I have known such displays before it goes from very elaborate for a couple of years to nothing at all. You can tell how long they are grieving by how fast the displays decrees each year. Though that is not always the case. One guy was knows to set up very elaborate displays for every holiday on the calendar for his late wife for nearly three decades until the day he was forced to sell the house as he was moved to a elderly care facility and soon after joined his wife in forever peaceful sleep.
