@@LivingLasVegasandHenderson I’ll call you out on something that you said in here why don’t you guys google what the word valley fever means before you guys go around saying that the air is clean and fresh
@@rescue4214 So true but I've lived in 6 regions of the US and they all had their health and financial problems. For me the problem living in Pahrump has been the toxic smoke from the CA wild fires. There are some pretty nasty weeds in Pahrump along with the street lined trash.
Okay let’s be honest for anyone who watches this and wants to move out to Pahrump. 55+ or retired, this is perfect for you. Anything younger, it’s not worth it. There is absolutely nothing to do for kids or teens, hell barely anything for younger adults. You have Walmart, Smiths, and Albertsons as your main shopping centers. There’s a Dollar tree, Family Dollar(s) and a Dollar General. Outside of that, you aren’t getting anything else. Fast food restaurants are sparse as well as actual restaurants, especially ones of quality. 90% of the restaurants are a joke and you will get sick. There are a handful of casinos, so if you’ve got a gambling addiction or have always wanted one, go for it. Also be wary of where you’re living. Mountain falls is quite overpriced and you’re on the outskirts of town. Oh and the Pahrump Valley Winery? That place lost its liquor license and lord knows if they even have it back. Also their restaurant isn’t even that great. But let’s get to the reality of who you’re surrounded by, other than elderly. Tweakers, and lots of them. Some years ago Pahrump ranked 3rd on most underground meth labs in the US. So that’s a fun time. Also education is TRASH. There are like 4 elementary schools, 1 middle, and one high school. Unless you consider the one “school” called pathways where unruly kids and majority of the pregnant ones end up. There is one Christian academy that is worth it but it’s expensive and limited for now on grade levels. Other than that, your kids are relatively doomed from the get go. There are 2 parks in the central area & one up towards the north end which is conveniently out of the way and also by the middle school (why they put it on the outskirts of town, who knows). Don’t go to the lake out there, I mean go to look but don’t go into the water. Spring Mountain is highly expensive and Frontsight is in the midst of a whole battle of overcharging and excessive pricing….. Let’s not forget the 2 main joys of this town: constant accidents due to lack of care and also elderly people. And the vast majority of the police department is CORRUPT. Like extremely. Google any officer arrest and you’ll find a never ending supply of ignorance. Ever watched the LivePD show? View it as a way to learn about good ol Pahrump. Oh and if your house ever catches on fire, bet you’d have better luck ordering pizza and it arriving faster than the fire department would. And let me not forget, the hospital out there is a glorified clinic that has zero ability to actually help people, you will be flown or have the ambulance take you to Las Vegas for 99% of things including L&D. Also the urgent care is a better option but still sucks ass and they aren’t qualified either…… That’s what is the truth of the town. Don’t just let a realtor try to rope you in with the semi quality things the town has to offer.
Thank you for your input, information, and opinion. I have planned on doing a video in the future covering several of the topics you have mentioned. I did not touch on any of these in this video, but I do have serious conversations about some of these things with people who call me about moving here. Your insight is important. Also since filming this, the Pahrump Valley Winery has filed for bankruptcy, hopefully they, or some other entity, can turn it around.
There is everything to do here and more than anywhere else. But it isn't for the poor, so it may not be for you. I have a classic car collection, we meet every Saturday night for a car get together. Each of our family members also have an off-road UTV (desert buggy) and we go desert cruising as a family on the weekends. Some great off road trails. Good Jeep trails too. I don't know what people expect from a town. Are they supposed to come and entertain you? There are sports teams and car race tracks. Once you meet people, there are parties to go to. Events at the parks. If you can't afford a Jeep or to join s sports team, Pahrump may not be for you.
@zeddy mcdog Off road toys aren't cheap but they sure hold the family together. Ask any kid "Do you want to hang out with your friends, or go desert racing with your mom and dad?" No competition. Mom and Dad. I don't care who someone votes for, spending time with your kids, we can provide a positive influence. We have to compete for their time and attention, and win. Would they rather hang with their friends instead of watching TV with mom? Or play video games with their punky friends? Or... take the boat out on Lake Mojave? They're going to choose the boat. That allows me to influence my kids ALL DAY. My kids are both straight A's and love to spend time with me. That's what it's all about.
I got stuck in pahrump for a month and a half with Covid/pneumonia. The hospital is adequate. as far as I can tell there’s only one urgent care and it’s not open on weekends. I stayed in my RV at the Nevada treasure RV Resort which is fabulous and I highly recommend it. I considered moving to Pahrump but decided not to because of my health and their lack of adequate health care. I will miss the view of Mount Charleston with snow on it. Excellent presentation.
