Twenty years…I have much experience in emotional pain. I am new here. There is a season for everything. Nothing is black or white. I am enjoying all the videos here. I find them very helpful. I have stepped back from trying to do flips to please my adult children. I am 75 years old. A time to die. A time to be born. Yes, I cannot keep my adult children loving me. I am ghosting kindly. ❤️
I think this may be AI and not Brene. I've seen other clips that were definitely her voice but not her words. Also, I don't think Brene would say this. She's all about being straightforward and working through things with people.
Yep!! COVID showed us how to live independently, to find our peace. It made it sincerely easier to say “No”. Now we are in a period where we want to say no, especially during the holidays, but face guilt, fear, disappointment, or abandonment. It’s not new, it’s just people realized…hey, I liked having Thanksgiving with my small immediate family, or hey traveling over the holidays was really great for me or my family and we want to keep that tradition. It’s hard to tell people no. It hurts hearts on both sides. How can we decline moments, events or holidays without all the emotional pain and more, understanding??
I agree with setting boundaries. Wrong to use ghosting in a “different” meaning of the word. Use a different word. Ghosting should remain a succinct word referring to suddenly cutting people off without any intention to EVER reconnect. Surprised to see this miss-messaging. Words matter. I agree with the over all content.
AI Brene please don't try to framing ghosting as something healthy. Setting boundaries yes! Ghosting no. Disconnecting and taking time to hea, relax, recharge etc. yes. That is not ghosting.
I understand the sentiment; however, ghosting is the wrong term. Ghosting indicates an accountability incongruity. One only need to say, I’m overwhelmed and in the process of self preservation, I at this time reserve the right to no-contact. I believe this is a way to balance the communication to inform - but maybe there are reasons I am not seeing.. we all make mistakes.
VERIFIED A.I. Ceck the extended video description!! They only have to click the box that shows this. I find this extremely unethical. 3:45 lol i highly doube Brene would say, "slash," outloud anyway. Damn
With all due respect, I think teaching that ghosting is OK for self preservation is not the right way. I think there is so much ghosting going on that it could be easily misunderstood. I think taking a step back for self preservation or taking space is less hurtful sounding. It teaches a more positive mindset than the term ghosting.I absolutely agree that we need to take a step back and self preserve but I do not agree with the term ghosting in this context.
I like the message, but it could be less redundant. 4 Two to Three minutes at the very most, the rest is rehashing the topic over and over and dilutes the message.
But when you get ghosted yourself it's painful ,, your left with unanswered questions and a void for why you deserved that ... I used to like this author but I believe a lot of her theories are good but ghosting is running from your accountability, so you still feel like the good guy ... Instead of just being honest with self and those who your ghosting ... Keep running from your problems by ghosting and see how reliable that is when you need help from those you ghosted
I am so disappointed in Brene's recent content. There is so much focus on taking the act of self-preservation. My deepest friendships were forged in fire, precisely because we didn't choose to distance ourselves. I am not talking about abusive behavior, but these days conflict itself is seen as abuse because people cannot tolerate feelings of being incorrect or even challenged on anything. The proof is in the pudding. We are so much less happy than we were years ago; mental health is at an all-time low, and women, particularly, who are most susceptible to ghosting one another are suffering the most. These types of videos almost never give adequate if any guidance on when to draw the line they so heartily advocate that the viewer draw. We will moreover never develop sufficient strength if we edge away from conflict. Hitting pause and recharging, but that is not ghosting. Ghosting is disappearing, to the point someone else notices it, and very often it's childish power play.

Yes, I've done this my entire life. I don't know what 'ghosting' means, but I do know what self-compassion means.
I did this very thing. 🎉
Just got back in 2 relationships I had ghosted. They are both much better friendships now. Boundaries!!

Ghosting is pretty hurtful, a whole other thing is setting boundaries, though.
This feels like Brent was ghosted-and AI took over her spirit and words.
I think so too
Thank you for validating my reality

I totally agree with this video!!! Thank you!
This seems like AI.
i ghost everyone and you cant belive how i am happy and contant thank you for this amazing video❤😘🙏🏻💐 26:12 26:12
It took so long - a veritable lifetime - to come to this need for time for Self; but then, through all that time, it was a Self I could not bear...
Great advice. I am not a bot.

Thank you. So needed this.
perfect timing..Time to focus on me

Just be prepared that when you are finally available to others they might not be to you 😂
Ghosting causes ptsd. Honesty is the best policy.
This is f... ing AI
How uncanny. I just started doing this having not seen this video. I'm 100% down with this
It was good but a lot of redundancy, like it was cut and paste over & over.
I understand the sentiment; however, ghosting is the wrong term. Ghosting indicates an accountability incongruity. Maybe we need a different term for this. Something about filling up from the inside.
This sounds like AI and heavily edited

There is no time limit to ghost anyone, but necessary!
It keeps repeating the same message over and over.
Your the best 🏹💕
It is okay, in that you are hitting the pause button. Try later though to reconnect.
Cause you're petty and selfish... the people you value are trash..
Way too long and repetitive.
but is a decade too long to be considered this kind of ghosting?
why is this so... choppy and unnatural to listen to?
It's A I. There is no natural prosody of speech.
where is this from, is it audiobook?

I've heard do onto you others as you would unto yourself 😢
It's, "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them..." Matthew chapter 7, verse 12.
I like the message, but it could be less redundant. 4 Two to Three minutes at the very most, the rest is rehashing the topic over and over and dilutes the message.
Why calling it "ghosting" then?
A lot more AI channels these days…

Y'all this isn't Brene... don't listen to this crap

I agree. Ghosting is rude. If you need to step away for awhile, you need to say so.
You clearly misunderstood her entire message.
@@bridgetjones8339 that depends on who you're ghosting.
So well said! I relate completely.
I am pretty sure this is AI generated and fake.
AI. I don't believe that this is not actually Brown..... Too much repeat... F bots... F AI
AI bs like this will have us put down our phones and TALK in person again.
AI, no?
FAKE VIDEO -Verified AI (read all of the description) not Brene Brown and probably done without her permission. THUMBS DOWN!
AI edited by millennials... lol
is this AI? It feels robotic and usually we see her talking
