Not gonna lie, Swordburst 2 hit way hard(even though I was way younger at the time I actively played it) but the fact they made SB3 more child based is absurd, in 2nd you had to think how to get to the boss, where to farm more efficiently but here.. you just.. do everything in a straight dull boring line, sure
So true dude, this game, does not even deserve the title. When they said the 2 magic words "Abstract Alex" and "Quests" my hopes died almost immediately. Sworburst 2 will always have a special place in my heart, the nostalgia kills me.
Swordburst doesnt have to be hard,it can be easygoing communicative and that’s what makes it fun, honestly swordburst 2 they made the game too big basically you’ll have a 15minute walk to a boss room and that’s not my type of game okay.

I honestly didn't even know there was a Sword burst 3 in dev, so I was so excited when I saw it while scrolling, when I tell you my excitement completely disappeared after about an hour of playing after realizing this was just a simulator that does not feel anything like SAO
The leveling system itself is one of the worst flawed thing in the game. They just forget to actually know how to do a leveling system that first few leveling spot is actually the best leveling spot in the whole game. Instead of making the progression more exponential, they decided to make it linear. You can take like 2 minutes to clear a floor 2 mission and it give you around 800 to 900 exp. Instead, you can spend 20 seconds to do the wolf mission and receive 400 exp. Don't you see a problem in that. The fact that SB3 was done this dirty hurt me on a spiritual level, SB2 was that game in its hayday. Now it's barely a simulator.
Well that's true now but not true a few years back when we got sword burst 1 shard online and sword burst 2.. I think they going simulator now cause they seen might have seen huge profit margins with world zero..

For some reason on mobile when you hit an enemy alot with skills and m1s the enemy/boss sprite gets moved from the hitbox and i find my self trying to guess where to dodge because the enemy I'm fighting is like 10 feet away from the actual hitbox
I've heard different things, apparently they had a lot of custom enemies but the files got corrupt / lost. Either way, it doesn't mean they should have used reskins.

Thats the kill credit system. You have to deal a certain amount of damage (which is not displayed to the player) in order to get credit, and the boss also despawns after a few minutes. In general its an awful system.
I remember back in the day in like 2015 - 2016 playing Swordburst online and then moving on to Swordburst 2 and seeing massive improvements. But the move from Swordburst 2 to 3 is just disappointing.

I see a fair bit of people defending the portal mechanic because it can “provide a bonus to finishing quests quicker and extra xp.” The portal becomes downright obsolete after one use in each area, solely because quests provide an incomparable amount of xp to portals, while being way more available. The portal doesn’t accomplish its mission as a separate leveling option, and the challenge is usually gone when you become a higher level because of quests.
a lot of the bad things are repeated but its the gameplay loop itself imo, i think they should make a swordburst game with something like deepwoken combat so it is very engaging to play
tbh, sb3 must be worse than sb2 as sb2 has been taken yrs for the level design and rework... btw I hate sb3 as it is much less detailed, some of the mob's attack pattern are stupid like last mob before the final boss in level 2 which has unevadable attack and some of the mob deals the same dmg as the final boss does.
I like sb3 and will still probably play it, but my biggest problem with it is it just doesn’t feel like a Sword Burst game or A Sword Art Online game at all. There is no reason it should have quests at all and the enemies aren’t even worth killing without a quest. The reason I like swordburst is because I can just fight anything and everything I want without being it locked behind a level lock. I also don’t like the upgrading system I liked Swordburst 2s because it was already perfect Common crystals all the way up to legendary you can either dismantle to get the crystal you want or combine 5 of an uncommon to get a rare then 5 of a rare to get a legendary and also it was risky because their was a chance for it to go down an upgrade instead of now being always going up. Also like I said before with enemies being useless without quests they also just don’t give any good XP just by themselves. It’s floor design is also worse then Sb1 and Sb2s. Sb2’s floor design was great maybe expect for the latest floor but still they looked amazing just look at F7 for example it was beautiful then look at Sb3 and it’s just a plain another example Even floor 1 technically floor 2 but still you can go anywhere you want just fight enemies explore get stuff then look at the first floor in Sb3 it’s just a straight line and that’s it. Third it’s sad to say this but the graphics of it just aren’t good compared to Sb2 I mean the difference is night and day maybe not that big but it’s definitely still super noticeable. Last thing I want to say is I just wish they stuck with the way it was always done because it was just fun fighting bosses with many people or just hanging out somewhere getting drops just wish it was like the original.
Sb3 calls itself an open world despite having no cool shit at all if you deviate away from the main path, the world itself looks ugly, level barriers, you name it One of the most fun shit I used to do in sb2 was unnecessarily go through worlds being underleveled when I had a carry and simply just enjoy the thrill of exploring