Sorry to hear you got Cvd, but glad you enjoyed your time here. If you ever reconsider, please don’t hesitate to reach out. As Pahrump and southwest Vegas expand, I do hope that we see additional health facilities.
Well done and thank you. In a short format you addressed many typical issues people relocating would ask about. I have been to Pahrump and it offers exactly what you say it does. Although, with the expansion/construction on highway 160, I am sure real estate prices are on the rise as more people will be coming from Las Vegas or commuting.
Hey Red, we’ve moved around in Vegas a few times and most recently moved from Boulder City to Pahrump. Give me a call, would love to answer any questions you are thinking of. 702-419-4394
Well done compilation video on Pahrump! Taylor Morrison homes are the best - we are currently living in one and can tell you the quality far surpasses the other big name home builders. We will have to take a look at the Ovation homes as we are retiring soon....
Thank you for the Video, you covered the area quite nicely! We looked at the Ovation homes and the 55+ community and the homes are well appointed, the area is great for walking, and the builder did a great job with the Clubhouse and Pool and activities they offer. Although we didn't move to Pahrump, it does offer a more quiet life. Fyi, we chose Boulder City and closer to our Henderson family.
Pahrump has grown since 1st time visited the town back in 2000ish and wish had crystal ball for buying then. was living in Ca at time then moved to northern wi, got tired of cold and snow and was looking to move where didn't have that or if did was for hours not months. Vegas was 1st place came through on job and was able to make move on the salary. did lots of research between vegas and pahrump the 2 counties, from traffic times vs distance, cost (fuel, taxes, property sizes-what bought in pahrump would have cost me over a million bucks in vegas metro). for sure bit quieter with overall noises, had gotten one property wanted been way quieter of road noise. drive is no problem, only one time snow on top of hill kept me from getting home the short way. best way i describe winter here to friends in the north cold areas, is like late spring/summer in northern wi, cold nights, decent days temps. just had some friends visiting from wi and they look to buy and move here. have another couple who come out and had been staying my casita and look to rent out for 2 months next yr winter.
Pahrump is a great place to live just moved here from Vegas, I lived on mountains edge community so it only adds about 35 minutes more to my drive. I love it out here I wish I would have bought out here years ago . I have a decent size property but if i would have bought in the 2000s I would have bought a 20 acre parcel. The drive is nothing to Vegas . The people are so friendly out here. When I went to get a building permit to put a fence around my property they couldn't have been any nicer, I have never drawn plans and the lady couldn't have helped me more. They approved it very quickly. Me and my wife are always amazed when we go out to shop and by supplies in pahrump on how friendly people are.... Pahrump is a hidden secret in southern nv. don't forget to eat at moms diner❤
It seems that people love or hate this city 😂 I see the negative comments and I believe them but I also believe that this city is expanding and has potential I think that in a few years it will be a city that people will regret not having had faith in this city because I have the intuition that it will be fashionable to live there
Moved here from south central Wisconsin last year to be closer to family. As a younger person in my mid 20's I can tell you its definitely not the worst town, but I've lived in better towns. Trust me when I say wind and "poof dirt" is probably the least of your worries. Although the town continues to grow, don't plan on your kids having the best time here. There is very little to do for kids around here and not much for entertainment at all really unless you're rich, a gambler, drinker, or indulge in the couple of legal brothels here. Opportunities for work are very poor unless you're college educated, (High school kids with ideas of not going to college should change their minds unless they plan to move out of state.) so if you're looking for a good job that's not customer service related that pays you well and cares about you, you'll NEED to make the drive to LV. The gas prices will eventually go down, but you'll spend A LOT of money on gas to make that drive. The food, needless to say is mediocre at best and several fast food joints will get you sick. Don't bother with shopping (for brand clothes, video games, etc.) as there is only a Wal-Mart, Smiths, and Albertsons. Necessities ONLY for shopping. One comment already mentioned this but it's hard not to. Besides a majority populous of elderly, you'll find more tweakers than you've ever seen in your life along with a surprisingly large homeless population. This town is also quite dangerous after dark and there is a pretty large drug problem. Believe it or not, there was actually a drive-by shooting not to far from where I live not too long ago! It's even dangerous during the day! Just last week I had my first traffic accident in 10 years of driving and I wasn't surprised to find that the other driver was distracted while driving. You WILL see a ton of people run through red lights and stop signs too. If you're not careful on the road expect to get in an accident and never expect the police to pull you over unless you're on your phone or drunk. Anything else goes. I will say since moving here I've never seen so many police, fire trucks, and ambulances in one day in my entire life. The video is great but unfortunately, only scrapes the surface. The cons section should've been MUCH longer than it actually is. All in all, Fantastic place to vacation or visit for a short period, but if you're young like me or you have kids, don't plan on living here. Others have their opinions but from a young mans perspective, look but do NOT touch. Especially any lakes.
