I'm so glad about the preorder bonus giving a special AC data for "G13" that lets you change everything but the frame. Pretty sure it does have the G13 emblem on it as well but I don't remember

Uncle Michigan just had a bad fall
It just occured to me that Michigan's sewing club remark against Iguazu is his way of reprimanding him for giving away confidential information to an outsider.
Its shocking how much of his actual emotions you can pick through beneath the hard-ass general persona he puts on to keep them all focused and psyched up. The man puts as much thought into his words as Rokumonsen.
Something i love aboit michigan is that despite all his drill sargeant antics he still values everyone to an extent, what showed this to me was the line about iguazu and the fact that he calls most of his crew by their names, meaning he cares enough to remember them. This fuckin game man, hated that last mission.
Should you fail the eliminate G1 Michigan mission, the first thing he will do is to call the relief team to tend to the wounded.
Even if we could side with Michigan, I don't think it would have changed much in the long term. Balam didn't have the means to stand up to Arquebus at that point, especially after all of the stupid decisions they made, like not going after PCA weapons when they still could.
It's possible but at the same time they'd have us on our side so we might have been able to change things but we'll never know.
@@phoenixx913 Well, if we could have joined the Redguns early, we might have been able to save Nile from the RLF, and then the Dam would not have been as much of a suicide mission.

Correction: The Jupiter War was fought between Balam Industries and Furlong Dynamics. Michigan was working for Furlong as fleet commander before switching to Balam Industries when the war ended.
He even put a bounty on his own head so that when someone does him in, half of the proceeds would go to his old comrades at Furlong.
@@VictorIV0310 oh thank you for that, I was still in the sight of the battle between balam and arqebus/redguns vs vespers, also does the furlong got an appearance at the game at some point... I may have forgot or not noticed it
Really wish they would have let us side with Balam just so I didn't have to let Michigan get killed.

This just reminded me... WHY ARE WE G13 WHEN WE PICK UP G7'S LICENSE IN THE FIRST MISSION?! I know we didn't keep it, but surely the G7 callsign would've been open for you as well? Unless that's too high a rank for an independent,
It's stated somewhere that 13 is the number dedicated to independents, due to their tendency to die. It's a self fulfilling joke, until us
It’s also possible that when something like g7 dying happens, everyone moves up a rank, so 8 to 7, 6 to 7 and all that, or maybe like Pater did from I think from 8 to 3, but it’s possible it was filled
@LSunflowers I actually theorize that this would be true for arquebus agents, but not balam soldiers. G1 and G6 mention "climbing the ranks" multiple times, which seems to indicate that the redguns use their ranks as almost a scoring system; you do good, you go up a number. Do better than someone else, swap numbers with them. Ita a hierarchy made to push morale and breed competition. A hierarchy for the soldier.
Arquebus, however, is a hierarchy for the hierarchy. You are placed where you seem best fit, or where the command believes they need you. Swinburne was a coward, but a good liaison, and therefore, he was placed as seventh vesper, the treasurer. Rusty, despite being suspect for quite some time, even before 621's intervention on R3, kept his V.IV role until the final stretch, meaning Arquebus needed his abilities within that role (of which I suspect is Intel and logistics). However, what happens to Maeterlink? A loyal hound to the corporation, who fought to the bitter end with no second thoughts, despite her instincts and doubts telling her she should?
She stayed near the bottom of the rung, despite being one of the hardest working vespers, despite being one of the most used on missions, she didn't climb a single rank. Arquebus had her place etched unto stone, and knew the only way she'd move is if she fell for another to take her place. My final piece of evidence for this is Pater, the riven-souled pilot. Pater is very, very obviously not mentally prepared for combat. Battle causes him to shut down, freak out, split himself and try to compartmentalize his emotions so he doesn't feel anything. There's Pater, and the Vesper forced within him, and neither are compatible with the other. Despite all of these flaws, that used to keep him at the bottom rung, we see Pater take the place of Hawkins or O'Keefe, depending on which route we take. Arquebus requires these roles, and therefore would rather put an unstable, unworthy pilot in said role, rather than let the hierarchy look like it's faltering.
All in all, Balam is much more hopeful, much more honourbound, much more human than their rival. And that's exactly why they die first.
@@divineterabyte5181if we had the choice to knock down arquebus at their weakest which would be when the Ice worm is in action, Balam would’ve had the upper hand or at least forced Arquebus back down to an even playing field. Also don’t forget that Allmind seeped her fingers into who would win by knocking out the more useful G4 Volta seeing as he took on the entirety of the Wall’s defences all by himself and the assigned MT squad, knocking out several tetrapods and pretty much just heavily weakening the RLF’s defences. Had Iguazu not went AWOL, he might’ve lived seeing as the only point he died was in the most open section of the inner city, allowing the line cannons to smush G4 almost instantly
Also G2 should’ve lived on for longer seeing as he was the literal brains behind all of Balam’s operations, without 621 the prison break would’ve failed and it would make more sense as to why Dolmayan is no longer leading the RLF with it instead being Flatwell. Also don’t go saying Balam dies first cos they’re more human than their rival, the fucking RLF has WAY MORE sense of hope and humanity with how many times their soldiers cry about defending Rubicon to the last along with just being given every single excuse to be portrayed as the “good guys” when in actual fact they’re a bunch of fanatics who were rallied by a drug addict
To be fair, its funny that you can use any weapon from any company...but imagine you beating the redguns (Michigan included.) With BALEM weapons?
For example the Zimmerman and the one....and only bunker.

He pushes his crew hard as hell, but that's because he knows they have the makings of good pilots if they'd just pull their heads out of their asses.
He knows them all by name.
He wants them to live, survive and train and actively tried to scare them out of fighting Raven more than was needed just so fewer Balam guys had to die.
Fucker put an enormous bounty on his own head with the only stipulation that half of the reward money has to go to the people that helped him get as far as he did.
Michigan's a glorious, loud-mouthed bastard that encapsulates why I like the character writing in AC6. Everyone is fully fleshed out despite only ever meeting them in the middle of a fight, reading about them in passing, and never getting to see a single human face outside of in-universe artist interpretations.
