Like Father like Son , Sam is a credit to you and I bet he tells some great stories to his school mates about his adventures with Dad in his aeroplane . You’re doing a great job Noel ,you should be proud .
What a great job Sam did of giving you your legal rest period! He’s going to make a really good pilot - loved his observation about sensitivity of controls!
Another great video Noel, precious father, son bonding!! … Sam was definitely the star of the show 👏👏👏 … you need to be a little careful though, I took my son flying as a boy and now, having been completely bitten by the bug,he’s working towards his ATPL, with a little help from ‘ bank of mum and dad’ 😅
Brilliant video! Well done Sam great flying mate. Small suggestion for the next one… I would be super interested in going into a bit more detail about what the instruments do on the aircraft. Thanks both 😊
The lad knows what he sees! Love these vids Noel, been watching since the early days of your passenger vids keep it up :) Tell the lad I suffer the same anxiety thinking of talking to Vatsim!
When I'm hiking in the Peak District National Park I often look up and think, I wonder if that's Noel? as I've seen you overfly the Peaks before. Great to see the last of this series. We need some more flights with Sam and Lima Bravo. Great vlog Noel, thanks for sharing.
So great to see you flying with your son. He looks just like you. Maybe one day he will be making videos of himeself flying on all sorts of airlines or maybe even flying one of them.
Ah, Barton, I knew Barton when it was a little club field called Barton, not this posh Manchester City airport (with matching prices!) - although it WAS the only Manchester airport, at first!
I love seeing you maps of flying in the north of England. I learnt at EGNF and used Coal Aston, to the west of Netherthorpe for many years. Also based in Gamston, this was all back in the 80's and 90's
whats the little box hanging off your headset? i haven't seen this on your previous videos, is this how you record cockpit audio? I'm look at nflightcam cable but if there is a better solution, I'd be interested to hear!
Looks like a Rode Wireless Mic. Clips to a shirt or cable and will pickup his voice. But the audio definitely not coming from it... Sounds like recording from the headset feed.
I have a question: What is the deciding factor for airports in the UK to use QFE or QNH? I have tried to work it out watching clips from the UK but have so far not succeeded. I suspect it has something to do with the level of service?
QNH is used outbound (when you're doing cross country you use QNH). You also use QNH for airspace - for instance the East Midlands CTA iwill be based on the East Midlands QNH. QFE is only used for landing usually, and is simply the QNH minus the pressure difference for the airfield elevation, useful in VFR flights for the circuit to land.
@@FlyWithNoelPhilips Oh, that both makes and sense and does not at the same time. QFE has only been used by military aircraft/OAT here in Sweden, but nowadays all traffic uses QNH as reference below transition altitude. At least when flying in to manned airfields (AFIS/TWR) with its own airspace. It's always interesting to learn about other countries procedures. I guess that comes with being an aeronautical nerd. 😅 (More or less been in the industry since year 2000)
Moving to the states you'll talk completely different aviation language (partially), you'll confuse Sam even more. He won't know what to do if he has a QFE.
My husband just immigrated to US from India and is working in getting his drivers license. I’ve discovered I’m a horrible teacher, if you decide to quit blogging, please become a driving teacher, you’re so patient!!😂♥️
@@FlyWithNoelPhilips - it's the vox switch 'hang' time that needs adjusting, but that may be on an internal potentiometer, not a user-adjustable setting. I try to avoid using vox on ham radio, for that reason.

I wished I had a father like you are! Perfectly opening this world to your son with no pressure. Well done!!!
It's nice to see little Noel. Like father like son. These will be great memories for the two of you. Much love from Washington state.
Sam’s favorite word -> “yep”. 😆

You are one of the coolest dads to have!! Flying is a passion. 😍😍😍

Why do you think we’re moving to the states, will only break the bank half as much there 😂
What a wonderful video. The perfect father and son adventure day. Lovely to watch.
Aahw. Such a sweet da an son vid. Loved it Noel. 💖💞

Hi Noel, Sam is very bright and knows what he doesn't know. He will be an excellent pilot quite soon. All the best from No Loo Review South Australia.
Great video! Making some fantastic memories flying with Sam. Hope to see you at Barton again soon
The kid's called Sam not Adam...
@@simpilotadamt1012 iPhone swipe keyboard for you! ;)
Not going to lie it’s super cool that you let Sam have control.
Great video 😊. Putting the son on the ropes.
Great co piloting Sam 👏 ✈️ he’s such a sweet funny boy and a credit to you .

I think that wrap mate hit Sam hard … fell asleep 😂😂 just what I would do haha! Nice video as usual take care the both of you 😊
Lovely video mate, I wish my dad could have done this kind of thing with me❤
Those power cables are my reference point when taking off on 26L/26R. I aim towards that pylon! 🤣🤣
love this video!!!

Great video Noel as always 👍🏻
It's 2 stages of flap for Barton in the Pa28 that might be why the lines seemed close ? 🤔

Lovely video.
I reckon you should take Josh Cahill up in your plane and let him do a review especially a loo review with a bucket 😂😂 would be hilarious
I bounced on the grass at Barton, decided to go around and had a very close look at those power lines
Great video Noel 👍
Love his inquisitive questions to you Noel

I used to watch the Barton Air Show every year from the other side of the canal, and those power cables ruined many photographs
You need to fly into DSA before it shuts!
These days the common airlines in the area would be the Airbus A319/320/321. The 737 is a good number 2. But I see more A-busses flying around.
Father and son flying high over the UK having a grand time… :)
Been wanting to ask this for ages, Does Lima Bravo have an autopilot or auto-throttle? I'm assuming not.
Great video
Welcome to Texas ✌️
That opening 😂😂😂
I stil have no idea what button he pressed!
Yep 👍

300m = 1000feet so his around 500 m should be around 1800ft
People don't fly from Doncaster because it's in Doncaster...
If the kid sits on the left, he can see the instruments better = better lesson.
Is sam gonna be commercial plane pilit one day?

It's very frustrating! I haven't found a way to fix it on the A20s. I always end up repeating myself.