Pahrump is beautiful, but it has a serious stigma issue of being a retirement town, and too many old people around. Many developers and investors are staying away from Pahrump now, and into Las Vegas where the younger people from California are moving into. Another issue with the whole state of Nevada is the lack of any good 4-year public university. The closest one nearby is UC Riverside in California. After high school, the Pahrump kids that go to UCR will probably stay in the Inland Empire of California after graduation.
You literally called it. I visited over there for a bit and that’s literally how it was. And apparently a good number of fires too… at least in the neighborhood that I was staying at. Essentially, it’s a boring town that’s really only good for gamblers and horndogs who want to take advantage of the legal brothels.
Don't do it. You will end up regretting later. I've lived in Pahrump for 10 years and in the time I've been here, my health has gone down hill. Pahrump SUCKS!!!!
@@josephw2592lol people like you are crazy. What did the clean air confuse your lungs. Lolol you sound like a miserable person. Pahrump is a wonderful place to live. Small town with Vegas 40 mins away. I think you forgot to take your meds.... 😅

Personally ive lived here for the whole 19 years of my life and im not saying pahrump is the best but its not the worst. If youre around my age trying to thrive and live grand out here is not the best option but if youre trying to find retirement or a steady lifestyle then this would be a good consideration. All respect just visit a couple times first and if you want to see a festival just look up on Facebook or google and it will tell you the dates they wanna go for. Dont move here unless you fully consider and know forsure this would be the place for you.
Hey I have a question. I posted up above about the arts/culture scene. I’m getting the vibe that Parhump is nothing like Vegas and may discriminate if you so much as look different than they do. I do not support hate and sadly, I’m sure it still goes on in NV as sadly everywhere. But if that’s the honest truth and underbelly of Parhump, then good luck to them, but I am not interested in potentially hateful places.
@@Mistresslucass in all honest truth for me i definitely love the arts but again this place is mainly ment for people getting ready to retire. There are alot of older people and from the ones ive come across have honestly been considered rude and disrespectful. Only a select few have ever been nice. I wish i could say this wasnt true but id be lying. This place is cheaper to live at but sadly they lost the thrive the minute they decided they wanted to be like a second vegas they lost their individuality and what this town used to stand for.
My wife's mother and step dad retired there 25 years ago he was the local cpa.and president of valley electric. Neat real area.i love frans chicken ranch myself
I live in Pahrump but it is getting congested the streets and roads are teeth jarring terrible all shopping is mainly in Wal-Mart, to many rude people moving in this small town, we are going to have a real water problem if this growth keeps up so don't let these realtors make it sound so great just to sell you a home. Check it out first there are better places to move to
Thank you for your input Richard. I have covered some of these things in another video and plan on addressing some more of the negatives in future videos. Thanks again!
Yes cuz the roads in Vegas are so much better, how about California or do you want to talk about the Arizona roads which state has so much better roads these days? I'm waiting. Lolol water problems what state isnt having a water problem out west? Vegas Arizona California so which state doesn't have a water problem right now. I actually can drink the water out of my well without getting sick, why don't you try that in Vegas with the chemicals that they put in the water from that disgusting lake Mead....Smh anybody with an IQ over 80 knows that Vegas is 40 minutes away if you need any serious shopping . For home supplies you have home Depot and tractor supply which covers pretty much everything for your property so I'm at a lost to what you were missing out here. So you're worried about it getting bigger you want more commercialized names out here? Sounds like one of the people that just complains to complain
Hi Michael. Not sure what you mean by “about to?” There are a lot of smart people working on our water issue and many have great solutions. In looking at the worst possible case scenario. We have 3 years before water shortages even hit tier 3 levels at lake mead I have come to the conclusion that people like doomsday stories which is the reason people like saying the lake is going to disappear. My personal favorite for proposed solutions is draining Lake Powell and moving it all to Lake Mead. This alone will save us about 300,000 cubic ft of water yearly. The same amount we need to run Las Vegas alone yearly.
Good luck The whole South West is facing a Big water shortage.Tell me there are no Court battles going on over water Rights. From Calf. N.V. AR. N.M. If you don't think so good Luck. I have been to Arizona a few times. Looking to re locate. Spoke to people. I would only move to Northern Arizona. But it would be like living in Northern New England. GOOD LUCK with no water, power and food.
@@michaelboucher7188 Yes, there are absolutely water right cases happening. If California and Las Vegas can’t figure out how to sustainably provide water, it would mean that this entire country would have to fall apart, especially California. California has many current and proposed solutions that are being tested in multiple cities and all seem to be going well with exception to the amount of money they are spending and energy costs for some projects, but I have a feeling you know the government can get the money if they want to. If the California farming that uses lake mead alone can get out of using Lake Mead water we would be more than sustainable for the Vegas area. The vegas area today uses less water yearly than we did in 2004, so we have been heading in the right direction, the biggest problem to solve is agriculture, and it seems like there are several strong options there. With what I am seeing, I do think this talk will be a thing of the past in about 5 years.
