I almost didn't click on this video as I'm not usually into the typical haul videos but as someone who watches you every week I couldn't help myself. I'm so glad I did as this was far from the usual sit-down show and tells you see on TH-cam. This was beautifully filmed and full of inspiration for home and garden. Thank you, I know a lot of work must have gone into filming so many areas of your home 💗
Loved everything. I particularly enjoyed your description of your intervention with Simon and the bird houses! You can't turn your back for a minute! X 😂
I must say, I don't usually enjoy voiceover content quute as much as 'to camera', except, that is for your videos, Emma. The attention to detail as you share really shines through, making for a great storytelling-type experience, if that makes sense. And today's 'Haul' video was no exception. Thanks for sharing!
I love that you said "aesthetically pleasing " and that it makes you happy to look at...like that's a very good reason to buy something for your home. you curate a happy living space a place were you enjoy being. and when we feel happy our mental health is a lot better.
You edited this video so amazingly well i enjoyed every second of it. I love how you directly showed how you styled each item. I'd love to see more of your homeware hauls.
Love a TK Maxx haul, never leave there without something. It’s usually candles, cushions, pictures, books and ornaments. Even small bits of furniture too. I collect fashion coffee table books and they always have a great selection. I like that you carefully steered Simon to something more aesthetically pleasing 😉 Lovely pieces you got for home and garden 🤍
Citronella candles are fantastic! I live in Miami, and we always put them all around our patio when we have people over to sit or swim outside. They do work!
We need to start a 12 step program for those of us addicted to TK Maxx / Homesense or here in the states TJ Maxx / Home Goods. 😉 Such a wonderful store. I also visit often and a fan of the sand and fog candles as well. Thank you for another lovely video, Emma.
Hi Emma. I have some clay garden planter pots but have found that in a heavy winter, they can flake or crack. I painted them with a matt varnish just to protect them from inclement weather. I really like the wall art you bought from TKMax- they are perfect for your aesthetics. You certainly have a wonderful sense of decor and I often wonder whether you have ever thought of offering your talents as an interior decorator as you definitely have a great gift for creating a serene and chic atmosphere in your home.💖🌸
Your home esthetic is so calming. Thx for sharing the editing you do to complete the look. I would not guess you could get so much at Home Sense and TJ Max (US) but I only go there a couple of times a year typically.
You have a lovely garden and outdoor space! Your videos are relaxing and inspiring! Simple clean lines and muted tones are very chic, yet comfortable.❤
I am mildly addicted to Sand + Fog candles, I love the spearmint and eucalyptus one for my kitchen, it breaks down kitchen smells brilliantly. I love a trip to Home Sense, you never know what you'll find, we have a beautiful writing desk that is now my make up desk from a random trip to HS. Really enjoyed this video, would love to see another one for autumn/winter!
I appreciate that you are not just buying for buying purposes (consumerism I suppose) but this felt more intentional. As someone who is very eco friendly, i definitely know that it's hard to part ways with something that is old, yet still useful, in exchange for something that fits your current design choices. We aren't that person we were 20 years ago right? But i like that you weren't just doing a huge haul with garbage that looks and IS cheap. Seeing you buy things with a plan and purpose for a later time, like the candles, was nice. I really need to get to making candles because I'm piling up.
I learnt on my infertility journey that DW home candles from Homesense are so so bad endocrine disrupter and bad for our bodies, I did a little more research and the Sand and Fog ones are actually really clean! Just a random fact! Lovely video 🌸
Ooh Emma what a lovely upload! Pots, plants candles, textiles, perfect! I love the look of those candles, the fragrances sound really lovely. The potting bench looks good, my outside table gets covered with a big table cloth and gets took over as a potting bench, it's full of tomatoes atm, hence not much room to eat at 😂 and Simon left unattended 😂 oh dear I think it's a man thing, mines the same, not really aesthetically minded, more function over form 😂 I'm going to have to head to TK max now, but I'm not sure ours has a homesense.....
Hello here (south of France) I only have old terracota pots too and I use to diy white self hardenning clay tags to name my plants 😏😉 I attach them on a long wire rod in each pot. I love your mediterranean vibe 😉😘
This is one of my favourite home retailers. I agree, it is a 'one-off' item retailer that stock items that will only be stocked once. and not repeated. I have bought many items from there which are limited and are crafted abroad ie. bone inlay mango wood side tables etc and has for scented candles they used to do a Mandarin, Basil and Lime (which smelt exactly the same has the Jo Malone original (which cost £56 for just a 200g. Same, when I am in London I always go in and end up buying something to add to the home which is very limited and beautifully made or very different and people comment on them.
Love all the items that you bought, especially the large Portuguese wavy pot. I was going to say that you should 'let' simon have some colour via the colourful bird houses, but apparently birds don't like them as they are not well hidden from predators - maybe some colourful flowers instead ;)
I love the Sand and Fog candles too and buy them at my local Homegoods and TJ Maxx here in Florida. I love the beautiful art that’s on the candle lids and a lot of them are dog themed. This was such a good video and I would love to see more content like this.
I loved this video, I literally go to Homesense at least 3 times a month, and walk out with at least a couple of items since I’ve been renovating my home. I had no idea they were also in the UK.
Happy Sunday Emma, Simon and the pups ☀️ Such a great video and items that you bought at TK Maxx and Homesense. I think that you have great taste and the aesthetics of your home and garden are lovely. I would like to see a future video with your other finds 😊
Aww poor Simon 😂😂. Love home sense a lot but ours in Kent is quite small. May have to go to Lakeside instead one day to make it more worth while. Sand and fog candles are just amazing!! Definitely need to go shopping again and grab some more. X
🙏 Thank you for using the term “aesthetically pleasing” and not just “aesthetic” which I hear all the time and is WRONG - drives me mad! Love Homesense. Don’t have one near me anymore, probably for the best.
Lovely video, as always. Oo Emma, a message for Simon. As you have so many lovely birds visiting, he could buy some alpaca wool and pop it unused bird feeders and the birds use it within the bird boxes. It’s so adorable seeing them take it with their teeny-tiny beaks for their nests! 🥺 🧡
Funnily enough he has a little plant pot in the garden and whenever we brush the pups he takes all the hair and pops it in there. Within minutes little tits are flying back and forth taking it for nesting in the boxes ❤️
@@EmmaHill That is such a good idea!!! No wonder you have so much wildlife visiting. They must feel they’ve hit the jackpot when they visit your garden. 🧡
You should be careful using dog hair if you use e.g flea treatment on dogs as some chemicals can be harmful to birds and chicks. I only found this out recently
I hadn't even considered that so thank you. But we also don't brush them when they have any treatment until after they have had a good wash but I will let simon know so he can have a read up 👍
Fabulous. Yes please to more similar videos. I love your clothing and styling videos so this is a wonderful bonus especially as Tkmaxx is a favourite of mine.
I’m the same when it comes to Home Sense 🤭 I love all their stuff especially book ends which I have too many now but use them as decorations. Funny coz I bought exactly the same terracotta plant pots (those with something like a braid) and for the same reason, I think they give the Mediterranean vibe. I’m down for more of this kind of videos x
Lovely Emma! Love your garden area and the pretty bird houses. I remember how Simon would take care of the bees in your former home garden, so sweet. XOXO for B-Babies 😘
He does have a bee hotel here too 🥰 but the last few days we have had a woodpecker visiting the garden and attacking it, so he has decided he is going to build another one for next year ❤️
Gorgeous items, they all look great. Your dogs are so cute ❤️ We have very similar tastes in home design, I feel very happy while watching your videos. I'm thinking of repotting our olive tree soon. But I was going to use a plastic pot, after watching your video I decided to look at clay pots again. People in the village here recommend November as the planting time for olive trees, but my olives need a large pot with water drainage. I wish you to live in health and peace in your beautiful home. Greetings from Türkiye 🥰
Love what you done in garden. And tkmax is really good for different pots and bits ❤you got to let Simon keep his little bee cause he loves his bees let him have a piece of garden with his wildflowers and he can put his bee bath in there 😂 love birds boxes we had 1 a couple of years and had 3 lots of baby birds in it ❤ love your house and garden videos
He did move the bee bath to the back garden near to the bird feeders and we have seen it getting a lot more use already. We do have lots of flowers/plants in both the front and back garden to attract the wildlife and help the birds and the bees, as we both love seeing them in the garden. We often both find ourselves sitting watching the drama unfold in the back garden around the bird feeders when we are sitting "watching" the TV 😆
I haven't actually listed them anywhere but the small white flowered plants are busy lizzies (which we will change out seasonally), the grasses are Festucas, then a couple of lavenders, an acer tree, a hydrangea and a rose 👍

