This theme is the definition of pure endurance, resilience, perseverance, it really personified Kobashi who was a tough SOB.
Kobashi has to be one of the greatest babyfaces of all time.
The moment where he throws his own body over Misawa to protect him during the Greatest Tag Match Ever (you know the one) is easily one of the best babyface moves I've ever seen.

When I saw it, A friend showed it to me on a tape that came with a label that just said "The Best Tag Match Ever" and that was all it said, and that was the only match that was on the tape.

he's 52 i think that people from 1-50 have a 25% chance of dying that early but if there 51-60 or more that would be like 40% or more % chance of dying because a lot of wrestlers dyed at an old age so there no worrying (for now :l )
I was in attendance for European Navigation 2008, every single person in that arena, even the ring crew and various hangers on around ringside were chanting "KO-BA-SHI!" when he made his entrance. He was also a really nice guy to meet.
This is the definition of "determined protagonist theme music". I love it.

I've heard about Mitsuharu Misawa some time ago from Dave Meltzer's tweets and a couple of days ago I just randomly decided to check out his famous matches vs Kenta Kobashi (who I also heard of but never actually seen). Oh my god, I've missed 2 of the greatest of all time, I get choked up just by watching their matches and hearing their theme songs, super nostalgic (even though I didn't get to witness them in that period of time). Rest in peace Misawa :'-( and thank you Kobashi !

Anyone from the UK remember first hearing this of the Noah adverts on the Wrestling Channel back in the day? Perfect theme, perfect wrestler.
Fuck yeah!!! I miss the wrestling channel such good shit on there including some really rare old Japanese shows, British indies, some Mexican lucha stuff and even some more modern american indies thrown in.
I remember watching a Japanese match that had Cactus Jack that blew me away.
Also that channel introduced me to Hayabusa and Misawa for the first time.

@@hkr9095 Agreed 100%, Kobashi be a poor fit in today's WWE. Extremely different style and era. Kobashi would be better off fighting a Bret Hart, Ricky Steamboat, or Ric Flair. Not today's type of wrestlers and it's not even a comparison. Kobashi should stay retired, or at most open a wrestling school or in a behind the scenes role.

Please, no. AEW would make Kobashi job out to Darby Allin or someone. I was really mad when they made Satoshi Kojima lose to CM Punk. Worst finish I've ever seen and the crowd was cheering Kojima over Punk, and Kojima in his 50s wrestled far better in the match in better shape. Guys like Kobashi and Kojima were titans, not skinny fat small guys. They're better suited for a Bret Hart, Ric Flair, or Ricky Steamboat type wrestler.

Kenta Kobashi would eat AJ Styles for breakfast. Two very different styles, types, and eras of wrestlers and Kobashi was a big dude gladiator in comparison. Kenta Kobashi vs. Bret Hart in the KOR 1995 finals would be a dream match. Kenta Kobashi vs. Ricky Steamboat or Ric Flair in 1994 WCW would be amazing as well.