@@LivingLasVegasandHenderson According to various maps of the Lower Colorado River Basin water region, Pahrump draws from an aquifer and not Lake Mead. Is this correct or is the material inaccurate?
@@jamessrq you are correct. With that said, if the whole southwest experiences extreme water shortages and it gets so bad that daily water mandates are implemented, it will absolutely effect Pahrump.
Bought a half acre of undeveloped land in Parump back in 2004 for about $5000. I live in PA. I keep getting offers for $1800 for that piece of land. We will what it's worth in 8 years when I retire.
I think your video was lovely. I do agree that the disclosure section should probably mention a bit more. All of which was said below...along with the coyotes, wild horses, camel spiders, scopions, snakes, and water harder than diamonds themselves. Also dont freak out when 3 out 10 walmart shoppers are packing heat. Haha CCW is a popular practice here. 😂
One of the better videos I’ve seen Vickie. Pahrump is on my short list for retirement locations. I live in Folsom CA currently. I’ll definitely contact if when that time gets closer. Thanks again
Very informative however Pahrump is getting more crowded every day. Sub division population increases and more traffic is approaching. More traffic more traffic circle and more lines at all the supermarkets. . still not Vegas but Pahrump is now 50,000. People all live in a small area
Wow do you believe this lady? Comes here from Alaska.. Now she is trying to get people to move out here? She needs to get on down the Highway.. I was born in Las Vegas and they chased us out with all of the people that moved in. Now she wants to tell people to come and live here? It will be bumper to bumper just like Vegas is now. No she needs to shut up.
@@baltocingel7597 Don’t worry she’s doing a good job of telling people all the great reasons to move there and the video is showing people just how awful it really is….
Hi my name is Tom I live in Stockton ca but I wanna start over in pahrump.I can't afford a apt right away I need to find a room for rent I hope I can find one.
What a depressing place, why would anyone want to move there. Barren wasteland, no greenery. The town is an endless parade of asphalt car parks with no cars in sight. By the way, what is the obsession with providing car parking at a establishment being retail or hospitality, for hundreds of cars when in reality, it might see ten at the most. Seems to be a trademark of most of these towns. Looks crap. Enjoy Pahrump, I'd rather be in a cell than that place.
@@harrygoldun5779 You've described most of it correctly with exception to being depressing and the asphalt. Pahrump is a rural town and the people who live here love it because of that. Also, we have a few specific attractions people love. I did mention that a bonus of being in Pahrump is the proximity to mountains and greenery all within an hours drive. Also we don't have to deal with the threat of natural disasters every year with exception to some high winds every now and then.
HWY 160 is only route north and west extremely busy, ton of road accidents, folks are roundabout challenged, grocery stores are packed, no movie theatre and still trying to remove the meth legacy... Just got back from Henderson NV a visit to brother and his extended family and I was shocked about everything more cheaper than Honolulu, Hi where because we live in a end less summer Dakine we have to pay for it and then some. She don't want to move there and start over again.

Your welcome! I have a very informative video on things you should know about when moving to Pahrump coming out tomorrow. Please come back for that one. Thank you 🙏
As someone who has lived here for 23 years now, please do not take this video as 100% reason why you should move here. I grew up here, and as a young adult or teenager there isn't much to do. This is a retirement town, and it's great for the rural lifestyle or the retirement lifestyle, but young adults and teens will be so bored they won't know what to do, and that results in them turning to drugs and alcohol. Be aware of terribly bad drivers, with rollover accidents almost every week, as well as an increasing number of burglaries and robberies. If you can look past that, we have plenty of acreage and homes that can be bought for terribly high prices, as well as rentals that went up about $700 in the last two years because of the COVID rental moratorium. With love, a long-term Pahrump resident. Remember, Vegas lies to you, and you probably won't be happy here.
Thanks for your insight. Hopefully you have seen my other videos where I talk about some of the negatives here. I have lived all around the world and country and I am happy here in Pahrump and many others will find living here great for them too.
@@LivingLasVegasandHenderson As cynical as my comment may seem, I do actually love it here. I have seen your video talking about the negatives, and you touched on a lot of it, but I imagine there's certain topics you have to avoid, for both TH-cam policy and professional reasons, which I understand. I'm glad you like it here, this is home to me! Thanks for taking the time to respond though! Wish you the best!
