left (The Halo Effect, FTW!). Now they've got another monster behind the kit in Tanner Wayne. Oh, and having Chris fxcking Broderick onboard certainly doesn't hurt. This band feels rejuvenated, and I love it. Really digging all the singles so far. Fingers crossed for the new record.

    I really enjoyed The Halo Effect album earlier this year, so I need to give the new In Flames a listen. I love the in depth analysis, however, it kinda makes me feel more of a shallow listener, you all pickup on some fine details!

    This sounds like an amalgamation of the Jester Race -> Clayman era, except the clean vocals are much more prevalent. Thankfully, Anders sounds great compared to his younger days. It's funny, back in the day all I wanted was a Gothenburgian band with clean vocals, and now I'm like "give me all the harshes, you fucks." lol

    • @forgemastermetal
      @forgemastermetal  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dude his harshes sound so mean in these newer songs

    every time In Flames releases a single people hear a harmony or a solo and think it's a "return to form." Then the full album comes out, and it's crappy metalcore just like every other modern In Flames album. Come on guys. Stop falling for it.

    Reroute their final good album. Not expecting much.

    STYO wasn't a bad album, it was just an album of its time. Metal blew up again in the early 2000's and this ablum reflected that time period. Come Clarity was much better sure, but Soundtrack still had some epic tracks on it.
    For me it all went downhil from around A Sense Of Purpose album. It was just an ok album for me with a couple of good tracks and the rest pretty forgettable. Then Siren Charms, Battles, and Sounds of a Playgound were the dark times for In Flames. Each album had like 1 maybe 2 tracks that were ok the rest were just not good and steered waaaaay too much away from classic In Flames.
    Hopefully this new album is a step back in time, whilst still feeling new and fresh. The tracks so far are all bangers!

      Totally agree with a lot of your points! Can’t wait for this new record, love all the new singles

      For me, it's after The Sound of a Playground Fading. That album had some great riffs, and overall, I really enjoyed it. Siren Charms was the start of the really awful modern In Flames albums.

    • @KompletterGeist
      @KompletterGeist ปีที่แล้ว

      IMO, STYE was utterly forgettable...A sense of Purpose was okay, but i really enjoyed sounds of a playground fading. The title song, enter tragedy, a new dawn were all amazing songs!
      Siren Charms and all following albums were just awful.
      I'm excited for this release though. Seems like they are bringing back some of the folk melodies that made their first 4 albums so epic

    I love them and kinda embrace every albums they put out.After Come Clarity in my opinion.ASOP was ok(Melodic but what really goods was a last 4 track+EP), SOAPF was good(Lack of Killer Riff.but still more enjoyable than the last one)Only 2 albums that really hard to digest for me. First Siren Charms = U2 Metal.but still better than Battles.which was better at first hearing but end up not so good.very bad mixing(But I'm really love Like Sand,Wallflower,Greatest Greed)

    • @forgemastermetal

      All totally valid points. It's cool to hear some fans still embrace the stuff that gets so much resistance.