Here in hot, dry California the potting soil in unglazed terra cotta pots dry out in one day. I hate plastic anything, so I’m switching out to glazed ceramic ones so I don’t have to water my deck plants every day, it’s hard on my bad back. I can see that unglazed terra cotta would be great for the cooler, wetter climate of the UK and the rest of Northern Europe, though. Good plant pots at these shops always sell out too fast, maybe I’ll try these companies online.
I am in the US and I kept wondering why you kept saying TK Maxx VS TJ Maxx and I looked it up. TJMaxx outside North America is call TK Maxx😂. Thought I should share lol. Love your videos BTW
Wait… you go shopping at Homesense?! I just assumed you hand crafted all those concrete vases to hold a single willow stem in a pottery shed in your backyard.

I find citronella candles good in the summer if you put them by a open window it stops all the flys and bugs coming in the house.
Thank you for the tip as we always have insects coming and going whilst the bi-fold doors are open❤️

The Portugese have made beautiful ceramics for centuries, I have a couple of antique pieces I love.
I love the little bird bath and houses and the water hyacinth food covers and dip plate! No Home Sense in Western Australia, unfortunately.

Lovely video emma , would love to see some more when your ready .xxx❤
Fun. Remember to use stones or broken pottery at bottom of pots for drainage
Yes we normally pop stones/gravel in the bottom 👍
It is best to place a small stone or branch in the bird bath. This makes it easier for insects to drink from it...
Yes, I didn't show it in the video but I did mention I was going to do this and it has been done 👍

Emma, where can I find the list of the plants you picked for your outdoor garden, please?
I haven't actually listed them anywhere but the small white flowered plants are busy lizzies (which we will change out seasonally), the grasses are Festucas, then a couple of lavenders, an acer tree, a hydrangea and a rose 👍
Candles are also my weakness at Homesense😊
The birds who take up residence in those beautiful top notch houses will be the envy of the others 😂

It went up today 😘
I do luv a bargain!!! Brings a warm feeling of "smugness". 😉 Need to Google "where is my nearest Home Sense?" Thanks both.
Bargains are the best 👌
Poor Simon! I would like to know where did the the bee water bath end up at. 😊
It is in the garden among some of the other plants getting plenty of use from the birds and bees ❤️

Simon’s bird bath 😂 I had to edit to add Simon’s bird houses 🏠 😂 I love it