Came here almost 10 years ago to take care of my parents and got stuck here. The hospital is subpar and access to healthcare specialist is extremely poor. If you have any pre-existing healthcare issues forget it. You'll be driving to Vegas a lot. For some reason the local Bank of America is shutting down. it's way too hot to do anything during the summertime. The more than frequent high winds and accompanying dust storms are a major source of irritation. As the sign says, Pahrump discover and enjoy! Discover there's nothing going on here and enjoy your ride out of town...
Hi Terry, first of all, bless you for taking care of your parents, you are amazing for doing that. We are a small rural town (although we are growing) and are lucky to be within an hour or so drive from Vegas and not 2-3 hours like many rural towns. At the rate we are growing it’s very possible we will get more of the services and entertainment in town in coming years, but the honest truth, as you probably know, is that many people have moved here to get away from that and the city.
@@LivingLasVegasandHenderson I understand that you're trying to make a living doing this but in all honesty there are already far too many people here for the existing infrastructure. As you know the sheriff's department is horribly understaffed and overworked and the reason that anyone enjoys living here at this point is the lack of crowds. The problem with more people moving here is that they bring with them the exact conditions that they're trying to get away from. This is not a good scenario. Thankfully I'm in good health so I don't have the problems with a lack of health Care, but I have friends here that drive to Vegas four times a week to get their medical needs is taken care of. As you also know code enforcement is very overworked due to the fact that we had none at all for several years. To say some of the properties in town are eyesores would be to understate the issue and yet there seems to be little or nothing done about it. Yes bringing more people in could get that issue addressed through the simple process of gentrification but to get any of these situations taken care of it takes a lot of time and a lot of energy and endless legal issues that eventually end up in court dates that keep getting put off (we just went through the process). My family came to Las Vegas area in 1956 and it's been in the southern Nevada area ever since. I got the watch Vegas grow from a nice sleepy little gambling town that basically serviced the test site and nellis Air Force Base into the plastic over commercialized nightmare that it is today. I understand that you're just trying to get a job done but if we're honest with ourselves we have to admit that growth sometimes is not necessarily a good thing.
I'm thinking of moving to Pahrump after I retire, but I read an article that Pahrump and the area has a water problem. There seems to be no plan regarding obtaining an adequate water supply in the future. Can you provide any information on that issue?
Congrats! Where are you coming from Amy? Have you bought a home here in Pahrump? Would love to show you around. Feel free to reach out to me anytime 702-419-4394
Pahrump is rural, plenty of room to stretch. I have elderly parents who live there. Healthcare is subpar, have to go to LV for anything beyond something simple. Grocery stores are limited, as are big box stores. Internet isn’t available in most areas, nor is decent cell service.
This video sure flew over the "poof dirt" issues, its a big deal when the wind (often) kicks up and the dust flies everywhere so dense you can't be walking or doing anything outside even to the point of driving your car. Before you buy a home check (this is very important) to see how the builder runs your water pipes because in the sweltering summer time the "cold" water is non existent in your home, talk to people living here they will tell you. Most all eateries here suck, hell one casino even closed their restaurant. The roads are atrocious specially intersections. Road work here is almost non existing, very dirty most time due to the heavy winds flinging garbage everywhere. It's constantly HOT day and night for months at a time you can't even walk your dog, streets to hot. The town itself is as boring as watching paint dry, absolutely not much at all to do here. Did I make the mistake moving to Pahrump, you betcha I did.
Thanks for your insight. Its good for people to read this. I go into some more details on my other video and plan to address some more of these in future ones as well. I’ve lived in big cities and small towns half the size of Pahrump. We are very much a rural town and it’s important people know that.

Pahrump has good Jeep and off road trails nearby. Some into the mountains. Good for dirt bikes and quads too. They can be operated on the road to go to trails. There are places to legally blow off fireworks and the 4th of July fireworks are the best in the country. It's a few degrees cooler than Las Vegas, makes for a nice evening sitting outside.
This is weird, can't explain why your video popped in front of me now!!!! I need to talk to you please! I will reach out to you tomorrow morning, God willing. This couldn't have come at a better time! Thank you!
I really wish ovation would open that course to those of us local but not in the 55 range. Also it should be noted that race resort is not cheap. The. Again if you have a track car you can probably afford it.
Thanks for video. I live in Vegas but it’s also getting expensive and crowded. I’d thought about Pahrump because I’ve heard it’s cheaper. Can someone tell me about job market? And I’d love to grow a small farm like (homestead) I’ve heard the soil is fertile even thought it’s in the desert.
my taxes in las vegas on 1/2 acre lot 2100 sf home is 1200 dollars my pahrump taxes is 4000 dollars on a 1 acre lot 2200 sf built in 2018. taxes are way to high for the services you do not get. poor roads no sidewalk no flood control no street lighting the list goes on. the amount of taxes are based on the age of the home not the value of the home. houses on my street are valued at 800 k and only pay 1500 dollars this home was built in 2007. my home is valued at 320 k and pay 4000 dollars. the county informed me that homes are taxed at a much higher rate depending on when the home was built.. this type of taxation discourages new growth,
I seen a couple quarter acre lots for sale in Pahrump and I've saved a little money and would like to get my family out of California. Do you think its a wise investment to buy a vacant lot qnd put a small home on it?