I'd say SB2 compared to SBO is a massive upgrade (visually and mechanically) and SB3 is a downgrade of BOTH. SBO is good for memories, but grinding on it was terrible, the UI was poorly made and combat was extremely jank. SB2 is still a pretty solid game, a little dated sure, but still good. Animations, UI, models and map design all hold up. And then theres SB3. Downgraded models over SB2 (and in some cases even SBO), worse map design than both games, a whole lot less charm to it, as well as several mechanics just straight up being worse than both previous games. Insane how the want for more money can corrupt people as much to make a game this abysmal.
yes bro the social aspect of these games is definitely overlooked, sbo was so much fun. It genuinely felt like I was playing sword art online, randomly meeting and interacting with so many other players. Ive played the first few floors of sb3 and I dont think ive ever talked to anyone, its very soulless.
One thing i do like about this game is the fact that you can basically fly with 1H sword class (With good use of stamina and spells + sp regen on both armor and sword). Yeah, that's kinda it.
Idk if it’s because I’m on a old Xbox one s or not but my game be laggy af ,also leveling seems wack and I’ve had bosses despawn in the middle of a fight , I’m guessing I took too long but still shouldn’t be that way.
you forgot the part where the bosses have an invisible timer, after a few minutes it kicks you out; say goodbye to strategy and skill to beat bosses and need to level up brainrotted amounts to actually beat a boss. You cant even challenge yourself to fight a boss due to the timer.
I got excited thinking a good sword art online game was finally out but nope.... welp guess I'll be waiting another hundred years till either blade art online releases, or another game similar/as good as that game releases
The worst part about Swordburst 3 is just that the gameplay "feels" better since I can actually dodge attacks instead of having to facetank everything. Oh, and I'm not a big fan of the anime faces.
Man, this is like the opposite of how Vetex did it with their games Arcane Adventure, and Arcane Odyssey. They made it better and actually spent time thinking of how to make the experience more open world, not a cash grab

After playing it for a couple of hours, it honestly did felt like just another ordinary sword fighting simulator. The mechanics of the whole game are kinda dogsh*t and provided an obvious linear progression. Although, there was a silver lining that I recently discovered. Considerably, the graphics and visuals of the map werent entirely bad. People may say its childish since they made it a bit too vibrant and colorful which any other game developer would do nowadays. It's highly likely because of marketing strategies to attract younger children to play their game. Compared to the formatting of 2017 games graphics wise, the generation of games today has more "life" to it. I won't expand further since its more or less patronizing the game itself for being good overall when the only thing I was able to appreciate was its environment vfx. In conclusion, the devs could make a comeback if they could actually listen for some community input for once.

They also made the game slightly p2w, like of course we all hope dual wield gives extra buff since u literally need to grind for another copy but not at the cost of making it 800robux, they also made dual wield op as heck as the dmg is literally adding up both swords
SB2 is in general the better swordburst, but gets rather unenjoyable after floor 8 to 11 depending on who you ask. It is sure as hell still worth playing if you haven't played it before, and even if you have, if you didn't get that far its still worth it. SB2 is kinda just SB3 done a lot better, combat is the only exception, which doesn't look as flashy but gameplay-wise its pretty much identical with a little more challenge in PVE.
I agree but tbh what i would the most with the ridiculous demands to even play the game cuz not everyone can afford PS5 or Xbox Series X nor good PC and without it the game is ass laggy and healthbar stays where the enemy actually is not where his model is cuz that's mostly visual bug and affects the gameplay a lot💀

AbstractAlex and his team really seem to have developed Ubisoft syndrome where they don't really change their dated as hell formula. Say what you will about W//Z but it was definitely a breathe of fresh air in both visuals and gameplay despite how it was slowly turned into less of an open world and more of a dungeon crawl, it still feels like a good MMO with an ACTUAL CLASS SYSTEM. SB3 just seems like such a mundane downgrade for what their previous release was like. Also Alex really likes to move onto different games way too quickly (Shard Online you poor child)
That games ai are too easy, too grindy, too pay to win, and is bland with horrible designs and no real open wold unlike swordburst 2. Sb2 had actual designs and followed story.

