I very much recommend that you preserve the briefings, but fold them exclusively back into the main channel. Two shop fronts is often a digital challenge when they’re built around 1 brand.
Switching them to another channel was a way of managing the TH-cam algorithm. These briefings are very different from my other content, and they were confusing the AI - pulling the main channel down. I do mention them on the other channel periodically, and they are in the main channel playlists. You've found them which is good.
Please don’t stop these important briefings- even if it saves one accident or life it’s well worthwhile… Many private pilots need a constant reminder on safety issues and this is where your excellent videos are invaluable. It is really appreciated.
Hi John, please continue these very useful updates. There is an overlap with Flyer but your professional, focussed delivery means we get the important info quickly and clearly.
Keep them coming. Even as a fairly experienced and current pilot, I find the content, and your way of putting it across, to be extremely useful. Thankyou.!
Hi Jon, please don't stop, it's great that you spe d the time to take issues or information and convert it into easily understood well presented easily watched videos
… and further to my rant about the Manchester low level route, please keep the pilot briefings going, I wish we had something like this here in Switzerland also.
I flew into Carlisle two weeks ago for the fly inn. It's such a lovely clean airport with great facilities. Thank you for the updates on these issues. It would be good if you could put a spread or article in the BMM Microlight Magazine too, as I believe many in the Microlight world watch your channel too. Thanks for posting.
I hope these do continue. As a new pilot, with a young child and a busy life. I love sitting down of an evening catching up on these. They cherry pick the most important and relevant information we should all be reading as pilots but with busy lifestyles, seldom do. Maybe it's the lack of attention grabbing click bait that these topics have. I feel like it's probably just subscribers will actually click on and watch. But personally I am super happy that you permit and do these. All the best!
You articulate the main reason why I do these. If I make the titles a little clickbaity, they do get watched, but a little bit of me dies inside when I do. Are you subscribed to this sub-channel? The Flying Reporter Briefing Room?
As someone who has moved away from GA now, and started commercial airline flying, I appreciate these videos as a way for me to stay connected with what is happening with GA in the UK and keep my knowledge fresh for if I ever do venture into light aircraft flying again in the future, and so I do value these videos!
Hi Jon! Please do keep these up, maybe plug this channel in the next few main channel videos to hopefully inspire more people to watch them. These videos are incredibly useful and well presented.
I look forward to the briefing, Jon, and always find it very useful. I'd be disappointed not to see it, but I do understand that it must take a lot of your time and focus.
I've occasionally watched your main channel for a while now and only just seen this side. To me, this is more interesting than your main content so please carry on. My suggestion is to put the content on the main part - Maybe with the title starting with 'Briefing room :' then the subject so viewers will know what kind of content it is. That way you're getting it out there to almost 50k peeps, rather than the lower 1.5k here...
Definition of Curtilage - the land surrounding a building that belongs to the owner of the building and for which he or she has responsibility. I agree very strongly with @Adam Linton that there should be North and South corridors, of dimensions that ensure glide clear is feasible. Hava a great break Jon & I wholeheartedly support this channel and hope you continue with it as the content is very valuable!!
@@pilotbriefingroom Buck House has a perimeter fence so the curtilage would be the land contained by that, I guess (not being in any way shape or form a legal bod)
I have a Grass Airstrip in the SW of England and it operates Strictly PPR. It's not very demanding but is fairly isolated and well hidden to such an extent that many locals dont even know it exists! The idea of an ELT is good. Over the many years of its existence there have been one or two incidents but fortunately there has always been someone at the Strip. If there was an incident where the result was severe then there is every chance no one would know. I do have a good camera but its prime task is security at entrance and hangar. The ELT idea has merit IMHO.
Thanks for the Manchester info John. I’ve had a bust there and paid some private sector entity a bunch of money for some common sense course and a complete rejection of my view that the corridor is nuts. The CAA continue to add workload to VFR pilots, here is the most absurdly dangerous piece of airspace in Europe (despite being a money spinner for god knows who) it’s taken them years to agree with many pilots and now offer this rubbish as a solution. Why don’t they create North and South routes with transit requests? It works well in Bern where there’s a crazy mix of mountains, gliders, IFR, military, SAR and students. CAA can use the profits from their courses to support a dedicated controller managing transits. Mr Angry 😂
I think this is a really good point. Multiple squawks, listening squawks, changes of frequency, constantly having to pass our message for example, increasing workload, radio mandatory zones, more GAR requirements, PPR...all adding to workload for private pilots, to prop up a failing system.
They should also implement a Northbound/southbound corridor with in it. Or guidelines, along the line of if your going north, stay to the west and east for the south
Hi Jon, we need to get you up in a flexwing microlight, proper short and strip field flying. Terry Kent came to visit me at Darley Moor airfield. Its a small world.
While nodding my head and thinking you deserve more views and subscribers to this channel, I realised that I am not even subscribed and the TH-cam algorithm has just suggested every video to me because I watch your main channel. Wonder how many others there are like me. Even if you may not want to specifically ask people, it might be worth a call out on the main channel? I’ve heard you mention this channel on the main one but never realised I was part of the problem :) So as recompense, you get a sub, like and comment!
It's a difficult one. Switching to another channel was a way of managing the TH-cam algorithm. These briefings are very different from my other content, and they were confusing the AI. I do mention them on the other channel periodically, and they are in the main channel playlists. You've found them which is good.
I'm not even a pilot, but i'm still subscribed and enjoy the content. Maybe if it's not working on this channel, you could put them back on your main channel. If they're not working there either, you may as well knock it on the head. There's no point wasting so much time and effort just to please a handful of people.
Hi. It didn't really work on the main channel either, and was having an impact on my other content, which is why I thought I'd try something new here on a sub-channel. It's a little more than a handful of people that watch/listen to it, but it's difficult to justify the time if it's not a viewer winner. A shame, because I know so many people value it.
Keep the videos coming, these are very useful as a student! If you do end up stopping them, a newsletter version would be a great alternative. Would the change in the low level route from D to G mean that aircraft without radio or transponder could use the route, further increasing risk? Or will it be a transponder mandatory zone?
Manchester LLR should really operate in a similar way to maritime traffic separation zones. Anyone joking from - or going to Barton just needs to cross at ninety degrees to get into the appropriate lane.
I leaned to fly out of Chatteris airfield, it’s a very good location for a flying school. Also my current aircraft is based at Chatteris, it still remains unclear what is,going to happen and when. Grave times indeed for airfields. :/
Regularly shared and promoted.. It didn't do terribly well on the main channel, and was having an impact on the main channels ranking... hence why it moved here.
JON, As always your podcast have little gems of information which I decided to check on my SKYDEMON. It appears as usual that the CAA designate these areas not only to confuse pilots but to catch them out. For example in that corridor between Liverpool and Manchester is shown as Class D from the surface to 3500ft. Also is shown a "Low Level Route" from the surface to 1300ft as you correctly said, duly classified as Class D. So what's preventing one flying up to 3500ft rather than skud running below 1300ft. Am I missing something? Please note I am not a UK citizen and I am not resident in the UK but.... I fly a UK registered aircraft. Your comments or your Patrons comments would be helpful to sort out my confusion. ☘️☘️
Is it the best use of taxpayers' money and civil service manhours to handle merely technical airspace infringements? That alone should be the motivator for fixing Manchester.
I very much recommend that you preserve the briefings, but fold them exclusively back into the main channel. Two shop fronts is often a digital challenge when they’re built around 1 brand.