Pahrump needs an attractive downtown area, more than anything. I don't believe they even have a downtown area, so they might need to build one from scratch.
@Ayo Right, every small business lately that has come in and is gone within 6 months. Supposedly we're getting a Arby's soon though and Dutch Bros Coffee. We shall see.

Hi Trish, just curious, where would you be moving to? What does that area provide that you are not happy with in Summerlin? I know each person’s experiences are different, but Summerlin is consistently ranked as one of the top master plans in the country.
@@LivingLasVegasandHenderson How bout in Summerlin a house built like total crap with a tiny front and back yard so close to your neighbors home you could spit from your home and hit it costs $450,000 - $500,000. @@eyesofanomadictrucker9208 I’m from the city and Kingman is 40 miles or more from here. I’d rather drive to Needles, CA, Bullhead City, or Fort Mohave. All is pretty far so my trips are very infrequent.
There’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to entertainment, but that’s a reason some people move out here. For many people an hour drive is not very long if you want to catch a movie or show in the strip.
If there's enough water the town will likely grow and develop more options for recreation, shopping. People are fleeing CA so it's inevitable the town will grow, and not just with seniors.
Thanks for sharing this. Im visiting friends here and kind of liking the mobile community. It is growing like crazy which I like but hope it doesn't grow like Vegas...kudos for the video
Of course. Glad you’re liking it. We are growing fast, but should slow down a lot faster than Vegas when the market cools down. The new home communities will not expand as fast as we have been.
Hi Danny, prices have definitely gone up but we are no where near Vegas prices. For single family homes Vegas median price is at $460,000... We are at $360,000. This does not include manufactured homes which will bring prices even lower in Pahrump.
What about the arts n culture scene, if there is one? I am leaning to conservative, but as a very artsy person,…I do not fit the whole conservative stereotype, and I stand out. I don’t want to move somewhere where ppl judge you and whisper. Pahrump seems more inclusive and likely to ward off unwanted potential buyers. This goes on. But, I don’t like the hotter temperatures in Henderson or Vegas and it’s just too crowded for my tastes. I’d love Pahrump, but they are a completely different world than Vegas to where it is alarming,
Hey nice information! Poof means a homosexual in england. Nice town! I prefer a ranch style home with privacy over those pre fab HOA exposed garage stepford homes.
Not true , homes are cheaper there ,My Dad just sold his 2004 home on almost 2 acres for way under 300,000..A home in Vegas with acreage like that would have been almost doubled. Loved that property..so Quiet and a Beautiful view of the mountain 😪😪

I guess there's more to Pahrump than bordellos hey?
Well said, I second every word.
Sounds perfect....
We’re planning to move here soon! Im sooooo excited!
We signed the documents today and our home is sold in Henderson and our new home in Pahrump is Under Contract, we .are. so.ready.

Hi - Love your videos as they’re so informative and comprehensive.
Thanks so much!
Excellent presentation Vickie! Very professional and informative! Thank you 👍👏👏👏
Well done and thank you. In a short format you addressed many typical issues people relocating would ask about. I have been to Pahrump and it offers exactly what you say it does. Although, with the expansion/construction on highway 160, I am sure real estate prices are on the rise as more people will be coming from Las Vegas or commuting.
Thank you for watching and commenting James! There is always more that can be said and I hope to address more of these things in future videos.

That’s a great choice. I love Boulder. We lived there for 2 years before making the move to Pahrump.
Great! My RV is headed to Pahrump!
Thanks for sharing Ray, you give a great perspective on Pahrump's growth and differences.
Can we get info on your Casita rental for a month? Coming from Texas to explore area.
It seems that people love or hate this city 😂 I see the negative comments and I believe them but I also believe that this city is expanding and has potential I think that in a few years it will be a city that people will regret not having had faith in this city because I have the intuition that it will be fashionable to live there
Great place to live and inexpensive. I commute to Vegas twice a week to work. Its fine with me.
Great video! Very well put together and kept my interest!
As a 23 year old pahrumpian...I agree with u....I hate this place lol
You literally called it. I visited over there for a bit and that’s literally how it was. And apparently a good number of fires too… at least in the neighborhood that I was staying at. Essentially, it’s a boring town that’s really only good for gamblers and horndogs who want to take advantage of the legal brothels.

