- Deputy chief justice Zondo has expressed dismay after former president Jacob Zuma left the commission without his permission. Zondo came to an empty seat of the former president while the inquiry returned from a tea adjournment. This after the Deputy Chief Justice refused to recuse himself from hearing his testimony. The Commission has now adjourned until next week.

He is now a regular citizen of South Africa, but I think in his mind Zuma begs to differ. Nobody is obliged to come and testify at this commission. This is not a court of law. Commissions only make recommendations based on the evidence collected during its sitting. If Judge Zondo’s final report on the “The State of Capture” recommends that Zuma be prosecuted, criminal processes must then be ensued.

It seems like many SA would like the return of Apartheid in SA. Zuma may have broken the law but comparatively speaking his action is nowhere close to crimes committed by past racist leaders of SA. Those men got off scot-free not brought to trial, for their actions, all based on their white privileges. When you forcibly remove people from their lands, massacre civilians, these are criminal acts and abuse of power and should not have gone unpunished.