As a student pilot, I find these updates increadibly useful. I really do hope they continue and you achieve the viewership to make it worthwhile.
Thank you.
Please don’t stop these important briefings- even if it saves one accident or life it’s well worthwhile…
Many private pilots need a constant reminder on safety issues and this is where your excellent videos are invaluable.
It is really appreciated.
Thank you Anthony.
Please keep these videos going. I just flew the LLR and can look forward to these proposed changes.
Hi John, please continue these very useful updates. There is an overlap with Flyer but your professional, focussed delivery means we get the important info quickly and clearly.
Thanks Ross.
Please continue the Briefing Room videos. They are very useful.
Thanks Oliver. Doing what I can.
Also commenting for the algorithm 🙏 these videos are super helpful and are a godsend for making me aware of ongoing consultations or updates
Appreciate your help.
Keep them coming. Even as a fairly experienced and current pilot, I find the content, and your way of putting it across, to be extremely useful. Thankyou.!
Keep them going Jon. I didn't realise this channel was separate to your other channel, so my mistake. I have now subscribed.
Hi Jon, please don't stop, it's great that you spe d the time to take issues or information and convert it into easily understood well presented easily watched videos
Thanks Keith.
… and further to my rant about the Manchester low level route, please keep the pilot briefings going, I wish we had something like this here in Switzerland also.
Thanks John, please do keep these going for the GA community.
Thanks Paul.
Please do continue. They are very useful and beautifully presented.
Thanks Dominic.

@pilotbriefingroom I thought I was. But thank you for pointing this out! I am now 😅 keep up the good work 👏

Hi Jon! Please do keep these up, maybe plug this channel in the next few main channel videos to hopefully inspire more people to watch them. These videos are incredibly useful and well presented.
Thanks. I've been mentioning them on the main channel. We shall see how it turns out.
Commenting for the algorithm. These videos are both helpful and interesting.
Thans for your help with that.
Hi Jon, these are brilliant. Please don’t stop them it’s a fantastic resource. Chris
Thank you Chris.
Please keep them going, I am learning to fly and really enjoy them!
Very useful report Jon thanks very much indeed. Great work always enjoy keeping up with changes through your reports 👍
Keep these going, Jon.
Non-pilot here, but hugely interested in aviation.
And I have subscribed!
Keep up the good work Jon, very useful videos that are very helpful
I look forward to the briefing, Jon, and always find it very useful. I'd be disappointed not to see it, but I do understand that it must take a lot of your time and focus.

How vague is that. I presume the entirity of St James' Park and Green Park are the curtilidge of Buckingham Palace?

As a local, it’s pronounced CHATeris. Although was amusing to hear your pronunciation 😊

Not looking good Richard.
Good to see you here Richard - hopefully we can take some consolation in the fact it takes years to get things like this done…
Please keep going. Perhaps low figures at the moment are due people not finding this new outlet….🤔

You'd need a clearance above 1300ft in the class D - whereas, you're exempt from requiring one below 1300ft.
Does that apply to military low level that use 130.4916 and use squawk code 7001
Chat-teris as opposed to Charteris; and I’m a Southerner….
