The Royal Enfield Tip of the week no 6 will be regarding the Silencer backfire or the Misfire we can say which creates a blasting sound and actually reduces the mileage. So in this video I had suggested this mod which can help the bullet 500 cc owners to resolve the particular issue. Do mention in the comments section that how do you like this particular video.

The reason why it back fires is actually complicated. Specifically in your case, the backfire is due to emission control, the piston when compressed on the 3rd stroke comes out with a bang which can easily be covered which you showed on this Video ... with regards to other Bulls, there are different solutions.. Exhaust pipes really makes the difference, if it is a three stage exhaust, there would be no backfire... Usually it would be a 2 stage one's that are used.

I got my company fitted silencer changed as it got damaged during one of my trip and from there onwards I started facing this miss fire issue. I tried with more than 10 different types of silencer available in entire Karol Bagh market but none of this fixed my concern. This issue persist for last 2 years and I was finally forced to get back to that stock silencer from RE which i never wanted but then I can though ur video and next morning i tried and it worked. thanks a lot man and i just hope putting the bolt at that place should not impact any engine performance. Do share your experience after few kms of your usage.

i tried it on my st 500. total backfiring gone. it feels more smooth. it is having effect on vibrations too dont know how. vibrations have minimized with reduction in tappet noise. one nut bolt has done wonders

Bro I love all your video's and thanks for giving us these useful tips...But I have a doubt regarding this video....What is the use of the pipe which is blocked...Does it harm the engine by blocking it...Is it safe to block it for a prolonged period.
that vent is the original design for the engine and it has a purpose.blocking it will definitely have adverse effect on the engine in the long run.
@@Suraj-ew4ci its purpose is only to meet tye emission norms of bs3 . if u will block it it will behave as bs2. This gives extra air to engine for combustion of unburnt fuel just before releasing it to emmision pipe

+Derek Kandur I would personally suggest bullet 350 es.. Especially due to the seating position and the riding comfort. Take a test drive of both and I am sure you will feel the difference. More upright position and feels like a bullet. Cheers and happy thumping..

but what is the function of this pipe? will the engine be able to breathe properly? any difference in performance? might have to tune carburettor to fix the air fuel mixture since you're reducing air intake... and btw this problem occurs only on aftermarket silencers

I own a Royal Enfield Classic 350 and am confused about changing my stock silence which got damaged due to an accident, I wanted to go for Genuine Outdoor Bent silencer but saw you mentioning about the genuine short bottle. Is it genuine Royal Enfield, as in our place police pulls up the bike if the silencer isn't genuine. Please do help? That's a short bottle silencer, you can get it from RE showrooms itself.
I have recently bought a RE classic 350.Its Exhaust Pipe (The Bend Pipe) Is Turning Golden From Its Original Nickel Chrome Colour. Could Anyone Explain Why This Is Happening. I Have Seen Some Other Bullets With The Same Issue, is it because I changed the silencer to punjabi short bottle hollow silencer? Is It O.K, If Not How Can This Be Stopped ??

it's actually rubber and it is for protection of exhaust end.

BULLET DIARIES I have heard from forums that blocking that secondary intake will result in slight increase in performance and a good increase in mileage even on stock silencers. Is that true??

+aman mehra bro initially it is for the looks.. And it protects the silencer being rubbed to the hump or potholes to the road.. The cost is roughly 50 to 80 rs.. It's available in all royal Enfield authorized spare parts shops.. Thanks a lot for watching

I also have same misfire problem... when asked about it in showroom they said blocking wont reduce the misfire and they dint to anythin to it.
Bro you shouldnt have asked the showroom. These thingS are DIys , you can get it done in any mechanic shop outside. Make sure you have a Royal enfield standard 500 model bullet and not other model.

It worked for my classic 500cc too, bcz i have converted it from EFI to carburetor which is std 500 cc carburetor. It worked well, and no back firing, if urs is a injector one then please dont try it without consulting a mechanic