As long as you have water and power. lake Mead is about to go offline. Because of water. Good luck when the power goes out.
Hi Michael. Not sure what you mean by “about to?” There are a lot of smart people working on our water issue and many have great solutions. In looking at the worst possible case scenario. We have 3 years before water shortages even hit tier 3 levels at lake mead
I have come to the conclusion that people like doomsday stories which is the reason people like saying the lake is going to disappear.

Your welcome! I have a very informative video on things you should know about when moving to Pahrump coming out tomorrow. Please come back for that one. Thank you 🙏
New video is up! th-cam.com/video/3uNORHpNJXM/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for your insight Terry, a lot of what you say is spot on and I think this is very valuable for all those watching this video to read.
I'm thinking of moving to Pahrump after I retire, but I read an article that Pahrump and the area has a water problem. There seems to be no plan regarding obtaining an adequate water supply in the future. Can you provide any information on that issue?
Just find a place in the north end with a private well. Best water on the planet.
bottled water is your best bet out there
@@SouthwestStudd I'm more concerned about the supply. What happens when the aquifers dry up?
Reminds me of Fresno, somehow. 🤔
Remember - BYOW - bring your own water.
IS. WATER. SHORT. THERE. LIKE. VEGAS. ??
Great content, very honest.
Were in Escrow!!! Ready for the move❤
Great video! 🎉
Thank you Vickie. This is the Best video of Pahrump I have seen.
What is the average home price?
Thank you, it had a lot of helpful information, but can you tell us about the education system?
Hi Ana, thank you for watching. I plan to address this in a video I will be making this month.
In the meantime, please send me a quick email titled TH-cam question to vickiesellspahrump@gmail.com and I will get you more info.
I don't think the education system in pahrump has improved over the years , this is no place for kids it's a retirement town not kid freindly
I would like to know more. I'm a Native American
Lauren, please reach out to Vickie! 702-419-4394
Is there cheap apartments there? I'm moving from Boston and in las vevas it's been hard to find a place
Hi Jay, We don’t have a ton of selection for apartments here in Pahrump. Please fill out this form, we may be able to help.

How's the healthcare? How much is the sales tax?
Pahrump has good Jeep and off road trails nearby. Some into the mountains.
Good for dirt bikes and quads too. They can be operated on the road to go to trails.
There are places to legally blow off fireworks and the 4th of July fireworks are the best in the country. It's a few degrees cooler than Las Vegas, makes for a nice evening sitting outside.
You belong in sales Mr.Chris 😎👍
This is weird, can't explain why your video popped in front of me now!!!! I need to talk to you please! I will reach out to you tomorrow morning, God willing. This couldn't have come at a better time! Thank you!
One benefit is it's located in Nye county not Clark county.
I really wish ovation would open that course to those of us local but not in the 55 range. Also it should be noted that race resort is not cheap. The. Again if you have a track car you can probably afford it.
loved it! RIP Art
I feel for the original residents of Pahrump who will inevitably be consumed by the scum and villainy of Vegas.
I think you lifted that 'scum and villainy' line from Obi wan Kenobi...
Not worried. Plenty of places to bury the bodies.
I might need to take a visit
How are the schools here? How about a police dept?
Thanks for video. I live in Vegas but it’s also getting expensive and crowded. I’d thought about Pahrump because I’ve heard it’s cheaper. Can someone tell me about job market? And I’d love to grow a small farm like (homestead) I’ve heard the soil is fertile even thought it’s in the desert.
minimum wage jobs not much available out here
Are there rentals available there?
Thank you for this video!!!
You’re welcome!
Thanks for info
my taxes in las vegas on 1/2 acre lot 2100 sf home is 1200 dollars my pahrump taxes is 4000 dollars on a 1 acre lot 2200 sf built in 2018. taxes are way to high for the services you do not get. poor roads no sidewalk no flood control no street lighting the list goes on. the amount of taxes are based on the age of the home not the value of the home. houses on my street are valued at 800 k and only pay 1500 dollars this home was built in 2007. my home is valued at 320 k and pay 4000 dollars. the county informed me that homes are taxed at a much higher rate depending on when the home was built.. this type of taxation discourages new growth,
I seen a couple quarter acre lots for sale in Pahrump and I've saved a little money and would like to get my family out of California. Do you think its a wise investment to buy a vacant lot qnd put a small home on it?
Pahrump needs an attractive downtown area, more than anything. I don't believe they even have a downtown area, so they might need to build one from scratch.
too many old heads stay home all day here check demographics of age range its pretty mind blowing
@Ayo Right, every small business lately that has come in and is gone within 6 months. Supposedly we're getting a Arby's soon though and Dutch Bros Coffee. We shall see.