Last thing I want to say is I just wish they stuck with the way it was always done because it was just fun fighting bosses with many people or just hanging out somewhere getting drops just wish it was like the original.
Sb3 calls itself an open world despite having no cool shit at all if you deviate away from the main path, the world itself looks ugly, level barriers, you name it
One of the most fun shit I used to do in sb2 was unnecessarily go through worlds being underleveled when I had a carry and simply just enjoy the thrill of exploring

I loved swordburst online 1, it was so iconic and a blast interacting with others. I thought swordburst 2 was bad but this one just looks abysmal.
I'd say SB2 compared to SBO is a massive upgrade (visually and mechanically) and SB3 is a downgrade of BOTH.
SBO is good for memories, but grinding on it was terrible, the UI was poorly made and combat was extremely jank.
SB2 is still a pretty solid game, a little dated sure, but still good. Animations, UI, models and map design all hold up.
And then theres SB3. Downgraded models over SB2 (and in some cases even SBO), worse map design than both games, a whole lot less charm to it, as well as several mechanics just straight up being worse than both previous games.
Insane how the want for more money can corrupt people as much to make a game this abysmal.
yes bro the social aspect of these games is definitely overlooked, sbo was so much fun. It genuinely felt like I was playing sword art online, randomly meeting and interacting with so many other players. Ive played the first few floors of sb3 and I dont think ive ever talked to anyone, its very soulless.
One thing i do like about this game is the fact that you can basically fly with 1H sword class (With good use of stamina and spells + sp regen on both armor and sword). Yeah, that's kinda it.
Idk if it’s because I’m on a old Xbox one s or not but my game be laggy af ,also leveling seems wack and I’ve had bosses despawn in the middle of a fight , I’m guessing I took too long but still shouldn’t be that way.
you forgot the part where the bosses have an invisible timer, after a few minutes it kicks you out; say goodbye to strategy and skill to beat bosses and need to level up brainrotted amounts to actually beat a boss. You cant even challenge yourself to fight a boss due to the timer.
I got excited thinking a good sword art online game was finally out but nope.... welp guess I'll be waiting another hundred years till either blade art online releases, or another game similar/as good as that game releases
The worst part about Swordburst 3 is just that the gameplay "feels" better since I can actually dodge attacks instead of having to facetank everything.

Welp, with the new update I think its only gonna get worse, not that my opinion was different before.
After playing it for a couple of hours, it honestly did felt like just another ordinary sword fighting simulator. The mechanics of the whole game are kinda dogsh*t and provided an obvious linear progression. Although, there was a silver lining that I recently discovered. Considerably, the graphics and visuals of the map werent entirely bad. People may say its childish since they made it a bit too vibrant and colorful which any other game developer would do nowadays. It's highly likely because of marketing strategies to attract younger children to play their game. Compared to the formatting of 2017 games graphics wise, the generation of games today has more "life" to it. I won't expand further since its more or less patronizing the game itself for being good overall when the only thing I was able to appreciate was its environment vfx. In conclusion, the devs could make a comeback if they could actually listen for some community input for once.

SB2 is in general the better swordburst, but gets rather unenjoyable after floor 8 to 11 depending on who you ask.
It is sure as hell still worth playing if you haven't played it before, and even if you have, if you didn't get that far its still worth it.
SB2 is kinda just SB3 done a lot better, combat is the only exception, which doesn't look as flashy but gameplay-wise its pretty much identical with a little more challenge in PVE.

AbstractAlex and his team really seem to have developed Ubisoft syndrome where they don't really change their dated as hell formula.
Say what you will about W//Z but it was definitely a breathe of fresh air in both visuals and gameplay despite how it was slowly turned into less of an open world and more of a dungeon crawl, it still feels like a good MMO with an ACTUAL CLASS SYSTEM. SB3 just seems like such a mundane downgrade for what their previous release was like.

That games ai are too easy, too grindy, too pay to win, and is bland with horrible designs and no real open wold unlike swordburst 2. Sb2 had actual designs and followed story.
