I think they switch back and forth between designs. It would make sense, since System Blue drums are still pretty young, so they're changing out designs and throwing in new stuff to see where they can have the "sweet spot" with their brand.
Anyone have the inside scoop on why they chose to use the Evans white tenor heads? Haven’t seen any groups use those in a while. Still sounds like they are tuning pretty low compared to the past, maybe they found those sound a bit better or are maybe more durable in that range than clear heads?
@@ryanluis6928 Yeah I figured if anything they were the regular white Evans quad heads, not the frost coated ones. Good to know though, thanks for the info.
America is different from Japan Japan is caught as "01, 2345" on the extension of "0, 1234" But in the United States 5 drums is the same as "0, 1234", but 6 drums do not separate from "01,2345" but use "012345" are using it Japan is late In Japan there are many ideas that 5 drums are better than 6 drums Is it even so in America? Or maybe there are six drum factions and five drum factions?
たっち・みー There are lots of people who like both 5 and 6 drum setups. In America though, we don’t refer to the 6 and 8 inch drums as “0” or “0 1”, we just call them “Spock” drums describing how they sound. People in America will also sometimes just say 6 or 8 inch drum and then call the bigger drums 1, 2, 3 , and 4.
Looks like we answer Brandon's question on whose drum stick is on the field

Tenor players don't change from high school, do they? Other than they get more skilled..
Its beautiful.
This guy is good but, I liked Miles more because of his sound effects.
Eric Sun so true
And miles is a better and more talented man he is but this guy is a God as well
Nothing beats Rue Nani Nahh from Bluecoats imo though

There’s so many parts from 2017 in this show
0:36-0:40 isn't that a part of the 2017 show?
ItsEdwardHere yeah
ItsEdwardHere lot of recycled material, actually.
Kaamel Mathis maybe that was the point of the metamorph..like that old school to modern drumcorps era
10:39 sounds like 2017 also
@@ItsEdwardHere that was the point. It started as a look into the past. The "modern" drum corps. Then where it could go in the future
Diggin the coated heads
Is it just me or does it sound like there’s only like one crank on each of the lugs?
John Culbertson i hear it, they do seem really loose
John Culbertson the rims with the cut outs cause the head to loosen a lot more, that’s why RCC stopped using the cut out rims.
wait when did the rims go back to normal? or am I seeing things

You can definitely hear the rim being there lol

Those actually aren't the coated heads its a brand new prototype that are still in the works.

I'm guessing for the indoors environment
@@ryanluis6928 they sounded like shit
I’d like to hear where the critics of this video marched that makes them so much smarter than all of BD’s drum staff.
Thank you

Wait, did they take out the split in the tenor break? I didn’t see the visuals
there's one person that doesn't do the split, the other 3 tenor players do
No, they all do the split, I have the transcribed music for it. But I found out that he actually is still doing the split if you look closely.
oh gotcha, thanks for the update
What happened to Miles Kanobi?
he aged out
Jim Garner rip
age out
Where is system blue drum head?
BD uses Evans. The drum shells are System Blue though.
Yea but Evans made a drumhead called Evans system blue which features a honeycomb design and the clear area are the zones. these are mx white heads
BR Films they might have designed different ones this year
Different sound and since Evans is owned by d’adario that also owns promark is partners with system blue
These tenor heads kinda sound watered down, even the Spocks sound weird
They’re probably tuned super low

Yo what the fuck isn’t 1:05 like super similar to 2017
My high school tenor line doesn't drop as many sticks as they do
keep in mind they're also like 300x better than most high school lines, so
(And play a lot faster)
They dropped one while playing really hard music and doing really hard stick tricks at pretty fast tempos. I'd say that's not to bad
Ya know nothing like a little brat criticizing one of the best dci's out there with his own high school I bet he ain't never gonna get in dci
Andy Zeman you should totally go march BD and show them how a real man does it. #myhighschoollineiseffingincredible