What is the HOA at Ovation?
Hi Penelope, HOA (Mountain Falls + Ovation) is about $110-120. If you want more info on lots and other info feel free to give Vickie a text or call at 702-419-4394. We just filmed another video up there last week 😁.
What about rentals?
Can I buy a few acres and live in my RV on my own land?
I wouldn’t live in Pahrump if you paid me! Vegas is bad enough and I live in summerlin but not for long! C- Ya!
And up. Plus ridiculously hot summers 106-115.
🔥☀️🔥
And Summerlin is one of the few semi nice areas, most of Vegas is a dump! And getting worse every year. Pahrump is no better.
I’m moving to the Lexington Kentucky area where for $500,000 I can get a beautiful Ranch with room for my horses and animals and there’s actually seasons with doable temperatures. And it’s a Red State! I’m not a Democrat and I think Biden is the worst President this country has ever seen. Can’t wait to leave! Hope this answers your questions.
Is there an HOA?
no mention of good hospitals, doctors or dentists.
What is the neighborhood for minorities? Me and my family dont want to feel out of place there. But we are considering the possibility of moving to Pahrump
Please give Vickie a call on this. Pahrump diversity has changed a lot in just a few short years and it is going to continue with its growth and new construction. The newer areas look and feel a lot like Vegas. Vickie scan certainly help you understand Pahrump more. Just call her (702) 419-4394
@@LivingLasVegasandHenderson thank you. We will
I agree
Prices??
Great presentation👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Good to know, just moved to Laughlin and they build absolutely NOTHING here. Was def planning on leaving here when my lease is up
Yes but don't you just have to go to Kingman Arizona that's where everything's at
@@eyesofanomadictrucker9208 I’m from the city and Kingman is 40 miles or more from here. I’d rather drive to Needles, CA, Bullhead City, or Fort Mohave. All is pretty far so my trips are very infrequent.
@Nikki Peoples totally agree.
@@iamkingsolomonIs Bullhead City still referred to as Meth-head city, or have they cleaned it up by now?
@@johng4093 yep, pretty much sadly to say
yes yes...please move near vegas!!!!!!
Who ever came up with the idea to give reason why we wouldn’t want to move to Pahrump 🙌🏾
is it true brothels n prostitution Legal in Pahrump?
Love the Scenery n Outdoors activities but gets really in COLD Winters
✌✌
My wife would not agree to this, even though I kept saying that I'm 90 years old.
Plus they have all that water down there.
I life their. And their is nothing to do except going off roading
No museums, no theatre, no public transport, not even a cinema, nearly nothing for kids.Mountain falls is good.
There’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to entertainment, but that’s a reason some people move out here.
For many people an hour drive is not very long if you want to catch a movie or show in the strip.
I'm on SSDI on a fixed income I wonder if the 55 and older apts will work with me.I am a senior now and need affordable housing.
The new home communities will not expand as fast as we have been.
it's literally just as expensive as las vegas now :(
Hi Danny, prices have definitely gone up but we are no where near Vegas prices. For single family homes Vegas median price is at $460,000... We are at $360,000. This does not include manufactured homes which will bring prices even lower in Pahrump.
Vegas prices are getting higher by the day it seems.
2 stores for 50000 pepole thats it
What about the arts n culture scene, if there is one? I am leaning to conservative, but as a very artsy person,…I do not fit the whole conservative stereotype, and I stand out. I don’t want to move somewhere where ppl judge you and whisper. Pahrump seems more inclusive and likely to ward off unwanted potential buyers. This goes on. But, I don’t like the hotter temperatures in Henderson or Vegas and it’s just too crowded for my tastes. I’d love Pahrump, but they are a completely different world than Vegas to where it is alarming,
They should change the Name of the town
@@crystalleeper5899 Yeah..the name sucks I'm sure that they can come up with a better native name than purr-rump..LOL
How about "The Town Formerly Know As Pahrump"?
Hey nice information! Poof means a homosexual in england. Nice town! I prefer a ranch style home with privacy over those pre fab HOA exposed garage stepford homes.
Houses are just as expensive....
Hi Victoria! At the moment our median price is 100k lower than Las Vegas.
Not true , homes are cheaper there ,My Dad just sold his 2004 home on almost 2 acres for way under 300,000..A home in Vegas with acreage like that would have been almost doubled. Loved that property..so Quiet and a Beautiful view of the mountain 😪😪
@@deanahaas750 your right median home prices in pahrump have jumped hugely over the past year or 2 getting into a simple cheap thing out here is becoming harder to do.
1 reason not to is housing is expensive
Our median home price is 100k less than Las Vegas. We are a pretty inexpensive town when compared to any of our neighboring areas
